Whatever people think of Ole and Jose fact is that we gave the lesser manager a weaker squad after a disastrous season. Ole doesn't stand a chance to even show if he can handle the job.
I do realise we have hamstrung him, but I still do not think he was up to the job. He may have done better somehow if he had at least got a strong squad of players.

So what was needed to be done to not concede that goal?
Not concede a dumb fk would be a good start, but like I said in the post you just quoted; sometimes you just have to hold your hands up to a perfectly executed freekick.

It's not Ole's fault we wasted 50m on the likes of Fred. Still can't work out the purpose of this guy
Play the fecker then and let him prove his worth, dont bring him on for Matic when we're losing. Fred should never start behind Matic

Feck sake...the state of this squad.

This is the worst case scenario, martial injured, Greenwood injured..you left with an out of breath Rashford. What the feck are we going to do when Rashford injured now?

Im turning into a negative poster.
Even for the most positive poster it's hard to see this season being anything more than a minor cup season.
Perhaps hope for a youngster or two to develop?

Yeah true. One chance, though. Yippee.
It was at a crucial moment in the game. Very early on in the second half and we have (this season at least) seemed to wake up a little after scoring a goal. Unfortunately, it's a major chance wasted that has cost us.

We all know this will be a long time before we are winning trophies again but I would still prefer a better manager take us through this rebuild and one who would have shit the bed after not having forwards and midfielders replaced in the summer. I didn’t really rate Ole and didn’t want him last season. Now though I truly believe him to be nowhere near up to the task. His brilliant 8 game winning streak has been replaced with losing 1 in 2.5 games with tactics being non existent and substitutions being a joke. The coaching on a whole must be a shambles.

This Manchester United team is really bad in most positions and the results are showing exactly this. Manchester United is the most ineptly run club in the premier league. This club need a reset and start with new football people from the top down as the current setup are massively outside of their ability range.

    Neville is terrible.
He says the youngsters aren't the problem, its the experienced players. Then names matic, mata, de gea and lindelof. Never mind that young, maguire and lingard are experienced players. Rashford is too to some extent.

He just wont ever criticise ole or English players

Yes, I don't think any of the managers have been properly back ever since the Glazers arrived, SAF included.
The fact that they have the odd panic spending spree to bring some EW sanctioned marquee signings to the club doesn't change that in my view. If you don't see it that way, we'll just have to agree to disagree.
It's not about agreeing, you are entitled to your opinion but 900m amounts to the money to buy players. What does properly back mean? Humour me....

Young,Mata,Matic as senior players are a joke. They should not play again for us. Play Gomes,Chong,Williams and Garner. They can move around, have talent and a bright future.

This club couldn't be in a more of a rock and a hard place if it tried. Just need this season to be over, by next summer we'll have a squad. Right now we barely have 11 players, let alone 11 decent players.

Don't worry, that's going to happen. On minute 85 but still!
Yep. I called it early. Just saying haha

We just had to put up with an accumulative 70 mins more of watching these two...who to most are quite clearly passed it.

I can see what Solskjaer is doing. And regardless of today’s result/performance, I remain glad that Lukaku and Sanchez have been shipped out. Likewise Smalling.

Truth be told. We have 15 good players that could form the base of a team that doesn’t play miserable football. The clear out must continue

That’s a very dangerous game to play though because as we’ve seen today, what happens when you don’t score? You can’t just go into games hoping to stumble into some rhythm, or hoping a lucky goal will kick start your match.

You need to score goals as a result of good play. Doing it the other way round is not a long term route to success.

Shit team selection is his doing, lack of tactics is his doing, lack of motivation is his doing, lack of in game changes is his doing, subs either too late or not correct is his doing. The squad is terrible, but you can beat West ham with what we have available. Ole just doesn't know how to.
    I'm with this...

Ole promised one thing approach wise....has shown an absolute other...is playing Mourinho tactics worse than the man himself...and has not implemented anything into the attacking play which stretches teams beyond hit into the channeles and hope.

    The formation is wrong.
    The tactics are wrong.
    The transitions are wrong.
    The positioning is wrong.
The manager....is getting exceptionally close to proving once and for all that he is wrong for this club.

And what good would the ball bouncing off Lukaku have done us today?
I’m not saying keep Lukaku, even though these are the exact games he would score a scruffy goal in.

I’m saying, don’t sell Lukaku, and have absolutely no plan to replace him. He was training with another club FFS, it was obvious he was leaving all summer, and the club did absolutely nothing to replace him, and as a result we could play for the whole weekend against West Ham and not score. Playing for a 0-0 would have been a wiser move

I’m being serious, players there today have done it at the top level at least, or are young enough to be classed as potentially being Prem quality such as James or Rashford... but besides that purple patch under LvG Lingard has been embarrassingly shit. Needs to fecking do one

    Me too....

He might well be in deep water, he might not have the knowledge for this level but give him the fecking tools to do the job! This is just infuriating! I'm fuming after this shit display!

Got Utd Arsenal ticket after Utd banged in the third against Chelsea. Optimistic d Feck I know.

What are we doing? I don't see a way forward.

If Utd are this bad against the amazing Hammers I dread next Monday night.

    Long fecking journeys home ahead.

    Worst state in 35 years

Awful performance. Ole has to go. The next four games could seriously result in zero points...
If we loose 5 games in a row then Ole needs sacking. At the end of the day he chose to get rid of Lukaku and Sanchez, neither of them are great but they are levels above LINGARD up front ffs.

He has no idea how to manage a squad over the course of an english season and is just massively naive and inexperienced at this level.

I honestly can't think of many managers in the PL I wouldn't prefer to have over OGS. Except maybe Steve Bruce.

I'd be fairly confident Ole wanted a replacement and Woodward/The board didn't get it done. There was no way Lukaku was staying or would have been motivated if he did so he had to go.

The thing that baffles me, is that we don't play anything like we did in those 8 games out of 10 we won when he initially took over. The pressings the fluidity, the movement between players, runs into space or in behind. It's all gone

Have we got zero strikers currently playing for the younger ages?

Honestly experienced or not you've got to have a striker on the field, you can't expect wingers to know how to play as strikers. It's a complete joke.

I'm not justifying the way that the team reacts to scoring goals or their inability to be more proactive before scoring. Simply saying that goals change games. Had that Mata chance gone in, it may have been a different second half. I completely agree that the team should be proactive from kick-off and always looking to get the goals, but the reality is that (for whatever reason) we seem to look nervous and unsure until we score our first goal.

However you look at it, it was still an overall poor performance and not too dissimilar to our many other performances this season.

The problem is...we can give him the time...the club have successfully down managed expectations to a point where most of us are nigh on accepting of the fact we are now lucky to be a top 6 side...BUT, the players will stop working for him as the negativity continues. So even when the board and the fans get to a point of acceptance...the players will behave and create an atmosphere that will preclude patience and will demand Ole is removed. Such is the modern day mantra.
