I don't care if this is their last match at the place, this is the match of our season. LVG needs to rile up the troops like he's never done before. If we can win this we'll go on to win on the last day and get CL, which would be a massive accomplishment in light of how dire the situation has looked for a long time.

Whatever happens, I'm just glad that we've been gifted the ability to control our own destiny. Did not expect City to be dropping the points they have.

If not Young on the left, Lingard...if not Lingard, Januzaj...if not Januzaj, pull a kid from the stands. Anyone but Depay.

This is going to be very tough. They always up their game when United come calling, especially when United really need a result.Remember 92? SAF called their effort 'obscene' when they beat his misfiring team in the run in, and they were relegated that season. When the whistle went they celebrated as if they had won the league the small time pricks. We had a re-run in 95, the day a win would have seen a Cantonaless United pip moneybags Blackburn to the title, the day every chance seemed to fall to new boy Andy Cole who had one of those off days unfortunately. Two agonising defeats seared into the red consciousness forever.
I was pleasantly surprised when we beat them in the Cup replay, I'll be positively ecstatic if we repeat that result.
    Hers hoping.
Ps, I know we didn't lose the game in 95, it just felt like we did.

Martial is apparently not available... that's not going to be easy, Memphis does not seem to play well, yet. Jesus... Januaz on the left maybe? He has a bit of pace, more than Rooney anyway.

This is nerves talking. We have won 11 and drawn 3 of our last 14 meetings.

Yeah. Not easy. Fellaini and Martial out. Mike Dean reffing. Last game at Upton Park so their support will be great. Still - our manager has balls, right?! Time for him to show them again.

Massive blow that Martial's out. Lingard and whoever plays on the left need to play out of their skin tomorrow.

They have conceded close to 20 goals in the last 10 games. Of course we need to play well but it's not exactly Atletico Madrid we're playing here
They give enough chances up to score, for me it's the defence that needs to play well.

Shit no Martial? :( Just need to be tight at the back and have some pace and creativity in midfield. Please not Carrick and Schneiders.

    No Martial :(:(

    I would like to see.

    ---------------Dave---------------
    ---Valencia--Mike--Blind--CBJ---
    ------Morgan--Herrera----
    Lingard------Mata-----Januzaj
    -------------Rashford-----------

I know that is wishful thinking though. Obviously Rooney always plays and there is no chance we will see Januzaj start even though I think he would be really up for it and feel he has something to prove.

I think Mata would be a casualty for Rooney and Carrick will play instead of Herrera. Rojo will probably be LB and Depay () on the left.

If Rojo plays, it would be a minor miracle if we don't let in a goal from set pieces.

Pretty defensive and slow midfield that, but since Herrera hasn't exactly impressed, I guess that might be the actual midfield. Doubt we'll take the chance on putting Fosu-Mensah there at least. Memphis did nothing to deserve to start this match either, but I could see Mata start though. Wouldn't mind seeing Mata in the # 10 and Rooney on the bench. He was weak against Norwich. When it comes to the LB, I'd prefer CBJ over Fosu-Mensah due to his performances there this season and cause he's leftfooted. Fosu-Mensah will probably play as RB or CM, if he'll get some playtime.
I don't rate CBJ at all. Mensah did play a half at left back for us recently too. Had Rojo in originally and would definitely prefer him to CBJ.

Their last game at Boelyn, no Martial, I don't have much faith.

Not been commented on - ref is Mike Dean. Against a team that create chances galore from free kicks.

    Well f*ck a duck.

Martial injured makes this way harder all of a sudden... Is Young alive? The only one who can provide decent pace and dribbling apart from Martial really. Wouldn't play Lingard either but then again there's not much else. Maybe Januzaj but that's more for Bournemouth. We'll probably see something like this

    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Blind Rojo/CBJ
    Carrick
    Herrera Rooney
    Mata Rashford Young

    Typical that Martial is out.

Their Antonio is a tricky one to handle, so I'd say put Young there. Memphis will be too shattered from tracking back to be any good in attack.

Watch DDG being injured in the warm up.

I just don't see who is going to win us this game. Fellaini and Martial were our two biggest threats in an unexpected win in the cup.

Yes but I don't think you have to be anything special to create chances v this West Ham side.
We've scored 10 goals in the last 11 away games. And most of them were with Martial.

And West Ham cough up enough chances to make that 11 in 12.
I'd also wait until the Martial news is confirmed. Why wouldn't they wait until the day of the match for a fitness test?

I could see Rashford playing out left and Rooney as the 9.

Did I miss the memo where everybody decided to stop calling it Upton Park and give it its older name The Boleyn ground, which no one referred to it by before this season.
    Strange isn't it.

It's like "the where? What happened to Upton Park"

If we play with as much heart as we did against Leicester, we might have a chance. We talk about how WHU are always on top of their game when we need a result to foil our chances of getting top 4, but how about the team shows up and actually fight for the top 4 as they should. Do we expect them to roll over and let us win because we need to top4? This useless bunch need to elevate their game massively if they have an ounce of respect for themselves.

    Hopefully we see this:

    -----------------DDG------------------
    Valencia - Smalling - Blind - TFM
    --------Carrick - Schneiderlin------
    ---------------Rooney-----------------
    Mata--------Rashford------Lingard
