Antony has offered nothing again in this match. He takes the ball out wide, shimmy's around a bit with it, then passes it backwards to someone a yard away. Waste of time
Had a good half I thought. Set up a few chances and has been linking play around the box.

Had the better chances, good amount of possession just always lacking that killer finish.

What is this obsession with conceded shots recently? Who cares if they have 20 shots from afar as long as they were not straight chances.

We have so many average players. Seeing this...which top teams in Europe would attend a fire sale of United players? Thoroughly midtable.
Is anyone expecting that? Varane and Casemiro - even Bruno - are tentatively linked to Saudi. McTominay and Maguire to midtable clubs. Rashford to PSG, but that might be PR driven. We'll be lucky to shift Sancho and Donny. Eriksen could join a midtable club. The only player besides Rashford who could conceivably join a top club is Greenwood.

I think Antony played surprisingly well in the first half, if he keeps it up he should play against City.

Is Antony capable of doing anything other than receiving the ball out wide, doing a couple of stepovers, and then passing it backwards?

Really not sure who would have played in his place? Mainoo, Case, McT midfield? Amad at no10? Feel like he probably had to start.
Garnacho, sealing him as the rightful successor to both Ronaldo and Messi

but definitely would have rather McTominay under the front 3, but honestly I would have played Garnacho up the middle

No idea why Antony always has to aim all the way to the top of the net. He often has the left side gaping and if he would aim mid point of the net would have 7 more goals this season at least
Awoniyi is my favorite player to watch because he either looks like he played in the PL in the 80s or a baseball player in the 90s.

Not that bad. We have control over this game. As long as we don't pass ball to eachother like lunatics and somehow manage to score one we will be fine.

What I would give for United to have Rooney playing right now.

And I'm talking about 2024 Rooney, who would probably still do the job.

It is the lack of penetration from him, especially when compared to Garnacho when playing that side that stands out, desperately needs the movement around him from Dalot and McT into that right channel. to be effective.

think it came from the stat where they showed our games of 20 plus shots conceded in relation to pep/arteta/klopp/other big clubs where EtH has had us allow more of those games than managers who have been around for years

Rooney on the BBC at halftime talking about how our £350k a week superstar striker isn’t a natural forward that knows how to get in to dangerous positions, and that a mediocre Scottish midfielder is showing him how it’s done.

This game is being played at pre-season pace by both teams. Neither team look like they want to be here. Forest don’t give a feck because it’s not a league game and would rather points. We don’t give a feck because that’s been our speciality the past year.

Ya, its not been electrifying but he's playing decent and hit the bar- so inches from a goal is not offering nothing. The guy could score two and he'd be criticised for not getting a hat trick.

Usual caveats here that antony has been abysmal this season, but he's a struggling player who seems to really want to put it right and work hard - unlike plenty of others.

We're so slow. Build up is non-existent, nothing happens through midfield. Sometimes Dalot will pull something off that will lead to a chance. We've still had the better chances, of course, but it's joyless to watch.

We've been the better team and probably should be a couple goals up but not all that convincing despite the chances. I think Forest have been pretty poor but have had openings too.

Because good teams dont face this many shots so consistently? Its a consistent thing about us and our manager aint fixing it. So we should just ignore it until they go in?

I thought McT himself debunked the myth about him which Rooney has now just said?

It's like watching one of those boring Sunday afternoon games between two bottom half clubs

Shows we aren't in control of games and rely on brilliance from individuals

You and others ignored this stat during our good run, and our luck finally ended against Fulham

Maybe we need to show video clips to Rashford on how he scored those goals last season. See if it jogs his memory.

We deserve to be ahead, we are better than Forest tonight. Keep it up and it will come.
Disagree, they've had double our shots and to be honest should have scored at least one of those chances. Maybe we should have scored one but it would be flattering to go in ahead here, we've been poor again and Forest are on course to have more than 24 shots against us.

I mean he's only just managed the bare minimum really, but Antony has been twice the player Rashford has in this half. Our starving options are laughable though really.

What specifically about the tactics is working? Once again teams are walking through us.
You think the tactical instructions are play flat footed, half arse pressure the ball and don’t pick any of their players up? Lack of effort is still down to the manager mind you, but the idea that this is how they’re instructed to play is complete nonsense

Antony has been maybe our best player in that half. Good linkup play, barely lost the ball, good little layoffs that should have led to chances, could very easily have scored.

And of course half the posts in here are just whingeing about him.
