Perreira and Jesse finally dropped after Ole and co truly realized they are football frauds. Bruno coming in and reminding the ‘premier league’ coaches what a proper player looks like

I love that he’s back but I hope we are extra careful with McTominay.

    Good to see.
    De Gea
    AWB Bailly Maguire Shaw
    Matic Fred
    Greenwood Bruno James
    Martial
Would sub on Ighalo, Gomes and McTominay. Hopefully a good performance. Gomes beginning to get a bit of a role would give me some hope that he'll stay, but long way away from that.
Maybe Gomes will finally get a spot on the bench again, even if he doesn't get on at least being there is progress in itself

With Spurs losing and Sheffield Utd drawing against Brighton, you’d expect us to follow suit judging on our recent history when the teams around us drop points. For once I sincerely hope that isn’t the case and we pick up the 3 points to jump into 5th and go 3 points behind Chelsea with the better goal difference. Absolutely vital we win! I’m glad to hear that the two wage thieves have been dropped from the squad in favour of Gomes & Chong. The sooner both Pereira & Lingard are moved on, the better! Glad to have McTominay back! Think he will be on the bench.

    Starting XI

    De Gea

    Wan-Bissaka
    Maguire
    Bailly
    Shaw

    Fred
    Matic

    Mata
    Fernandes
    Martial

    Ighalo

    subs:
    Romero
    Lindelof
    Williams
    McTominay
    Gomes
    James
    Greenwood

    Score Prediction:
    Manchester United 2-0 Watford

David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Brandon Williams, Luke Shaw, Scott McTominay, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Angel Gomes, Juan Mata, Tahith Chong, Daniel James, Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood, Odion Ighalo, Anthony Martial

Think that is only 19, usually there is another goalie, so that would be 20. Those two will have sneaked in somehow.
Are Periera and Lingard injured or something?

Play 3 5 2. But slide awb into rcb and play attacking wingbacks to break watford down. A legit 3 5 2, not 5 3 2

I can't see Ole opting out of the 352 at this stage of the season, besides the players seem to have adapted to it quite well.

Mctom and Greenwood to replace Matic and James, who are both due a rest, plus I'm dying to see what a midfield trio of Fred, Mct, and Bruno can do.

    Fair enough.

Didn't think Ole had it in him. Not complaining though :)
For all of Ole’s faults I don’t think he’s ever shied away from a big decision like this. Hes been pretty ruthless and done what fans have called for numerous times. Sanchez, Lukaku, Young, Williams > Shaw ect.

@Damien you got one of your side by side tables things that you did a couple of season ago, so that we can see how often we drop points on the same game day as our rivals?

To be fair, he's been persevering with the two of them for way too long. This should've probably come a while ago.

I don’t think Greenwood will be starting. Probably Pereira or Mata.

Can't watch the match - have to go for a long lunch / lazy afternoon with some visiting friends and don't expect to be back home much before 18.00 or so UK time.

When I can't watch, it usually means I miss a stunning result. City 2 Utd 3 last year and City 1 Utd 2 this year, for instance.

    Are we really good enough for a 4 - 0 or 5 - 0 ??

Maybe without Laurel & Hardy in midfield, then might be.

You can all Thank me if it happens.

They are showing a Scottish PL game as the early game and ours and Wolves games are rearranged games. Arsenal v. Everton is the main game and Liverpool v. WHU on Monday night.
Make a bit more sense now. Still, you'd have thought someone could have figured it out so we had a prem game on TV.

Well we didn't have many other options did we?
We haven't got an abundance of options, but i would've literally played anyone instead of Lingard. Not only is he out of form, he's actually a detriment to the team. Playing with him was actually harming us. There were options (albeit not great one's).

I'm just so glad we have Bruno now. Sick of seeing Lingard and Pereira, hopefully it's the end of them.

No more of this 532 please. Has anyone seen the average position of Shaw and Williams? They essentially occupy the exact same space. Brandon doesn't really get in behind the opponent's backline and leaves Shaw doing the driving forward in an awkward left channel in the middle. The result is an average position map showing Shaw and Williams in the same spot - it's absurd. We're essentially choosing to play with 10 men. Dalot plays his right wing-back role properly albeit not being that good of a footballer anyway. There is a distinct average position difference between him and the RCB.

We really need to win this game and we can go fifth by doing so and looking at the coming fixtures there are hard games coming up where I am sure we are going to go into with a defensive mindset.

We play our best football in those games usually. Have to hope we overcome our performances against crap teams and then carry on our form against the big boys. If we do we'll be flying into the top 4.

That's a very cool observation actually, mate.
I hadnt paid it much heed to be honest, but it's quite a telling thing to notice and yes, it does make the formation pointless. None of this would be necessary if we had a top-class CDM.

12 players on the pitch should make us favorites..

Hopefully we get to see this XI. James needs a break & I don’t think Ighalo is ready to start. McTominay to come in to get some minutes; hoping to see Gomes as well.
