    Vlahovic to us?

I don’t disagree with any of the actual financial analysis. Sure, Gyokeres will cost more, it’s a bigger swing. And you have an issue in moving him on if he fails, all true. Delap isn’t available, as you mention. I’d be happy to bring him in as...

Exactly. Delap, Osihmen, Sesko, whoever we CAN get, gotta be better than Hojlund

I actually don’t think aerial goals are a big part of Amorim’s system… he wins about 50% of duels, but he’s in the 16th percentile of aerials won. Which tells me the system doesn’t create a lot of aerial balls into the box. On the other hand...

There was a pretty long feature article on him awhile ago, talking about his rise to stardom. It really started 3 or 4 seasons ago with Coventry. Maybe it was a puff piece, but his mentality to be the best really stood out to me. There’s a line...
  • I get it. Let the dust settle. And depressing. We all need a mental health break!
  • I think we need a poll @golden_blunder @Solius I agree with this.
  • Klopp had Can, Milner, Coutihno, Firmino, Lallana, Henderson, Benteke… we have Garnacho Hojlund, Bruno….
  • He’s not. SAF was 11th, started in Nov of 1986. The worst thing would be to compare him to SAF. It would be nice to find the next great Man Utd manager… SAF wasn’t Busby either. We don’t know if he will work out.
  • My point is that good managers / coaches come from all kinds of leagues. It’s not a defining characteristic of a successful coach. PL league knowledge is definitely an advantage, but not the only attribute. Big Sam knew the PL like few before...
  • Then there is Jose, and Nuno and others that have fared just fine in the PL. Don’t get me wrong, he absolutely has accountability here, just not 100% accountability. More like 30% for me.
  • Alternate theory: Hojlund is so abysmal in movement and finishing and hold up play, no one could’ve gotten us past mid table with him as a first choice striker. Zirkzee injured means he really had no other options. Secondly, many of the leaked...
  • I feel like Real Madrid could play a 3-4-2-1 pretty well… They have enough in the squad. I think Hojlund might be the worst first choice striker for Man United in living memory.
  • It seems the polarization exists already, but you might be right, putting up a poll might ratchet it up a few levels.
  • I’m currently in favor of keeping him. But, we need nuance here in the Caf and I wouldn’t be disappointed if he was sacked. Just looking at his PL record and I have the urge to hurl. It’s not fair that this is not his squad. It’s not fair that...
