LVG himself said he looks at the performance more than the result. We got away with it tonight but we need to keep up the improvement we saw against Hull.
We got away? Are you having a laugh??!! The last intense few minutes should not sum up the whole 90 mins. The fact that DDG had saved our game is by no means we got away with things. We scored two good goals and one more than the opposition and had been unlucky not scoring a couple more. And that happened when we were using a 19 year old and no Rooney no Di Maria.

The Boss is right he wanted performance but he's very happy with the results. I strongly feel that we have the motivation and incentive and players have given 100%

A lot to like about that game and on the flip side, a lot to not like

Loved Hames Wilsons overall game. You can just see he's got that x-factor to at least be a valuable squad member for a long time. Potential world class, but too early to tell

I think Rojo and Smalling are looking very solid ATM and it could be the start of a beautiful CB partnership. We'll see what plans LVG has for Jones.. but Evans looks like he could be pushed out. Well justified IMO

There appears to always be a big gap between Van Persie and the midfielders. He's always so isolated, but I can't see what the problem is just by looking on the TV. Falcao doesn't seem to have the same issues in his cameos - he gets involved in the build up plenty of times in his 15 minute stints

I know Fletch is our vice captain, but even a monkey could see we completely lose control of the game every time he comes on. I had a feeling we'd be in trouble as soon as I saw LVG giving him instructions after his warm up

Once Herrera irons out some of the kinks in his game he'll be one of the best in the world, I feel. Could have scored a couple today if he made the right decisions/had a bit more composure.

Overall I'm very happy with the direction we're heading. We DEFINITELY would not have won that game at the start of the season, and last season it would have been one of those games we dropped points after 2-3 wins. We have a good opportunity to go on a winning run of 6-7 games now

I voted him my Man of the match. He was superb in the first half and was everywhere, won so many balls back & hurried the Stoke players who are no alien to playing it physical. Also, it takes a lot of mental strength & courage to turn it around after the kind of abuse he got from rivals fans & most of our own fans. He was the scapegoat, it was that bad last season that when Manchester United decided to post "Player skills challenge" on youtube, they disabled the comments for the video which had Fellaini in it.

There would still be be moaners & critics looking to slate him but he has won most of the others. :D
    Good post mate.

I thought we played pretty well. Controlled large spells of the match and could've easily had a few more goals. Still looking timid near the end and probably should've conceded the equalizer. I thought Fellaini was great for us this match. Had power and provided some good touches to knit play together, as well as getting on the end of the opener. Football always surprises. I have said repeatedly that I thought Fellaini and Young were never, ever good enough for United, and the one is my MotM and the other helps salvage the win, along with DDG. Full credit to them both. I thought we lacked a little creativity in the final third. Rooney in that match may well have seen us go to 5 goals. I'm still not convinced with RVP. Looks slow, his first touch is gone and he doesn't get involved enough. Compare that to Wilson who was at least industrious in chasing down every defender with the ball all match. He might be young and lacking in some areas, but he has shown his potential today. For me, it's past due to sit RVP and get Falcao a full match to see what he can do. All in all, a good match, if not overly convincing.

Which is basically the problem. It's not really his fault, it's just that a winger who can't skin defenders, whipping in hundreds of high crosses, isn't the player you want to be your best performer against Stoke. The best aerial team in the league.
He was MOTM for me, skinned Bardsley several times today and most of his crosses caused problems except for a few that were overhit. What are you talking about?

I'm beginning to enjoy this. The 'never say die' factor is appearing again, which is pure United. Last year, we gave up within minutes of walking onto the pitch.

DDG - I once remember Fergie saying that Schmeichel was worth 10 points in a season, well our Dave is well on his way to that. Keep going lads, you're doing good.

That with him in the team we play a less effective, less enjoyable style by default. He becomes an option we look for too much to "get it in the box" and it reduces our creativity. Even if he plays well. Which he did.

Interesting. I'd say the same about Fellaini.

So would I. Completely. Even though he's also playing very well.
I agree. Fellaini is excelling at the few things he's actually good at. Good for him, good for us, but in the long term I still don't see him as nothing more than a backup player.
