Considering we'll need to play Lindelof against Basel, hopefully we can give him some minutes for the last 15/20 if we're 2 or 3 up.

At the moment I just can't see anyone scoring against us which is a great feeling. We still need to try and get the first goal quicker in this game than the previous 2 as they can still nick a goal and then park the bus. If we score early I can't see it not being another convincing win.

This game could very much suit us, stoke have to attack us, giving us that perfect sucker counter attacking punch, it will be another scruffy tough match that will test where this team is currently. One thing the team never had last year, we never used the counter attack enough to our advantage, this year we using it and now we have the height and strength we can play different kinds of games.

    Hopefully its a 433

That would be good but he should be match fit considering he has just had two matches with Sweden. Smalling on the other hand hasn't had a minute since the Madrid match

Can't see us keeping a clean sheet. Hopefully a win but their stadium is not a happy hunting ground for us in recent times..

Couple of friends booked tickets for "It" movie starting just 3 hours before the game without even asking me. Gonna be a mad rush to make it through the traffic, might miss the first 10 minutes. Hopefully we will be 4-0 up by then.

Seriously though, if we can just find a way to get that first goal, we would have solved most of our problems. I see a breezy (no pun intended) 2-0 win here as usual. Last season's unbeaten run showed how difficult we are to beat, and I can see a similar run happening this season with a few more wins this time.

Same line-up. Would keep Martial, he is a better goal-scorer than Rashford and needs to build his confidence. Rashford is far more effective when he is brought on as a sub, he will completely tire the Stoke defenders out.

    De Gea
    Valencia Jones Bailly Darmian
    Fellaini Matic Pogba
    Mkhi Lukaku Rashford

    That would be my team.

I think Mourinho could play Herrera on Saturday.... Lineup:-

    ----------------- De Gea -------------------

    Valencia-------Jones---Bailly-------Blind

    ------------Herrera----------Matic---------

    Mkhitaryan-------- Pogba----------Rashford

    ------------------ Lukaku------------------

This could be the team Mourinho plays against Stoke, and I think it would be good enough to win 3-1......
That would imply changing the system to 4-3-3, Mourinho wouldn't feature those players like that.

I'm expecting Valencia to be rested for a few of the Champions League games and Lindelof will get a chance at right back.
More likely, Young. Although, I cannot see the manager resting Valencia in our first few Champions League's games.

We will play 4-2-3-1 until we lose or play against one of the big boys in the CL.

Mourinho is confident in the team; he always plays 4-2-3-1 when he is confident in his team.

Stoke aren't very good. We are very good.

1-2 (Stoke score first, Caf loses it's head, Lukaku and Rashford with ours.)

Same team as the opening two games. Wouldn't surprise me if he puts Lingard in for Mata though to offer some width. Mata seems to always struggle here and we have been quite narrow this season which could play into Stoke's hands.

would be a pretty symbolic win if we manage to get it - haven't got a league win there since Fergie's last season.

They've scored 2 goals in 3 league games this season. Maybe they do score but can't see how based on their lack of scoring and the fact that we haven't conceded yet in the league that someone could say "can't see us keeping a clean sheet against Stoke".

When has Lingard ever provided width?

Looking at this we should easily brush these aside.
But for some reason I am worried.
No logic to it at all.

Every reason to be worried, we havent won there for 3 years. Need to break the jinx. They are strong at home and we need to play really well to beat them.

You can't ignore the fact that we won't be going into this game with the same momentum. The international break has ruined it. Its easy to say that we should be keeping clean sheets against teams like stoke but Stoke away aint an easy game regardless of circumstances. Just check out the scorelines of the same fixture for past years and it will give you some idea about what I am talking about.

Never confident going there. They're always well up for it, especially considering we're their main rivals or something.

I am not worried about this game whatsoever...

I think we are well equipped now, to travel to these mid-table clubs, and come away with results...

If we are going to win the premiership, we must be able to beat these teams, and I do expect us to be challenging for the Premiership, and all trophies this season...3-1 to us...

I'm the most confident I have been in a long time about us actually winning these sorts of games. Can see us dominating personally.

Yes that would not be surprising, adding Herrera over Mata for a more combative midfield. I don't like Mkhi on the right, though. If we do it, would like to see both Rashford and Martial.
    No strikers on the bench?

The last time Man Utd won away at Stoke, Sir Alex Ferguson was the United manager.
    I see your point.
But with our current setup, I genuinely believe that we can squash any of the smaller teams.
I am not sure how we'll do against a top 6 side, but against the likes of Stoke, we should be able to steam roll through them.
If we have Rashford terrorising their right back for 60 minutes, then bring on Martial (against a very tired RB), the flood gates could open, as we have seen already this season.

The option of subbing on a top attacker on during the game, is a terrific option to have.

Waiting for the presser before I submit my team. You never know after the international breaks who is injured/needs a rest

I think certain to start are

    De Gea
    Bailly
    Matic Pogba
    Mata
    Lukaku

I know all that, but look at our squad and how we have been playing so far this season.
we should role these over with ease.

    But I am worried

Ugh, Stoke fans and their 'rivalry'. :houllier:

Really hope we can beat them and stuff it in their face.

    1-2 Utd. Lukaku, Martial.
