Sheffield United playing well and we have no midfield, this will be a tough game. Can see a 1-1 draw.

It's going to be tough, they are bastards to play against these lot, McTominay is going to be missed today.

Extremely nervous about this to be honest. After the results of rivals yesterday this just has draw or defeat written all over it. Only hope I have is some magic from Rashford or Martial who have looked sharp recently. Let’s hope we can grind out something.

    This makes sense to me

Enormous amount of hype and build-up coming out of Sheffield. Sounds like they’re pumped for this.

...and I thought we were a spent force wallowing in mid-table

Id be surprised to see that from the start, not saying we shouldn’t go with it but it’s a very attacking line up and the likelihood is we’d have Rash and James either side of Martial, rather than James as no 10 if that 11 did start.

I can see us going with 3 in the middle, hoping to see Garner although again, probably unlikely.

The only problem I see, is the aerial threat that McBurnie (he will play some part I'm sure) poses up against Lindelof.
I’d be worried about Mousset, he’s rapid and will more than likely be pinned to Maguire

No way in hell we're winning this. Absolutely no confidence in facing Sheffield United in the league, jesus Christ.

The sort of injury ravaged game against decent opposition (at home) where SAF’s genius used to shine through with some left field team selections! Think we may be surprised today with Jonesy in midfield for instance

Difficult to not see a draw or loss for us.

Hopefully our front players can carry on the good form and be clinical.

If we win a big boost for Ole. But I cannot see us winning this. What happens if we lose? There is going to be enormous pressure on Ole and Woodward to do something. I think it is the next league game that may be crucial to Ole rather than this one. If we lose both I cannot see him remaining for too long.

We have the big mo' at the mo, and little Sheffield can't live with us on current form. It's time to give the cannon fodder a footballing lesson in front of their deluded fans this afternoon.

Anyone would think this lot were world beaters the way some of their fans have been carrying on in the build up to this match.

I can see us breezing to a 2-0 win.

Think this is going to be a close game. Luckily for us Henderson is not playing. Would be nice to see us continue building up a bit of form. Concerned about McTominay and worried Matic might be playing. Think we will will win this 2-1 but hoping for a few more goals.

Tactically and effort wise this is a very tough game! However, if we match them for effort we should breeze to a win! Anyone scared on John Fleck, David McGoldrick and George Baldock needs to give their head a wobble

They are very strong as a team, hard to beat. They will not allow us to catch them on counter and we really struggle against teams where all 10 players are behind the ball. I think it will end 1-1 in one ugly game without too much chances

If the midfield holds its own defensively and if we don't see any damning brainfarts from the back four, we'll win this. Some of you make it seem like we're facing prime Barcelona. It won't be a walk in the park but come on... Anyway, it's also time we show we've learned something from our previous mistakes against compact mid/lower table sides.

I am not expecting much... since Ferguson left every time there is a huge chance to climb the table the players feck up.

Last season Arsenal game destroyed my faith... game started off with a huge chance for Lukaku and after that Lingard (not sure) also had a big chance. Xhaka had one shot on goal, DDG fecks up and we lost the game. Had we won that game, which was a realistic option, i am pretty sure a top 4 CL spot would have been taken.

But where does all this come from? We are playing Sheffield, not Barca or PSG. Of course we will win
That's what I thought against all the matches we lost this season. But we lost.

Sheffield is higher in the league table and this team lost to teams like Bournemouth, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Newcastle for example... why are you so sure we will win this?

I had a dream we'd be up to 5th, so yeah.
    5the place.
The stuff dreams are made of.

As little as 2 years ago, if we were dreaming of 5th place, that would be classed as a nightmare scenario and a sackable situation for the manager.
Our standards are now so low that fans have been convinced that 5th place is actually a fantastic achievement.

I don't blame Ole. He is a limited in ability and is achieving what is expected of him. I blame Woodward for allowing us to go from serial title contenders, to this.
No manager, under Woodward, can do well.

Internet, is this the appropriate place to say "Ok, boomer"?

This seems to be the thing to do nowadays.

If Garner start, Garner need to impose himself strong on the game. If he's hiding, nervous and not calling for a pass, I think we are going to lose this game

Yes it would be solely down to him...

Almost every game, except maybe 3 or 4 teams in this league, has the whole forum ‘unable to see how’ we could possibly win. Do you all expect Sheffield United to finish above us? Do you expect us to finish in the top 6? Where do you suspect these points will come from to finish top 6? Because it seemingly isn’t against any team we will play!

We have better footballers that Sheffield United. Significantly better even. I’m not saying I know what will happen, but it would not be seen as some sort of footballing upset if Manchester United beat Sheffield United.
