    My team vs Spurs -

That would also be the 11 I choose. To be honest I'm more nervous about the subs as much as who/who isn't going to start.

If we get to the final 15/20 mins and we're not winning I hope to god he brings Falcao on, I know he he's been poor but I think he still has that moment of brilliance in him and at least it sends out a message that we are going for it. In the BT Sport interview with Fergie, he said the main reason United were renowned for late come backs was because the opposition conceded that we were going to score and we normally did.

Crazy that people would still pick Valencia in an attacking role. He's beyond awful as a winger.

Rest of the team is how I'd have it, too.
Its purely for man management. He may well be gone in the summer, but we have an urgent job still to do to get top 4. We need everyone on board and all hands to the pump. Destroying players confidence even more by kicking them when they are down will just make our top 4 aim even more difficult.

I mean in all competitions. Was surprised when I saw it but you did go 5 without a win. Though 4 of those were in the space of 10 days or something like that.
Well yes, a lot of games in a very short time span. And two of the games were in the Europa league, where Poch did not field his strongest side. But in terms of league form Spurs are in good nick.

I would think that Spurs will go into this match with a lot of confidence, hoping that their young and seemingly very fit team will have too much energy and fizz for United, especially in midfield ... that'll be part of the plan at any rate.

No chance we'd play it, but I'd be sort of curious to see this team, with Di Maria out:

    ---------Rooney----------
    ----Januzaj---Mata------
    --Blind-Carrick-Herrera-
    Shaw---------------Rafael
    ------Rojo-Smalling------

Push the fullbacks up aggressively, let Blind and Herrera try to win their side of the field with Carrick running the show.

At least everyone but the CB's would want the ball and try to play it to feet.

Louie shouldn't drop Young, he's been one of our best, most dangerous performers.

According to the MEN, Ashley Young could be out for this game

    http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/injury-could-rule-ashley-young-8814269

And we learn also from them that Shaw was taken off as precaution because he wasn't 100% fit and Herrera was a tactical change

Without Di Maria and Young, we have not enough wingers to play 4-1-4-1. I think that we’ll play in 3-5-2 this game

    ---------------------------------------De Gea------------------------------------------
    -----------------------Jones----------Smalling------------Rojo------------------------
    Valencia/Rafa---------------------Carrick/Blind---------------------------Blind/Shaw
    --------------------------------Fellaini------------Mata---------------------------------

    ------------- DDG ---------------
    Rafael-- Jones--- Smalling--- Shaw
    --------Herrera--- Blind-----------
    Valencia------Mata-------Young
    ------------Rooney-------------

    We might probably see this:

    ------------- DDG ---------------
    Valencia-- Jones--- Smalling--- Shaw
    --------Fellaini--- Blind-----------
    Herrera------Rooney-------Young
    ------------Falcao-------------

With the news that Young is a doubt:

    ----------De Gea-----------

    Rafael--Jones----Rojo--Shaw

    ------Carrick--Blind/Herrera------

    Valencia --Mata--Januzaj

    --------Rooney-----------

If Mata doesn't get a game here then I can't see him ever starting again for us !

Where does Rafael fit into your man-management theory?

How many games have we won since we stopped using 3 5 2? I honestly feel like all these formations with 4 at the back aren't working as great as we thought they would. 3 5 2 could be the answer to our top 4 hopes people

We started dropping points with the 3 5 2 which is why we swtiched to the back 4.

and things haven't really improved have they?
No buts its actually comparable believe it or not.
Since we had to swtich to the back 4 vs QPR:

    QPR - win
    Liecster - win
    West Ham - draw
    Burnley - win
    Swansea - loss
    Sunderland - win
    Newcastle - win

    7 league game prior:

    Southampton - loss
    Stoke - draw
    Spurs - draw
    Newcastle - win
    Villa - draw
    Liverpool - win
    Southampton - win

If you add the fact the players seem more comfortbale with the 4, better to stick with it. I actually think we improved vs Arsenal first half too.

what? I included him in my lineup at the top of the page. He played well in the U21s last night and is overdue a game. He should start against Spurs to raise his spirits too. Its been too long. Our right side should include Rafa and Valencia against Spurs (with Di Maria suspended). I would keep him as first choice RB until the end of the year.

Harry Kane will have a field day.

    2-2
Its at home and we are a dominant for at home - I am very confident when we play home games.
Kane is arguably, currently the best striker in the league (which is why I want us to buy him in the Summer and not a foreigner with no EPL experience); Kane will probably score, but I think we will win.

In the Arsenal game, we made an error with the Valencia back-pass (which led to a soft goal) and when we were attacking, we had a man sent off.
This sort of bad luck rarely happens, so I believe we will win this game.

When we finish a game with 11 men, at home, we rarely lose.

1-1 draw with a flat and slow performance and Rooney poaching us an equaliser.

What I meant was, as regards man-management in the sense of keeping morale up, and players happy. I am a huge fan of Rafa, have been for ages, his treatment is a cloud on an otherwise hopeful LVG horizon.

ah i see, well obviously I agree. He should of played way more than he has this year. Not sure why he has been frozen out. He seems to have been fit and playing at the U21 level now for like 2 months haha. Unreal

    Would love to see:

    _____DDG
    Rafael Smaling Rojo Shaw
    __Herrera Carrick Blind
    ____Mata__Januzaj
    ______Rooney

Chances are Fellaini, Valencia and Jones will probably play though.
