Depending on who's on the right wing, could easily turn into a 4-4-2, with Mata upfront with Lukaku.4231

At least you won't have a meltdown if we draw/lose0-0 or 1-1
Damn. Beat me to the joke. There must have been a better way to phrase that.
There was at least evidence of it becoming 6/8 at the back last season. So far no evidence of us retreating when playing the 352.I am saying that it's funny you say 4-2-3-1 is sometimes 6 at the back which is wrong and this is an attacking lineup. Keep it up with the arrogance.
LMAOSouthampton vs Swansea
I expect this lineup to be constant for the next couple of games, with the only rotation being at LB and DMF.Good lineup, much more attacking than vs Madrid, the only thing that worries me is we still do not have our best XI yet, every position bar Pogba, Lukaku, Valencia and DDG are still changing constantly
Those two in a midfield three never happened, except for Mkhitaryan in 3-5-2.Interesting to see who plays where. Looks like a 4-2-3-1 but could be a 4-3-3 with Mikhi/Mata playing in the 3 midfield.
Surprised Jones plays over smalling who I thought was excellent against Madrid.
You monster.
Lacking width somewhat, not sure Jose would entertain the idea in all honesty. That looks great actually if Jose plays that. But Herrera is on the bench and Mata is in.
Pogba-Miki
---Mata----
Rashford-Lukaku
That could work, but I feel Mata is a bit slow to cover the center in such a setup.
Now it's 8 at the back. Haven't seen it personally. We played 3-5-2 about 5 times at most. There was at least evidence of it becoming 6/8 at the back last season. So far no evidence of us retreating when playing the 352.
Will Joe Hart put in a MOTM performance? YES
Will our attackers be as bad as they were last season? NO
Will Lukaku score a goal in his first league match, for us? YES
Will Henandez score against his old club?
YES
Ladies, gentleman and others, prepare to have all these questions answered in the next few hours.
What are we supposed to make of Mourinho's statements he could play as rightback and midfield? Not surprised. He hasn't looked ready to be part of the squad from what I've seen of him.
Similar with his Inter 4-2-3-1 ??It's a normal 4-2-3-1, don't know why people predict another formation.
Matic setting deep, Pogba with a free role up front, Mikhi as a number 10, Rashford as an out and out winger, Mata as a roaming RW that drives inside to the midfield to give Valencia space to rush and Lukaku as a lone striker.
Very "Mourinho" line up I see.

In the strength of the Super Cup, Herrera, Lingard and Perreira deserve to be on the bench. Same for Pogba but it's hard to bench the French man.Herrera on the bench. Still not in shape?
Yes. I have been thinking during the summer he wants to build a formation similar to his Inter one. If he get Perisic I'll be 100% sure of it.Similar with his Inter 4-2-3-1 ??
Mata / Pandev more inside winger
Rashford / Eto out wide
Will Joe Hart put in a MOTM performance? NO, he will have a nightmare

Will Henandez score against his old club? YES, 93rd minute, for 4-1
Hopefully his delivery will excel and Lukaku can have a field day.Understandable why Lindelof left out but Blind was arguably worse in pre season. Decent team though.
Surely would be Rashford up front with Miki from the left in that case.Depending on who's on the right wing, could easily turn into a 4-4-2, with Mata upfront with Lukaku.
It's called meritocracy.What's with Lindelof?
He is not even on the bench.
Because this was the role he played last season when Herrera was his partner. The main difference is Herrera was a more of a b2b than a strict DMF like Matic us, so Pogba will have a more free role up front.Pogba up front and Lukaku as a lone striker?
Not sure how you can predict Pogba's role will be different, we're clearly playing the same way as last season.
Blind was uncharacteristically bad. His concentration was off and he was making some very silly errors.Understandable why Lindelof left out but Blind was arguably worse in pre season. Decent team though.
I do think it will still change constantly, depends on how the player perform today, especially both wide positionI expect this lineup to be constant for the next couple of games, with the only rotation being at LB and DMF.
So you didn't watch last season games against Celta Vigo, Pool,Middlesborough where we ended up at times having two sets of fullbacks and then the central midfielders trying to get in to the back line? Now it's 8 at the back. Haven't seen it personally. We played 3-5-2 about 5 times at most.
Sounds sensibleYes. I have been thinking during the summer he wants to build a formation similar to his Inter one. If he get Perisic I'll be 100% sure of it.
