What a load of cr@p, don’t know why Jose bothered putting on any attackers when he has no intention of attacking or winning. Definitely going for a 0-0, saw it with his selection.
It seems that way unless its the players mentality. Hopefully he will bring some pace on when the opposition tire out if by then they haven't scored a couple.

I could understand trying to sit deep and going for the counter, but we've not being able to muster one. It's been a poor attacking performance. A good striker scores that header.

From the last two winners of the Europa league I was hoping we'd be the ones showing we belong in the Champions league.

Rant before the match, rant during Ht, I’m sure you will rant after the match even if we win.
How do you see us winning? Do you enjoy this shower of shite we see at the moment, which has been a constant during Mourinho's tenure here? I've backed him no matter what so far, would have backed him against Pogba if it really came to that, but this type of football is destroying my soul, I can't just pretend everything is okay and rosy, whilst the club and the fans pretend we are the biggest team in the world and what not.

Anyone would think we used to smack teams around in the CL or something. Y'all med to calm the fcuk down. So far so good, got lucky. Pinch a goal hopefully but, keep a clean sheet and we'll be fine
I mean that's true but when it follows about 12 similarly shite performances with the same errors people are going to get riled..

Nothing positive to say about the first half, something seems wrong with us. Its a massive game for us and the first time that we have been at this stage for years but I feel bored watching. The players don't look up for it either. We must cut out the horrible mistakes in the second half. Hopefully we will fashion some sort of goal chance too.

0-0 is a terrible result away from home in Europe.
Against a team who are basically unbeatable on their turf, it's an acceptable score line.
Not many teams are capable of winning on this ground (including Barca and Real).

Agree to a large extent, he put it in about the only place DDG had a chance of saving it

    Still a sensational stop, mind
Oh yeah no doubt, to get it away to safety is especially impressive

The reason Pogba didnt start is because of our defense. Just remember that. Jose knows they aren't up to it.

I honestly don't think it would make a big difference.

If we had N'Zonzi and Banega in midfield tonight do you really think we'd be dominating the ball? because I don't. There's something structurally wrong with us.
I rate N'zonzi, but Banega is a bit meh for me. Against a team like Sevilla we should use a high energy midfield, and with Matic in there, that's a no go. At least that's how I see it, we don't have a raging bull in the middle of the park, someone like Vidal back in the days(now he plays much forward than he used to), a Kante or anything similar.

But yeah, I agree, this lot should do a lot bette, something's off with them.

Smalling moved to mark the man open in the centre, that was in front of him.

Valencia was standing marking no one looking at the guy that headed the ball. He never ever slides across.

Exact same for morata goal against us. Smalling slide across to the cloest attacking threat to the ball carrier. Valencia didn't slide across.

As a defender you always work near post back. Smalling done his job. Valencia didng
Absolute rubbish, Smalling lost his man. The sooner he is replaced the better.

Once De Gea leaves this defence will be exposed to how shite they really are.

I expect this to be a repeat of the Newcastle game, Utd will only start playing once Sevilla score and then it might be to late. First half from Utd was an embarrassment.

Yeah I think we concede the 6th most shots on target in the PL this season. City, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal are all in the bottom 5.
Exactly this, yet people were scolding me when I said we are 2nd thanks to DDG. It's such bollocks.

Drives me mad that. It’s why I can never fully rate him as top class.
It's absolutely pointless. I don't understand the purpose of doing that. He's such a frustrating player with the ball at his feet!

3 man midfield, Pogba came on and... nothing. Pogba has been a complete goner, Matic is his usual self 2018 version, which means basically somewhere between shit and bang average. McTominay plays like he supposed to, he is not ready for a first team at United, needs a proper loan.
Anyway, another shit-show, we have like zero gameplan, all luck and individual class of players. And hoofs to Lukaku.

I don't like how reliant we're on De Gea. Without him we'd be 2-0 down and deservedly so...

Hopefully we'll pick up in the second.

On the 35th minute I was thinking good all round performance lets pick it up second half, but Valencia is getting so isolated against that trick LW of sevilla and Sooner or later would score or assist! Needs to step it up, as do young! Decent enough first half. gutted tor herrera

The players look like they've never played with each other in their lives. Zero cohesion, and can't string two passes together.

This team is missing a leader - they're playing like they're intimidated.
how we miss Abramovich, bailly and an inform Rojo, at least the latter two would kick ass.

The problem with this minimizing risk approach by defending from Mourinho, like we were an Italian team from the old days, doesn't really seem to avoid adversaries from creating danger, we saw the same last season in Europa League, that… we've won.

Its more like we are not using him in a way that brings out his best attributes.
Rooney used to do perfectly well when the team wasn't build around him and when he was shifted around to accommodate the team. I'm a big fan of Pogba, but there are minimum requirements that he doesn't even come close to IMO.

This performance was predictable. At least young has tried a few times to get up the pitch our attacks are always so deep

We're the chris eubank jr of football - no emphasis on being coached properly to attack.

Top class save by de gea. Id get martial on for mata

Imagine when we actually meet some good sides, like PSG, Real, Barca etc? It’s gonna get embarrasing if we don’t seriously improve soon

It is true that we have seen this type of performance under 3 different managers.

But Jose has Pogba, Sanchez, Martial, Mata and Lukaku. Surely we can expect some decent football from this lot? Manager deserves some blame here.
I don't know, I just can't see how the manager can be blamed for what we are seeing out there. It's just basic stuff that we can't execute. It feels like it's the first time they're playing together.
