Ach! We do need him; we look very short of ideas without him.

This is going to be a tough game. I know they capitulated at the weekend but with this being the last game at the Boleyn they will be fired up to win.

I assume Darmian is out also?

    Would go with:

    --------------------De Gea-----------------------
    Valencia-----Smalling-----Rojo------------Blind
    -------------Carrick----Schneiderlin------------
    Mata--------------Rooney----------------Memphis
    -------------------Rashford-----------------------

Not really happy about having to pick Rojo or Memphis but not sure I see obvious alternatives. Maybe TFM/CBJ in defence, Lingard on LW?

Can't see us winning this without Martial, though Rashford's return will be a welcome boost.

Because it's a hamstring problem so I highly doubt he will be ready in 3 days.

Edit: I've just seen the news that he's out for this which is no surprise that's why I went with Lingard or Memphis in my team.
Well, if we don't win against West Ham the Bournemouth game is academic in terms of results, and he may as well be rested until the FA Cup final.

Having said that, we have the ability to win all 3 without him

He's a doubt for the Bournemouth game too. If we beat West Ham I would possibly risk him against Bournemouth.

    De Gea
    Valencia--Smalling--Blind--Rojo
    Carrick/Schneiderlin
    Herrera--Rooney
    Mata--Rashford--Lingard

subs: Romero, TFM, CBJ, Schneiderlin, Pereira, Januzaj, Memphis

I actually wish Fellaini was available for this game. I want to start with pace on both wings but I can't do with Lingard and Memphis starting.

No Martial and Fellaini makes it hard to believe we will win

    Hope Depay doesn't play

Christ! when was the last time we were pinning our hopes on him?

They would have tried to combat him anyway. Going in with Herrera and Depay will give them something different to cope with- providing both play well

Fellaini does at least provide some fight and determination in the middle. Less likely to go missing like Mata, Herrera and Schneiderlin often do.

Depay offers nothing. Would prefer Young or even Januzaj on the left

Blimey, talk about clutching at straws. One's injured and the other hasn't been able to cut it in the u21s of late

Have you seen Depay in the league this year? Clutching at the januzaj straw is better than starting depay. Thought young was back from injury

Thank God you're not coaching us
You're acting as if Depay has shown something in the league? He put in a disgraceful performance against Norwich...why would you want him to start against West Ham after that?

Well I'll admit I'm wrong if you can cite one really good performance in the recent run of games

As far as I know he hasn't been playing due to first being dropped for showboating then subsequently being injured up until he played the last game vs Chelsea on his return from injury. So if being injured/dropped because of showboating is "hasn't been able to cut it" then ok.

Felkaini usually stands up to be counted in some of this big games.

Remember it was he who scored the goal that sealed UCL football last season .

Memphis and Lingard are incredibly average at best players who will do nothing when times get tough. It's all on Rashford.

Memphis was absolutely dire in the last game and has been far from impressive in many other games this season. I can only think of a handful of games where he has actually played well.

If he starts in a game of this magnitude (in the context of this season, at least) I'd be seriously worried for our chances. I'd much prefer us to go with Young, if he's available.

Erm... the post was about Januzaj and the U21s...

    DDG

    Valencia
    Smalling
    Blind
    TFM

    Carrick
    Schneiderlin
    Rooney

    Lingard
    Rashford
    Depay (Martial if fit)

TFM and Schneiderlin in the team for their aerial presence.

I don't care if this is their last match at the place, this is the match of our season. LVG needs to rile up the troops like he's never done before. If we can win this we'll go on to win on the last day and get CL, which would be a massive accomplishment in light of how dire the situation has looked for a long time.

Whatever happens, I'm just glad that we've been gifted the ability to control our own destiny. Did not expect City to be dropping the points they have.

    ----------------------De Gea-----------------------
    -----------------------------------------------------
    ---------------Smalling----Blind-------------------
    Valencia------------------------------------Mensah
    ------------------------------------------------------
    ----------------------Carrick------------------------
    ------------------------------------------------------
    --------------Rooney-------Herrera-----------------
    ------------------------------------------------------
    Mata------------------------------------------Young
    ---------------------Rashford-----------------------

If not Young on the left, Lingard...if not Lingard, Januzaj...if not Januzaj, pull a kid from the stands. Anyone but Depay.
