And you mean when big teams play each other in advanced round in League Cup they don't play with full strength ?
United played Swansea today, and we played some academy players. This doesn't happen if it was the same round in the FA Cup.

Moreover, the top managers have outright called the cup a waste of time. How you think managers still "go for it" is beyond me. They field half strength sides and slag the tournament off. Winning the cup is another matter, they do it more often than not purely from squad depth.

If it was an early round of FA Cup we'll sure rest the team as well. It happens every season in the first 3 rounds of it.

Managers saying this doesn't mean they're throwing it away. They'll still try to win it and will celebrate winning it.

They will celebrate if they win, why wouldn't they? It doesn't change the fact that their approach is half arsed to the cup.

And no, if United had Swansea in the knockouts before the quarter finals, as they did today, there's no chance we'd field academy kids as we did. There's no chance arsenal would field the players they did or city, etc. Because FA Cup is classed as a major trophy and Carling Cup just raises eyebrows whenever someone uses it as an argument of success.

We only fielded 2 academy players, though. It wasn't like we played with the whole U23 teams. Arsenal were playing a championship team.

Look, we can argue about this till tomorrow, so to sum it up no one won't disagree about FA Cup being more prestigious, but big clubs still play and try to win this competition as long as they're in it.

    What are you on?
Well after De Gea, Courtois and Lloris... I wouldn't say Cech has really impressed the past 2 years and too soon to put Ederson there. Romero is pretty much on par with them with his form over the past year IMO, definitely ahead of any of the shite goalkeepers that the English national team has or Mignolet/Karius and all those others. There's a reason he's been #1 for Argentina for ages now and has shown how good he is when played over the past year. I dunno, don't think it's that outrageous of a claim.

It's like "safe passing" is on automatic mode for many of our players. The only moment we tried something different, we scored a goal.
That too was rashford's brilliance with the flicks and tricks he's got. Lukaku does not provide that.

This type of play isn't encouraged enough IMHO. Lukaku isn't the same but he is intelligent, just like when he let the ball run for McTominay in one instance. We have the players to produce quality on a regular basis during matches and at most matches.

True for the most part, but I'd like them back up as our games always have a little more spice than your average. I don't think there's anything wrong with letting them know we still think they're pricks with a cheeky song now and again.
Yeah but they love knowing their pricks. Didn’t you see how they reacted to the Berardi headbutt?

They sing we all hate Leeds scum themselves. Trust me, a lot of my Leeds supporting mates love that we sing we all hate Leeds scum and take the piss!

I don't doubt it, I know my fair share of Leeds fans myself and have been round the block with them plenty of times. Piss (if you'll excuse the image) is invariably taken out of both sides by gallon loads .

As for the genuinely nasty pricks who prefer to do their talking with fists, blades and loose masonry I'm not interested in what they think about United our anything else in particular.
