They press and are excellent in possession. I don't think that particularly suits the style that was evolving with the first few games of our recently stable first XI. Would be extremely encouraging if we managed to get through whilst playing similar to how we did right after the re-start.

I think we're a better team than Sevilla and we should beat them, but I'm really, really worried we'll get caught out of we don't change, or at least tweak, our system.

If Bruno plays as high as he has in recent games, as a second striker, rather than in midfield, they will press Pogba and Matic relentlessly every time we play out from the back and we'll be outnumbered because Bruno is too high. If that happens, I think they will catch us out and score from a ball won in our own half.

If we actually play 3 in midfield and ensure we're not outnumbered, I'm fairly confident we'll win this game.

I’m not confident, they seem to play like Southampton on steroids
This is their tournament, they've won it 5 times, they know how to win it.

It will be a lot closer than people would care to admit, they're not a bad team at all. We're going to need some magic tonight from Bruno, Martial or Greenwood

It’s a really tight match up, shocked that Sevilla are 2/1 at the bookies, I don’t like betting against united so won’t take it up.

They’re a good side from what I’ve seen, and if they can press well like Southampton did then were in for a long night, hopefully we can beat that press and create loads of chances.

I think we will beat them but in a tight 2-1 game.

I find this sentiment weird. It’s the same as any cup competition. It’s not like the Europa throws up any particular challenges that Sevilla can particularly overcome.

If we show up and don’t look as leggy as we did in the last round we have a great chance.

It’s the same sentiment that United always score from the late 90’s. The team believe it, the fans believe it and importantly, the opposition believe it. By all accounts it’s ‘their’ competition, they are unfazed by it.

Yeah the tactic that we used to lose to Chelsea 3-1 is not what I'd like to see. Your know it all attitude is so tiring on here.
Bailly was injured, then we went with 4-2-3-1.

Maguire has been so bad lately that 3 at the back is the only viable option tomorrow. He really is a massive problem for us, very hard to see us winning anything with him in the team.
It’s funny how people see games and performances different to other people. Maguire has been far from a massive problem for us.
A bigger problem tonight would be 3 at the back and having Williams and AWB as our wing back outlets.

Bruno is my main concern. Sevilla's key weapon is their press. Pogba and Matic are as press-proof a midfield as you will find anywhere, but it's all for nothing if Bruno just gives the ball away every time he gets it the way he has been recently. He needs to rein himself in a bit and let us have just a little bit more possession.

We should really win this. Sevilla are not that great, but they play more like a team than we do. We rely more on individuals turning up.

    Start with Lingard instead?

Result matters much more than the performance. Don’t care how we do it, just as long as we win. It’s a knockout semi final.

    Starting XI:

    Romero

    Wan-Bissaka
    Lindelof
    Maguire
    Williams

    Pogba
    Matic

    Greenwood
    Fernandes
    Rashford

    Martial

    subs:
    De Gea
    Laird
    Bailly
    McTominay
    Fred
    Mata
    Lingard
    James
    Ighalo

    Score Prediction:
    Sevilla 1-2 Manchester United

How confident you all are feeling? Last month has been rollercoaster for United. It's so difficult to predict United performance as you don't know which United team will turn up. We were blowing team apart last month and now we cant string two good passes. Fatigued played a role but with now proper rest, its no longer a valid excuse

Starting to hope McTomminay or Fred might come in as part of a diamond to effectively man-Mark Banega for 90 mins

This team would enable us to stifle their possession dominance, man mark their best player and counter with Pogba/Bruno unleashing our front two.

Rashford has dropped off and could Impact from the bench.

    Romero

    AWB Bailly Maguire Williams

    Mctomminay

    exactly this.

Get Scoddy on to shackle Banega. Leave Rashers or Greenwood on the bench for laters.

    It's not fatigue anymore IMO.
Sevilla are going to be a tough team to crack.
It's not going to be a nice game to watch.
I'll save my predictions until I see the line up but I think Rashford needs to be dropped.

Only question for me is whether Ole will stick to his guns and play the same team from the previous round, in which case we'll dominate and likely get a convincing win, barring a second other-worldly goalkeeping performance from our opponent of course.

In other words, Ole's first real test!

Be very cautious playing out from the back and try not to be too cute in the middle with Sevilla and we should be fine. They're pressing is mental. Then again, if the heat is similar to the last few matches they are human beings.

Greenwood or Rashford would be ideally suited coming on for the last 30 minutes dependant on how the game pans out over the first half and start of the second. However, I'm not sure there will be much change to Ole's first choices. Basically same team with the exception of De Gea for Romero.

Don’t get me wrong Sevilla are a decent side, but we really should be putting them away with relative ease. The right setup is the key.

I mean, people said that about Copenhagen and then when you bother to look at the stats, they hadn't conceded more than one goal in over 30 European games.

This won't be easy, Sevilla are here on merit, they've got a good manager and they know how to grind results out. This won't be a walk over, it will be cagey and difficult

The usual starting XI but with Romero in goal and Bruno man-marking Banega.

Wouldn't mind seeing one of Fred or McTominay starting to disrupt their midfield either.

Get the team selection right, don’t leave Pogba isolated and need the front 3 in the game for 90mins and we’ll beat them.

Really looking forward to this! Two games away from a possible Europa title and we have already secured CL spot so the boys can go out relaxed and hopefully play much better free flowing attacking football tonight.

    Think we’ll see some changes:
    Romero > De Gea
    Bailly > VNL
    Fred > Matic

    3-1 United
Rashford, Martial, Bruno on the scoresheet!

I actually think it's going to be a great game to watch. Sevilla play with a high line because their defenders are fast as feck which could give Rashford the confidence he's been missing for a while if he has space to run into. On the other hand if we play 4 at the back (which I very much doubt) then Williams will be targeted by Ocampos/Suso and Navas and we could be in trouble. There's so many good contests all over the pitch which should make it a good game. If we give Banega time and space we'll be in trouble but if they give Pogba time and space then they'll be in trouble. Really looking forward to this one

I agree but I would still have Matic as the deepest player in that formation and I’d have Rashford ahead of Mason, who I think is currently more of a sure thing off the bench. Rashford isn’t playing great at the moment but on form he’s still the better player currently and has a good repport with Martial. If Greenwood starts and either him or Tony aren’t playing well then we’d bring on Rashford who may still not be his usual self. I’d rather start him and pull him off if needed.
