They always turn up against us.
The 4-1 in the LC last month was them turning up against us?

And I would say the league game a few days before that they didn't really turn up either. Got gifted a free kick by Lingard inside 2 minutes and then got pretty much dominated the rest of the game but were bailed out by Randolph.

Hoping for a very rotated squad to avoid unnecessary injuries. If we had an easy outing today, we could have afforded to rest more players after 60 mins and went into this one fresh. I'd even consider playing Schneiderlin if he is available.

    Rashford
    Lingard Mata Mkhitaryan
    Carrick Schneiderlin
    Darmian Rojo Jones Valencia
    deGea

Really? This is our last league game until Liverpool in 2 weeks time so surely this game should be our priority? We can rest players against Reading and Hull in the cup games, we need to stick as closely to the 11 that started today, in my opinion the only changed I'd make is Carrick in Fellaini out.

    Agreed 100%.
The best football sides don't change their team selections. There was a statistic posted in the previous match day thread, which said that of the top sides, MUFC have made the most changes, while CFC have made the fewest changes.
The less changes we make, the better it is for us.
Carrick is the guy who I definitely want back in the team if he is available. And I think Baily is now gone for 1 month, so I'd love to see Jones/Rojo back as CBs.

Want to see our strongest team, but not sure that is the same as our best XI in a vacuum considering frequency of games and West Ham's style.

Herrera looked tired yesterday, particuarly mentally, and Fellaini's height would be useful here.

Relatively easy side to predict apart from left back since Blind had a poor game. When Bailly is back I can see rojo going there with Jones and Bailly being in the middle as the main guys unless Shaw turns it around.
Tough game though. A win would be huge but my guess is we'll draw which would still be fine. This not being at upton park makes me more optimistic to be fair, but still. A win would be huge.
Disagree with a lot of this, especially Rojo playing full back and a draw being fine.

The problem is not with the quality of the opponent, but that we had to bring out everything this game and travel to London and play the game in less than 48hours. West Ham traveled much less and have home advantage this game. For a team who is well versed in physical and scraps football, the little advantage in fitness level in this kind of fixture can prove to be huge.

We've got momentum now, everything feels positive, I think we'll win this by a couple of goals.

Think we can tweak the lineup just a tiny bit?

    -------- DDG
    Valencia RoJones Blind
    ----- Pogba Carrick
    -- Mata Zlatan Martial
    ------- Rashford

Harsh on Mkhi but we can sub him for Zlatan at the 60 if we need more pace. Herrera for Pogba to give him a bit of rest.

In the past few seasons, West Ham have used their physicality to intimidate our team. But this season, there's no way that can happen. We have the players to deal with this and give some back too. Herrera being thrown off the pitch by Noble was so embarrassing. It's our turn now to return the favor.

No way are we sending a weakened lineup out in this game.

I am worried about the left back position but everyone else picks themselves really if Carrick is fit. If he isn't fit, I really don't want Fellaini in there.

Just about scraped past Boro and I would like for us to be more convincing than that in possession as West Ham away is a bigger challenge.

What exactly is there a lot to disagree on? Our left backs have all been shit, while we have 3 very good center backs. Wouldnt surprise me one bit to see Mou play rojo left back when Bailly comes back if nobody improves as lb.

A draw is ok because away to west ham is a game we normally drop points in. Or one that big teams often do. Thats why its not the end of the world if we do. Of course a win would be huge, but a draw is probably the most likely result over there. Was the same away to west brom and we got a win so who knows.

Our players will be tired but they will also be tired too. I consider this a trip to Wembley more than an "away game" as London stadium has been shute for the Hammers and its definitely not Upton Park. Expecting a routine 0-2 win. need to score early and shut them down so we can do some some early subs to rest our mids. I expect Carrick to be back for this along with Rojones.

I don't think a draw is fine at all. We're chasing now and because we lost so many points earlier in the season, we can't really drop these points.
Yep. We need to be above spurs and ideally in the top 4 before we drop points for the players to really believe we can maintain our form. Dropping points after making up some ground without catching anyone could deflate them.

Playing at the Olympic Stadium will suit our team and I expect us to win this game.

Exactly. Winning all these games and fail to move above any of them and then drop points? Nah. As you say it wouldn't be good for our team.

I'm glad it's not Upton Park, much more confident now! It's a damn nice looking stadium though I'll admit. We should beat them 2-0/3-0 but LB is a real worry, as much as I love Blind he was picked apart yesterday I'm hoping to see Shaw back in the team tomorrow and that Jose can have worked a bit of the magic he used for Mkhitaryan/Martial.

It's more playing in London, which has not been kind to us recently:nervous:
We won in London the last time we played there.

Upton Park was a tough ground for visiting teams. The crowd was on top of the players and the pitch was small, so West Ham would bombard the opposition box with long balls which we couldn't deal with especially last season.

Playing on a bigger pitch will suit our teams players.

3 points, no excuses! West Ham will be equally tired, as they had a tough performance yesterday against Leicester which they lost. We have the momentum and need to make it count.

Same team as yesterday, with Carrick replacing Fellaini and the tried and tested Rojo and Jones back in. Any resting can be done in the next fixture against Reading in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.

    De Gea
    Valencia Jones Rojo Darmian
    Carrick
    Herrera Pogba
    Mkhi Ibra Martial

Edit: Darmian as Blind don't travel.

Fecking hate these twats. Mike Dean already in bed touching himself over the thought of Payet playing free-kicks into our box on to the heads of Carroll, Reid, Kouyate, Valencia, Obiang and Antonio.

Martial needs to start. Does he have 5 goals against them? I can remember the two goals in the League Cup this season, 1 goal in the FA Cup (first game) last season, two goals away in the 3-2 league loss.

Pogba also needs to start. He can have a rest in the next two games after this, Reading and Hull both at home in the cups.

A lot more confident than I would be if this was at Upton Park. Think we will win, and score at least a couple.

Can Valencia play this game? Mourinho has been careful resting him. But would he risk Young or Fosu-Mensah against Payet? Unless he moves Darmian to the right and starts Rojo on the left, which I doubt.

5 straight wins, haven't lost in 10 games and still in 6th. The top 6 are incredibly consistent this year which means that any fixture outside the top group HAS to be a win. Anything else and top 4 will become too difficult. Making for a great season though.

That's a misleading stat since we were so far off 4th. From 9 points off to 3 inside a month shows we are making plenty of ground up

Forgot this was tomorrow. That really crept up on us didn't it?

I'll be confident and say 2-1 to Man Utd
