In fairness, if you try to rationalise it you could say that he's one of their very, very few "heroes" who provides them with a touch of class. Also they exaggerate the partnership of Agger and Skrtel whom in no way is the best in the league, they think that Reina is the best keeper in the league, that Lucas is as good as Busquets and that Carroll will turn into a world beater.
About Gerrard, he really is good and still one of the best midfielders in the league, but his fitness and if he can stay injury free for all season is a big dilemma.

I don't care what anyone says, the final month of this season has been the best for Liverpool meltdowns. I know we had a shocker ourselves (United), but feck me, those bastards had some fall from grace. The Gerrard thread alone was a scarcely believable.
