  1. Erik Ten Hag appreciation thread

Thank you, Erik. I'm sorry this didn't work out but the parting is best for both parties here. I liked his hiring, and believed we were moving in the right direction manager-wise. Unfortunately, in the end, whatever he was trying to implement did not come to pass. We can blame it on the...
  2. Ten Hag sacked | Ruud appointed Interim Manager

Indeed, that is my hope as well. That with this new hierarchy, including a sporting director, can mean that we look for/find managers that fit the system/player profiles we already have in place so we don't require a complete overhaul of players as well with each coaching change.
  3. Ten Hag sacked | Ruud appointed Interim Manager

Isn't that what we thought we were doing with LVG, Jose and Erik? Obviously I agree with you and this post is in jest. The last ten years has just diminished my confidence in us being able to do that, so all I can resort to is the ridiculous and hope to be pleasantly surprised.
  4. Ten Hag sacked | Ruud appointed Interim Manager

So we've tried: A manager anointed by our outgoing legend as his successor (Moysay) A builder known for building teams but usually departing before the team reaps the rewards of his foundation (LVG) A pragmatist and volatile manager known for bringing the best out of his players whilst playing...
  5. If you had to show one football match to make somebody fall in love with football, what would it be?

To this day, I still watch the 1982 World Cup documentary - "G'olé!" - at least a couple of times a year. That was a world cup filled with quality, drama, beauty and excitement...And to top it all off, it has Sean Connery as the narrator. The way he describes the defensive measures that teams...
  6. If you had to show one football match to make somebody fall in love with football, what would it be?

This would be mine without a doubt. All the context behind it... Brazil just needing a tie and still going all out attack Fantastic ebb and flow to the game World Cup darlings defeated by a pragmatic with individual brilliance side The players quality - Zico, Falcao, Socrates, Eder, Junior...
  7. Post match vs Southampton

Rewatched the match last night, and the narrative around "Southampton dominated for 30 minutes" is quite far from reality on second watching. It felt like it at the time, maybe due to the commentators as well who jump on any instance of an opposition controlling the play against Utd for a period...
  8. Southampton vs Manchester United

I actually really like what I've seen from Reijnders for the Dutch NT, not just this past week but in the Euros as well. I wouldn't be totally against making a run at getting him in the next couple of transfer windows.
  9. John Brooks

I think it was Mac Allister, who was already on a yellow, on Harry. I couldn't believe that call. 2 deflected goals against and a foul for their third, and we still won. Good times!
  10. Omar Berrada | Man Utd CEO

Haha, the first to post this amazing-ness!
  11. Post match vs Wigan Athletic

Efficiency by our forwards was very lacking as has been said, but some of the claims in here such as "Wigan were made to look like a Premier league side until the penalty" are just bizarre. If you take this match on its own, it was a routine away win against a lower league side. However, taking...
  12. Sheffield United vs Manchester United

I felt the exact same. I found it very strange. I just sat here, emotionless. Not relief, not joy, just nothing... Strange time to be a United fan.
  13. Erik ten Hag vs Sancho | Sancho back in full training

Someone really likes drama, don't they? Precious!
  14. Post match vs Arsenal

That was a tough loss. Quite an even match, with not many chances on either end, and I think a draw woud have been a fair result but that's football. I thought Dalot did very well and controlled Saka quite well. Eriksen played well also. Lindelof, Antony, Hojlund all put in great shifts. I...
