No way in hell we're winning this one with that defence.

    Forest 1-0

Casemiro played CB earlier on in the season right? Mctominay can play there too. If we start those two we may stand a chance.

Punt it long, please do not try and play out from the back with the 4 that are going to start this one.

No way AWB gets dropped, he was very good tonight and much better defensively than Dalot.

I'd play both Fred and Casemiro to give our fragile defense some added protection.
I think our defenders would need protection from Fred

The thought of having to watch Lindelof - Maguire again is making my stomach churn. This club is cursed...
Just when we thought it was the end of this comedy CB partnership they have been reunited

Newcastle are going to Villa and Spurs receive Bournemouth.

Potentiall Newcastle dropping points but it may be a tough weekend again for us if we don't win.

We are level with Newcastle and are 3 points ahead of Spurs (with one game in hand for us)

So if we lose, we will be potentially 5th Sunday night.

Forest lost 4 or their last 5 games, changed manager so they will be hard to beat I guess.

Nothing other than a victory, best team to play hopefully (with Dalot, Mc Tominay, Fred, Wout to come in)

    -----------------------------------------------De Gea----------------------------------------------
    Wan Bissaka---------------Maguire----------Lindelof---------------------Malacia
    ----------------------------------Casemiro---------Sabitzer-----------------------------------
    Antony-------------------------------------Bruno------------------------------------Sancho
    -----------------------------------------------Martial-----------------------------------------------

Unless I dreamed it I think mctominay played quite well at CB the times I've seen him there.

    Rather him than maguire.

What a fecking time to be picking up injuries to your most important players.

Just got Cas back and now we have to do without Rashford, Varane and Martinez. Not to mention Shaw and now an in form Sabitzer.

    feck off.

No way should Malacia be starting this game after the horrorshow against Sevilla.. Same goes for Sancho..

    DDG
    AWB - Lindelöf - Maguire - Dalot
    Casemiro - Fred
    Antony - Eriksen - Bruno
    Sabitzer False9

Looks weird but with chuckle bros in the back, we need to control that midfield. Also afraid to start Martial in case he gets injured. But he might potentially start over Fred/Eriksen pushing Bruno more centrally.

Worst case scenario given the injuries:

    De Gea
    AWB Maguire Lindelof Malacia
    Casemiro Bruno
    Antony Sabitzer Sancho
    Weghorst
Given Martial won't be 100% match fit, I'd bench him and save him for next Thursday/Sunday. At least we've options; Fred/Eriksen could start and push either Sabitzer or Bruno to the central position. Should be enough to get the 3 points.

    [edit - incorrect post quoted]

Why? Have you seen Forest's form since their epic January window of Shelvey, Wood and Ayew? This is an easy three points even with the youth team.

Given our away performances, the best I can hope for is a draw! Quite a few of our players don't have it in them to perform for 90 min of a match and the ones that do are not available.

I have a feeling that ETH will avoid Maguire-Lindelof pairing. He will put either Shaw (if fit) or Casemiro in defence.

    Magical Manchester United.
I hope Shaw is fit, then I think we will be fine. We still have Casemiro, Bruno and Martial, so this should really be enough for Nottingham. I'm not letting my anger about yesterday clouding my judgement, this is a must-win, and it's all about getting an early goal and settle down. Even if it's Wan-Bissaka, Lindelöf, Maguire and Malacia at the back we should win this quite comfortably. Sevilla away will be another story for another day.

We are due an away win but I’m really not confident. 1-1 I reckon.

We just need to get back into the top 4 as we’ll inevitably be 5th going into this game. Still can’t believe Spurs won last weekend.

It's true that the Ten Hag system absolutely requires a progressive passer in central defence so that's an interesting shout.

This is one of those games where the commentator says before the match, "Notts Forest haven't scored a goal in 20 games".
We then turn up and they score 3!

This could be a stroll... or a slog. Probably will be the latter but can see us knicking it if it is.

We should still do these FFS. Maguire and Lindelof arent exactly going to win you the champions league but you'd have to be missing limbs to fear Notts Forest.

Only way I can see us walking away with 3 points

    ----------------DDG
    AWB-Maguire-?Shaw?-Malacia
    ---------Casemiro-Fred
    ----------------Eriksen
    Bruno-----Sabitzer-----Martial

Get the best players available that can do a shift on the pitch.

Everybody picking Martial but unless it was lost in translation ETH has stated he won't start him in this game to manage his workload.

Silver lining, Wout already scored at the City ground once.

Emotions running high it seems. There's more than enough players available to beat Forest. Calm yourselves.

Injuries have completely screwed our season - I‘d take a nil nil any day.

Win here would be really nice considering Spurs play Newcastle next weekend.

Bit of a Catch 22 - with injuries piling up and games coming thick and fast, we can't really afford to take further gambles with the likes of Martial and Shaw. But with so many key players missing various games through injuries and suspensions, then leaving available key ones on the bench makes the already weakened starting XI even weaker.

With Maguire and Fernandes available for this game, then I wouldn't rush back Shaw and would manage Martial (and Eriksen's) minutes by having them as a sub v Forest and then starting v Sevilla when there's no Fernandes.

Forest aren't any sort of walkover at home, but a few people need to really calm themselves down if they think us going in with a centre back combo costing over 100m means we're doomed.
