Treating it like a training game, no urgency. Matic is trying to play forward passes at least.

Rashford had a good run then he Welbecked it and the defender got the ball. Matic had a shot from outside the box confortably saved.

They had the better attacks and scored a goal before half time. Mata is non-exostant and there appears to be no clear plan when attacking.
    Nothing new then.

    Thanks.

    Tuanzebe, Fred, Gomes and Greenwood.

Does anyone think they don't improve that first half performance?

Who would have guessed that Woodward's failures in the transfer market might have a negative impact on United's football?
I didn't know Woodward is the one picking the team and using the tactics we're using today

Why the feck Rashford looked like a guy having asthma?

Catching his breath several times, looks fecking sluggish.
Won't be surprised to hear he's playing ill later.
Fair play for him turning out if that's true, as without him, who would you even play? One of the teen wingers who have looked pure mediocrity?

What's he supposed to do with the squad?

How could the squad be fixed with a net spent of 30mil since he took over?
If he cant do better with what he has, then he needs to be gone. This squad is much better than that of WHs, but coached much more worse. Talking the talk is easy, but walking the walk is Ole's weakest point. And all his talk of different fitness level this season turned out to be crap too.

Take off Young, Mata and Matic and stick on Rojo, Fred and Gomes. Need more pace and energy. The lethargy in that half was unbelievable.

I admire your optimism good sir. Sadly, I think this one is gone. Pathetic performance so far.
Yeah, bit of blind optimism, but they look just as pants. If we don’t change what we’re doing, I agree, but you’ve gotta expect there will be a change second half.

    Feet up at home.
Nothing up front or even behind in attack. Bloody awful no urgency or dare I say even ability on show so far.

Remember when we had a prime Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo attacking the opposition? Well now we’ve got Rashford, Pereira and a kid from the championship! fecking disgraceful that this has been allowed to happen- embarrassing

When is he finally going to realise that Matic and Mata are finished? Totally done. Neither can run to save their lives and every time they get the ball they make a bad decision. Absolutely sick of the sight of them both.

Ole or no Ole this is just not good enough. Ole has been left with scraps with no striker a bare to the bones midfield and one fullback. But this is just terrible stuff from Utd absolutely nothing performance. Taking my kids swimming this isn't worth spending two hours on.

Look at how quick everything went. Where could the pressure have come from? The pass, the touch to set up the strike, and the finish were all pinpoint. The more concerning part of our side is obviously our attack where once again we are crap.
umm defenders are meant to close down space and attackers. our muppets did neither

I would sub Mata and Pereria for Fred and Lingard then Gomes for James.

Need to switch to a 4312. Rashford is frustrated and isolated so needs a partner. Have it be James with Lingard behind them. Matic sits with McTominay and Fred ahead. West Ham continue to play from outside to in. Mata doesn't have the threat of pace to drag his markers out of line, he goes deep towards his own goal when West Ham defenders are already looking for a pass behind them.

Lingard is only one who has played some senior football in bench. It says it all

Did you watch the other games? The team were pressing. They aren't doing it today and have fairly been fairly lethargic. Changes needed immediately.
We're pretty crap at pressing. Just compare it to Liverpool and City. It's not about effort, it's about coordination. Sure it looks like we're pressing because one individual presses, but that's ineffective. It's awful compared to his first 4 matches in charge.

I've literally no clue as to what Ole's trying to do here.

He's obviously not teaching the players how to move when we're in possession of the ball. Yet he's playing Pereira and Mata, who presumably are there to find space in behind, which requires movement, which he's not trying to introduce into the team.
If he's trying to "break down a team", why does it seem like we only have a clue when we're on the counter? And if he's looking to counter, why are Pereira and Mata in the team? The selection just doesn't make any sense. It's like City wanting to play Tiki-Taka and then sticking Fellaini and Lukaku in the team.

Pick a style and fecking go with it. If you want to counter, play Chong. I don't care if he's not ready, at least he fits that style. Now we're playing with two slow, static passers and two non-passing, non-interchanging runners, and no dynamism in midfield since McTominay hasn't been able to replicate his Leicester performance.
Nothing he's doing makes any sense at the moment. If he doesn't make changes at half time he needs his head tested.

What can you even say? West ham have a far better attack than we do.

We started off pretty well, but were always toothless in attack. Rashford can't lead the line for a top 6 team, and Mata would have looked lost in the 99 treble reunion game.

The goal was well taken though, credit to them where it's due. Can't see us scoring 2 past them.

It's not much better. Without Pogba and Martial the two teams are pretty similar.

We are probably better in defense but their attack is better than ours.

Noble had 6 seconds on the ball on the edge of our box.

Your 2nd point is correct though.

There is no Greenwood and we should not waste a substitution for defense if possible. Fred would make mistakes too but yeah maybe we should try him instead of Matic. I would try a Mata/Matic out for Gomes/Fred to see how that works out for us.
