I'll say 2-1 United. Falcao/Rooney. Draw at worst but a win would be sweet. I'll be up early cheering.

Same here man. I don't mind it at all. Just saying would rather be on English time but it's all good.

    YESHHHHH, We'll GOOO for it.
I can see that you're the type of poster who thinks that tossing around insults - "lunatic", "gormless prat" etc - makes you look good. You might want to re-think that notion

But to answer your question, I happen to think that comparing the results in equivalent fixtures can be a better guide mid-season than just looking at the league table. The former takes account of fixture difficulty so far, the latter doesn't.
We've played 18 games this season Glaston, which means that both Spurs and United have played exactly the same teams once, you massive massive weapon. You may be able to make a point about away and home games.

Judging from our recent away games performances, I won't be surprised if LVG starts with two holding midfielders. Carrick and Fletcher? :nervous:

 How can it possibly be better to look at the corresponding points last year when every team is performing different this year and thus why the table is different

Feck.. this game is at 5am.

I still dont know why our players are picking injuries in training. Rojo, just a niggle is missing for one month + lvg fitness time. Di Maria got sth like penis pain. Dont know for how long.. Shit.. I hope utd will fix this injury situations.

Not got a good feeling about this one. We are in a false position with some of our fluked results especially the everton and arsenal games. I think our luck will run out tomorrow and it'll be a comfortable home win. By the end of the day the gap will have closed to 2 points. 3-1

We havent beaten spurs in our last 4 meetings and if Dembele players today that could be extended to 5. He ripped our midfield a new one a couple of seasons back.
Im guessing Rose will be replaced by Davies at LB

Very hard to predict the lineup today.

    I've gone for:

    De Gea
    Jones - Smalling - Evans
    Rafael - Carrick - Rooney - Young
    Mata
    Falcao - Van Persie
What doesn't make sense to me is resting Valencia as he's our strongest and fittest player who I think is likely to recover best in two days out of anyone however I can't help but think Van Gaal gave Rafael a run out against Newcastle to prepare him for this one.

In which case I could see Valencia in the RCM role he played against Everton to add the steel we are missing with Fellaini out. Which would see Rooney in Mata's place.

I can't imagine Herrera coming back in for a start after being out injured for the last two.

The other chance is that Shaw is back on the bench and Van Gaal will prepare both him and Rafael as subs tonight with a view to start them against Stoke in a back four which would then allow for 3 players to be rotated out and a midfielder, probably Di Maria if he is also a sub tonight, to come back in.

    So much to consider.

    Jones-McNair-Evans
    Rafa-Valencia-Carrick-Young
    Mata
    Rooney--Falcao

is what I'd like to see. Assuming no returns from injury or, more preposterously, no additional injuries. Obviously Rooney to play deeper than Falcao and sometimes deeper than Mata, think this front three will link up well as they all busy, unselfish players - unlike when van Persie plays, who has a habit of hanging on to the ball too long and killing momentum. Valencia into mid will provide muscle, industry and pace. Was impressive there last time he was asked to fill on albeit that was a midfield 3.

I've given up predicting our away games, you never know which United is going to turn up,then there's our recent injuries...spurs looked very good against Burnley but I'm pretty sure we won't lose

    Last four games against Spurs:

    Man Utd 1-2 Tottenham
    Tottenham
    2-2 Man Utd
    Tottenham 1-1 Man Utd
    Man Utd 2-3 Tottenham
Time to buck the trend and get a win then.

That 3-2 at OT a couple of seasons ago was infuriating.

Our strikers will need to be extremely clinical to pick three points cuz I think Spurs will dominate.

    Glasgow resident these days.
It's going to be a tough game - maybe not the convincing United win many are predicting. The draw seems to be favourite prediction in the press.
These are usually good games - I can't wait for it.

Another match day already, gotta love it!
Not so sure about the outcome today though, expecting Spurs to really step up their game as they usually do against us.
    2-2.

Fancy us to have a really hard time today. Away form isn't great and Spurs looking much better lately. We'll do well to take anything from it IMO.

We battered Everton for 70 mins and could have been 4-5 up before their little onslaught at the end.
