Wonder if G Nev still thinks we're "Not far off", or that we'll win a title before Liverpool!
That was just spin for his mate Ole. No chance he actually believes that, Carragher was laughing at him. Thing is with Neville, he says so much rubbish that he then defends to the hilt instead of owning up to it.

Haven't you thought he's been very quiet so far for how clueless we have looked? We as a team this half are the exact opposite of everything Neville believes in.

    A little disjointed.

Matic made 2 very good interceptions and the only midfield player not to consistently give the ball away. Plus made some nice forward passes.

Rashford looks drained of confidence - we really need him so hopefully he can pick up.

Mata - not falling for him at the moment but he only needs one good pass to make something happen.

James and Wan Bissaka look very sharp.

Seems like I made a good choice in studying instead of watching the match this morning.

This is why experience is overrated, Ole went with that and look at how they have played. What does he have to lose by going with yoof? If the so called experienced people are going to get you fired, why don't you stake your claim with yoof? Go for it Ole. If he does not make any changes and come out of the half with that line up again, he will not last the season.

Really poor performance so far in that half. I was hoping we'd get to HT before their goal which honestly felt inevitable how we were playing. I was hoping our defense could hold up though.

Our attack had been non-existent. Very concerning. The one thing I can thing of was when Rashford was through on the left and inexplicably cut back in when faced with the keeper, allowing it to be cleared easily.

Cant see us coming back. Wheres the creativity? Who's gna provide the moment of individual brilliance? Who can spot a pass? Nobody. Our standards have dropped drastically. We are now competing with the likes of west ham and Leicester where a win against these teams would be considered a huge result. Our experienced players remain the most average. Mata was Terrible. Rashford just looks bang average too. Look at our bench ffs. What's going on.

I for one can’t wait for this midfield again next year when pogba leaves and isn’t replaced!

So many chances created without him as per :)

I don’t really know, did he still want jones? Or was it just a case of keeping numbers for the squad as we knew Sanchez/lukaku were also going.

Either way it’s left us in an awful position with only 2/3 attackers that make the grade, and 2 of those are injured.
I refuse to believe that Ole didn't want Mata around. They sold the players he wanted gone.

Just look at how much he plays him. Mata has not been forced on him

Do we even have a striker? Rashford pretty much playing on the wings. Mata has gotten even slower this summer. Wish we had Greenwood.

    Lingard on for Mata.
Wish we had a striker, like any striker.

How do you go from high pressing fastish football from when OGS took the team from last season to this? Just how? And don't mention "new manager syndrom" because that is crap.
People need to separate the Legend of a player from the very ordinary inexperienced manager. He'll always be a Legend but he's completely out his depth here. We were so happy to see the back of Jose (inc the players) that we excepted someone who was never ready for the biggest job in football...

That’s about correct for the quality of our line up. Probably deserved to be 0-0 but can’t really complain to be 1 down when you play as slowly as that and with no clear game plan

The problem is, we’re stuck with the likes of Young, Mata, Matic who are well past their best, and with players like Andreas and Rashford who are incredibly average.

6th place is our level unless we get a world class manager and some world class players. Sadly we’re paying for many failed transfer windows and failed managerial regimes.

Absolute dogshit. Ole looks out of his depth. We are no better than when we were under Moyes or LVG and certainly no better than we were under Jose. What is he thinking with picking Mata, matic and Young?
It's abundantly clear by now that the manager is not the issue, so until we find out what is causing this malady and how to sort it, it probably doesn't matter one bit who sits in the chair. We've tried the biggest names, we've tried the ambitious choices, all of it results in literally the exact same brand of deplorable football.

Look at how quick everything went. Where could the pressure have come from? The pass, the touch to set up the strike, and the finish were all pinpoint. The more concerning part of our side is obviously our attack where once again we are crap.
That was the last couple moves. Noble had the whole of London to choose from when he got the ball. But even the pass to him, there was no pressure. Once West Ham realised midway through the half that we weren't doing anything to close them down they started doing what they wanted

I don't blame Ole for this rubbish, he's not the right guy that's clear but not enough was done in the summer by Woodward, surprise surprise. Mata has been great for us but he's not the player he once was and no one in the final third apart from James has enough ability to link with Rashford.

This was the squad Ole wanted

Who would have guessed that Woodward's failures in the transfer market might have a negative impact on United's football?

totally agree. said it right at the moment they gave Ole the job (when they promised they'd wait until end of season). a few years at molde does not qualify you to be United boss. we are doing a Liverpool/Newcastle of trying to appease fan by getting in a fan favourite former player.

It is WH. They are stronger than us and they created only one chance. We are doing ok against superior team.

It's true that he's not the second coming but it's also true he's been denied the rebuild that every manager gets at a top club.
People here like to make fun of RAWK and others but boy our fanbase is such a joke, most people are directing their anger towards Ole for a while...
    Exactly.

None of the front 6 starting today would make City,Pool or Spurs first team.

Many of them wouldn't even make the West Ham team ffs.

Slow midfield and tamed attackers are the common themes, the score and performance are hardly surprising. This is where we at and it was obvious when we decided to go into the season looking like this.

I dont feel sorry for Ole at all, not one fecking bit, people saying Matic playing nice, if thats nice play from DM, God help us.

Why is Mata starting, whats the point, if he subs Mata, he will bring Lingard,

Football aint sport of us, simple, we dont know how to play this game. We can spam about quality all day, expectation on individual brilliance, which i find really dumb. All of this isnt only on quality, stop being deluded, they clearly dont know what they doing out there. The amount of time people were asking a question like "what they doing on the training ground" in the last 6 years.

I would rather have Fellaini than Mata. Ole has to go. Only an imbecile would sell all these players and not replace them. Why Mata and Pereira?

We can just get by if we have the first X1 all present and on form.

Drop down from that, and we're struggling a bit.

Take Pogba, Martial, Shaw and dare I even say it Lingard out, and it's pure average, middle of table stuff.

Another goal conceded because Matic refuses to tackle, press or do pretty much anything that might hinder the opposition.

Having said that he's not been the worst player. Mata and Rashford have been horrendous.

We really need to bring Fred in for Matic and Gomez for Pereira. Even if people think that Gomes isn't ready, is he a worse option than what Pereira brings to the team.

    It's all
We're walking round the pitch like we're half asleep. West Ham put one quality move together and we can't handle it. It's embarrassing to see.

I wonder if Neville will rip into the team like he would do for anyone else? Or will he stay silent for his mate? He's been very quiet so far.
