I would be very interested to see if he benches all the big names and plays fringe players like Lingard, VDB, Baily, Telles.

But no way he's doing that. Imagine these fringe players realising they are only called upon cause he is likely a dead man walking. And benching the big names is a shortcut for getting sacked faster imo, there'll be massive unrest if he benches Bruno, Ronaldo etc.

Both managers want to avoid defeat. Both will go very conservative. Can see this being a draw.

    Ronaldo, Cavani
    Sancho, DVB, Fred, Lingard
    Shaw, Varane, Lindelof, AWB

That's what I'd roll out. Don't fecking press high because we suck at it, hit them on the break. Let Sancho and Lingard play freely behind the two strikers in possession.

Knowing Ole it'll probably be Ronaldo, Cavani, Rashford, Bruno and the good ole 4231
That team has zero pace to hit on the break.

For those thinking that OGS will bench his favourites - he has not done this in 3 years, why on Earth do any of you think he'll do it now?
He will pick the worst players who played in our last match - Maguire, Shaw, AWB, McT, Fred, Bruno, etc.

I would love to see some bold selections from Ole. Drop McFred, Maguire and Rashford. Give chances to Matic, VDB, Bailly and Sancho. You can’t persist with rewarding mediocrity.

Ronaldo Cavani, Sancho, and Lingard aren’t slow…

Also it’s about playing in space not just hoofing the ball to one player. Lingard was dominant on the counter for West Ham last year. The only guy that would really up the pace is Rashford but I opted for a better striker up top and Sancho over him for better technique and creativity.

Yeah I don’t think he will bench the favplayers,it’s more wishful thinking because I won’t watch if we turn up with the same formation and lineup.

This has got to be a free pass hasn’t it? He can ‘rest’ a few stars with Atalanta in mind mid week, and hand opportunity to impress to a few fringe players. If they are not doing it he can call his stars off the bench.

Lingard has to play. He is a goal threat and someone who tracks back. With Bruno playing risky balls and both Ronaldo and him not tracking back, it is obvious we will turn over the ball in dangerous positions and be caught on the break.

A free pass? What are you on about? Spurs are most likely our biggest rival for the final top four spot this season.

I've been asking for Jesse to feature in this side since his return from loan. He's looked impressive and always gives 100%.

But we'll win this easily. The players will be up for it and Solksjaer will want to prove he's capable of doing the job.

The thing is Solksjaer should still be sacked even if we win. The fate of his managerial career shouldn't hinge on one game.

Ole is never going to make a lot of changes. That would mean he does not trust half the squad which is rubbish. Instead, he's going to dig his heals in and play the same team with 1-2 rotated.
We'll probably see Varane back and possibly Matic partnering Fred. The front will be Rashford Ronaldo Greenwood or Rashford Ronaldo Sancho. Everyone else keeps their place except Pogba. In fact, I bet Pogba doesn't even make the bench. gotcha

Result depends on Ole's approach to the game. I can see Utd getting a result if Ole sets up to counter attack. If he decides to press high then I think Utd will lose. I don't think he will change formation and it will be the same team with Verane coming in for Lindy.

I suspect he is going to keep with the press that is "so close" to working, therefore, I think Utd will lose 2-1.

I would like us to win but I wouldn't be too devastated if we lose, if it means we hasten Ole's exit.

3 games shouldn't determine his future. There are several other data points in his years with us that prove his lack of ability.

Shaw is not the problem, Maguire is absolute shite.
Agreed. Shaw shouldn't be expected to cover for Maguire all the time. he doesn't have full faith in Maguire's ability to guard his area which leads him to be out of position

The only big name Ole has the balls to drop is Pogba while always then bringing him on after an hour. Based on the performances of the last few games AWB, Maguire, Shaw, McTominay, and even Fernandes, Greenwood, and Ronaldo couldn't argue with being benched.

I just mean team selection wise, as everybody is so fed up with Oles ‘first 11’. A few changes and bringing in the right people will fire up the fan base again even if we lose, and if it doesn’t work he can go back to type for Atalanta.
I don’t believe Spurs will be anywhere near the top 4 again this year.

I'm just going to have to watch this with the state of mind that the points are for the next manager.

The idea that a result here saves Ole is too grim. If we win our next 7 or something then I'll allow some hope...maybe.

Everyone dreading the XI incase he picks the same starting team but in reality that isn't the issue, it's how they play, if they decide to really get stuck in and fight then I don't care who plays frankly, I just don't want this half arsed, bumping into each other clown show..

I actually think we will get a decent performance here..

Can't say I'm bothered about the formation or the team selection, as that never seems to make much difference to the performance. For me the fascinating part will be seeing how the players respond after everything that's gone on during the last week.

Every poster here who hope we lose against Tottenham:

I'll buy you a Manchester City jersey and have your name printed on it, free of charge. Simply dm me your name and adress and I'll have it shipped. All you have to do is post a picture wearing it.
Every single one of us, including yourself knows that Ole is no where good enough to be Uniteds manager. Even if he should win at Spurs, gets a result at Atlanta and draws against City it's going to solve nothing. Myself personally if it means defeat at Spurs to finally get rid of him then I'd gladly take it. At United a couple of good games and it extends his tenure for another couple of months and solves nothing. So what Is the point?

I would love a poll asking “do you want us to beat Spurs?” - think it could be quite enlightening. It does seem like I’m on an opposition forum half the time.

Definitely agree Spurs won't be anywhere near top 4 but there's no way in the world that a defeat would fire up our fanbase no matter who he plays. Ole is standing on the gallows and the only way to stop the lever being pulled would be a convincing win.

A Man Utd fan who would be happy sticking with mediocrity knowing we're going no where under him, even nicer. Short term pain for long time gain.
I can't really fathom any fan not cheering for the club when we play. What a sad state of affairs.

Every single one of us here would like nothing better than for Ole to take us back to the top but as 90% of the fans don't think it's possible why continue? Sad state of affairs indeed. Let me put it another way. Do you think Ole will win us the PL? If the answer is no why delay the inevitable? We all know our board don't have a clue about running a football club. A few wins and sacking him is put on the back-burner for another few months. It's a never ending circle. If 1 defeat means speeding that process up then I'd take it.

Just because the next manager might not win us the league there's no point in sticking with someone who we know won't win us the league. It's not that complicated.

There's zero chance we lose this, imo. Unfortunately it just prolongs the circus around the club. Every single rival fan will be well and truly cheering us on. How absolutely fecking pathetic is that.

Remember when in 2019/2020 Ole had Tottenham and City in 2 consecutive games? And people said that Jose and Pep would destroy him and he would be sacked.
History is about to repeat itself.
    Ole's at the wheel, guys.
