It doesn't have be so final as been 'over', or as been 'done', like so many people have repeated over and over again on this thread.
The moment it's off United will do some sort of press briefing, either that or tell us we've signed him, until then either option could still happen.
Ronnie playing 4D chess saying it's about transfers when it's actually about CL football, but isn't sure at this point if a CL club will want him, so is pretending it's about transfers. Which means he can stay if he doesn't get a CL club to take him, as we're obviously going to sign some...
Can be no dount it's the right thing that he leaves, he's just not built for the sort of season we have coming up.
I hope Bayern offer us half what they get for Lewandowski, then we can all move on, Ronaldo will get another league title, and the a few more goals in the CL that he craves.
Assuming we get Antony, then surely ETH can make something out of Antony, Bruno, Rashford, Martial, and Sancho as a functioning front three, with Elanga, Garnacho, and Amad, potentially stepping up as well.
Why? They must be expecting this anyway, reading their forum not even sure many really care.
I don't think I'd have gone mental if we'd have said Lukaku wasn't leaving just before he went, more so I would have been more likely to go mental if we'd said he was staying and then went the following...
Clubs like Chelsea and City haven't had the sort of management we've had over the last few years.
We seem to have a unique ability at making good players look bad, so you're never quite sure where you are with them.
If he's saying it for the right reasons and is able to stay professional if he still doesn't play much then no. It's not like it's impossible for him to be an option again given the players ahead of him right now either.
And tbf we have Jones and Tuanzebe that need to moved on first anyway.
I think people get that, but we could end up buying five players on that basis this window, so they still need to be good enough, as they'll be the ones we're looking at to improve the team, and they'll all be on decent money and long contracts.
