Hope to win this tie confortably, rest some key players for the FA Cup game and hope for an easy draw in the QF (I want to avoid Sevilla, Juve and Arsenal of course)

With all the injuries, suspension and the need of rest star player, It's probably the last chance for some player to show their worth, the line-up should be:

    DDG
    Dalot Maguire Licha Malacia
    Cas Fred
    Pellstri Sancho Elanga
    Wout

Cas is suspensed for the next four domestic games, so he will start; Varane, Bruno, Rashy all need to rest for future important games; Dalot and Sancho need to pick up his form quick and fast; Elanga, this should be the last chance for him to show what he is capable of; Maguire, we may sell him to raise fund for summers

Hope the backup can perform to let all our stars have a full rest, guess it will be a 1-1 draw.

    DeGea
    Dalot - Lindelof - Maguire - Malacia
    Casemiro - Fred
    Pellistri - McTominay - Sancho
    Weghorst

Strict orders to clear every ball out of the United half for 90 minutes. If the forwards happen to get the ball, maybe they can do something, but if this lot can't keep three goals out of the net, get 'em out by Friday.

Why would you rest Casemiro when he's banned for the next four domestic games?

    Team should be:

    De Gea
    Dalot - Lindelof - Maguire - Malacia
    Casemiro - Fred
    Pellistri - Bruno - Sancho
    Weghorst
Biggest issue for us is that we can't rest Bruno as his role in the team is too important and nobody can replace him while Eriksen is unavailable.

Very annoying these games and it's only the round of 16 not even a form of finals. As long as the results can guarantee United pick up some form in the league to clinch top four it's important. The team are competing in too many games without the depth to cover the demand.

I think Bruno, Rashford, and Varane need a rest. I would rest Shaw as well. That would be good rotation. We are starting to look extremely jaded, and all the players mentioned just played against 11 men for over an hour.
I wonder if ETH has a more pragmatic side to him - we just need to close down the shop.

Varane probably does need a rest but after the weekend it's the international breakwhere he won't be playing.

So their CB Luis Felipe will miss this due to a hamstring injury. Fekir still out along with Juan Cruz. They went full strength against Villarreal as expected.

I hope so! He has to start resting players, at the very least Bruno needs a rest, he's been playing every 3 days since the WC resumed.

Casemiro will miss the next 4 domestic games, and Varane has retired from internationals so will get a couple of weeks rest soon. So I'd start both on Thursday.

I'd prefer Bruno and Rashford start on the bench for this one and start v Fulham. But we don't have a replacement for Bruno, and although we start this game 3 goals up - so scoring goals isn't as important this game as it is against Fulham - Garnacho's likely absence means Sancho may have to move to the left and Bruno back to #10.

Presuming Sabitzer and Garnacho are unavailable, I'd probably go with...

    De Gea

    Dalot
    Varane
    Maguire / Lindelof
    Shaw

    Casemiro
    Fred

    Pellistri / Antony
    Fernandes
    Sancho

    Weghorst

Weather conditions worth taking into account? 27° sunny the weather forecast for kick off time.

My guess is McTominay starts instead of Mainoo and Varane gets the night off, but it is a logical Mainoo game tactically in that we can defend a bit deeper, let Fred get forward and Casemiro is sitting and Mainoo just has to keep the ball moving and cut off angles, which seems like all we can ask of him at 17 based on his style (he looks a bit like Bissouma to me, quality dribbler for a #8 and not bad defensively, not a gifted playmaker/creative type, though he's 17 so obviously too early to say if that's who he'll be at 20).

Let’s make like Resident Evil 4, head to Spain and kick the unruly locals ass.

Pellegrini even looks like a full size Salazar

One of my favourite stadiums. I was happy we drew Betis just so we could play at the Benito Villamarin.

We will go strong with a few rotations. EL is our route into CL if we get blown out of top four by bad refs.

If Casemiro gets a yellow in this game, he misses our first leg at QF. Bruno too. So I would rest them both and get them on if needed.

Do the existing yellows get wiped after this round or do they carry forward to the quarter final?

Is what I would start with, depending on the fitness of Lindelöf and Sabitzer. But I think Casemiro and Bruno will start. Both a booking away from suspension and both running on fumes so I would definitely rest both, along with Rashford, Varane & Shaw.

ETH doesn't usually rotate but surely will for this.

    Hoping to see.

With Garnacho injured we need to give more game time to Pellistri.

    De Gea
    Dalot - Maguire - Lindelof - Malacia
    Casimiro
    Fred - Sancho
    Pellistri - Wout - Elanga

But knowing ETH he will start his best XI with a couple of changes

Casemiro 1 yellow away from a ban. I know he'll play but he should be hooked if we're up at half time given the aggregate.

Do yellow cards reset in the next round?

As @Lemon Moon says Casemiro is on one. I have very little confidence Casemiro will escape without a yellow card, but in the event he does, it would be nice to know it'll be reset

After the quarter finals. So he might get it in the 1st leg and miss the 2nd. He should've gotten a yellow in the last game really. If anything, I'd rather he misses the 1st game than the return leg of the next round (not knowing opponent).

Thanks. Yeah that's far too many games for Casemiro not to get booked. Imagine he'll miss one.

In that scenario he should have just bought himself a cheap yellow in the first leg when we were already a few goals up

Casemiro should start but it’s risky. Isn’t he 1 yellow away from missing first game of the next round? Same with Bruno. No need to start Fernandes for this one.

Bring Casemiro & Bruno off when we can afford to and give Mainoo & Sancho some game time
