    Team should be...

    ---------------De Gea---------------
    Valencia--Smalling--Jones--Shaw
    ----------------Matic----------------
    ----------Mata-------Pogba----------
    Lingard-------Lukaku-------Martial

Subs: Romero, Lindelof, Blind, Herrera, Fellaini, Mkhitaryan, Rashford

That team should surely batter this poor Stoke side
I wouldnt mind seeing that. Mata picking up the ball a bit deeper and allowing pogba to get further forward on the left too. Downside is we miss herreras energy in the middle, but it would be good to see how it turns out. Stoke is the perfect team to try it against.

Similar to city really, lining up like that, pogba and mata could be our de bruyne and silva, with matic as our fernandinho.

Id have Lingard behind lukaku rather than on the right though.

This break couldn't have come at a better time. Group together for some quality training sessions and get some rest and recuperation in while rivals play in the cup.

Stoke have been really poor of late; and really think if we score early it could be a landslide. I do get worried with this side if we aren't leading at half time though. Come on Reds!

    Shaken, and very stirred......
Hmm, well, I know he was a great player for us, but Hughes is a miserable sod whose constantly slagged off United, so I'd be rather happy if we gave them a thorough walloping......

My first time at Old Trafford since 2005. Will also be the first time I've taken my daughter to a live game.

Don't agree with the posts about Lingard being moved to the right, he either plays behind the striker in a 4-2-3-1 or on the left in a 4-3-3.
Actually, the guy who plays on the right spends most of his time running all over our front of attack anyhow, and that's where Mourinho used to play Lingard. Last night, he was quiet in the left, only got better when he went #10, where he's best. Behind the striker, for me, that's where his strength and quick thinking and shooting is most useful now.

Stoke's out of the FA Cup, we're going to Dubai and the game stays in the same day.

Someone for God’s sake stop Choupo-Moting. The shitc*nt only turned up against us the entire season.
We must contribute our fair share to help relegate those sh*tcnuts.

I agree with all of these. Such a cnuty club with cnuty game-raising players and a cnuty manager. Hope we thrash them 7-0.

Jeez - I remember our draw with them earlier this season, thinking that wasn't the worst result as our closest rivals will probably struggle against them too. I was wrong. Let's roll them over this time round.

Apart for the obvious City and Liverpool there are few teams I really dislike but Stoke are one of them. I hope we thump them and they get relegated

Hughes got 3 draws v United in the last 3 games, so his sacking isn’t as bad as it first sounds. He did always raise their game v United.

His sacking is a good sign; he has his players stoked up for united games.

Providing everybody is fit, and Mourinho doesn't want to throw our new signing(s)in at the deep end:

    De Gea
    Valencia Jones Rojo Shaw
    Pogba Matic
    Lingard
    Lukaku Martial Rashford
Gotta love to see this happen tbh!

With the sacking of the Fuzzy Haired One, expect Shawcross and Zouma to play like the second coming of Nesta and Cannavaro; Fletcher as Gattuso and Chupo-cnuting as Maradona incarnate.

Not basing it on anything, just a hunch, but i've got a funny feeling that LvG could become the new Stoke City Manager in the next few days, and hopefully if he is he'll get the reception he deserves @ Old Trafford after the way he was treated by Ed Woodward.

Much as I like it I do think Mata has begun bringing a bit of purpose to the chaos! But yeah let's get at them
There was a bit of a wave of feeling for a pacy Lukaku, Martial and Rashford, or even adding Mhky as a fast four once, but the reality is you need someone with what Mata has got to add a bit of ball retention and quality in there.

Imagine if you could mix his ability with one of the others, you'd have one of the best in the world!

I did think it was certain if they lost, just before our game, but had actually missed the news!

Should still be able to smash them though... 1-0

Agree with this. He seemed to be the only ex United boy who put a good display in against us, and 2) strangely seemed hell bent on it!

At least this isn't a 14 day international break... :boring:

This I would agree with. Stoke will play 4-5-1 and try to smother us in midfield. We cannot play a 2 man midfield against them surely.
Hopefully. But I wouldn't put it past Mourinho to go back to his dear fecking 4231.

What does he deserve, exactly? A lot of love for curing the insomniacs among the United fans?

What are you suggesting then, that 73,000 turn up in pajamas, and boo ?
    That might be amusing :smirk:
No I'm just saying that while the circumstances of his sacking were a bit disgraceful - him and the team should at least have had a few days to savour the trophy success - he doesn't deserve very much respect for his reign as a whole. It was a failure. And a sleep inducing one at times.

This is gonna be a tricky game now. Whenever a side sack their manager, they always play out of their skin in the next game.

    De Gea
    Valencia Jones Rojo Shaw
    Fellaini Matic Pogba
    Mata Lukaku Lingard
