  • Just because I enjoy these sort of thought experiments, but if you got Tuchel in which players in these positions would suit his kind of management? I imagine with the players he would inherit, it would be something pretty similar to what he's...
  • Looking forward to this one. Both of these managers are at their best in the CL as opposed to in league campaigns. I think Bayern has a bigger chance of progressing than they're being given, although Madrid's attack against Dier/De Ligt would...
  • I think he can but that's sort of like learning to run when at the moment we're just learning to crawl. It's going to take time. What's absolutely necessary is to get the recruitment right this summer. We can't mess it up and spend another...
  • Tuchel finished 4th and won the CL, then third, and then shortly into the next season was sacked and Potter came in and saw Chelsea to 12th in the league. Todd Boehly had that same thought and I'm sure massively regretted it. Tuchel has had a...
  • We still have players that are most suited to the transitional style of Jose/Conte. They struggle to break down a low block. But I'm not sure why we signed some of the players we did after Ange was appointed if we're trying to be a...
  • This I've been saying for a while. Basically a 2-3-5 formation in possession, and anyone can see that leaves so much space in the wide areas on the counter. Both Newcastle and Fulham exploited that. I thought our shape was a bit better today...

I think he fought with Leonardo over PSG not signing any players. After PSG reached the CL final, they lost Thiago Silva, Cavani, Meunier, and other players and didn't really bring anyone in. So I think he was disappointed with not building on...

Points per game wise they're still about the same as the top 3 teams in the Premier League. And made pretty light work of Arsenal in the CL. Tuchel doesn't seem great with signing players, but as a coach and tactician he's really good imo. He...
  • Must admit I haven't watched Bologna this season but they've only scored 48 goals in 33 games (and conceded 26). So I assumed he was another stereotypical, low-risk Italian manager. What am I missing?
  • SirBillNic replied to the thread Eberechi Eze - Crystal Palace.
I'm not sure we would pay the kind of money Palace would want, but I'd love him at Spurs. He's a bit different than either Son or Maddison, and Maddison been pretty hit or miss lately. Same with Olise, I think he would really improve us in the...

Any chance Madrid sell him? I'd love him at Spurs :D Can't wait for the Madrid/Bayern ties, should be interesting. Kane vs Bellingham

I haven't seen that many Madrid games this year so basing this off a limited sample size, but Bellingham looks much more like an 8 than a 10 to me even though he plays in that position. Reminds me a bit of Gerrard somehow.

True, probably a big pull for French players which is a pretty good thing these days. I'm still not really convinced that there's enough evidence to guarantee that he would be a success, but probably the best option you could get. Still think...

Well you've been a mess because you've had all the wrong managers, which happens because the people who pick the managers have been clueless. Most clubs in football are a mess most of the time, punctuated by short periods of time not being a...

Agree that it definitely shouldn't be a stick used to beat him with. People talk about money and squad strength but it's never a guarantee of anything, and there are many more ways it can go right than go wrong. So those trophies definitely count...
