I'm aware of their history, i've had interactions with Bloom in the past. As you say both are incredibly sharp guys so if a deal makes sense it makes sense. Have there been any links to possible replacements for Maupay?
The way we operate we tend not to hear much in terms of incomings until they are very much almost done - we can't compete if we get into a bidding war. That being said I am sure the Directors of Football have targets lined up should he leave, often left field and often unknowns from less popular leagues that our approach to scouting allows us to do.

Does anybody even take sky seriously anymore?
Me personally, not really, they want viewers and clicks just like any other outlet. The whole transfer round up bollocks they do now where they sit round a table in their shit shirts and talk about what they believe they know and what would work etc is just annoying.

How many players do you think we could offload to Juve if we really tried?

Out:
Young, Darmian, Rojo, Matic, Sanchez, Lukaku

In:
Dybala, Matuidi, Sandro, Madzukic

It's worth floating the idea Ed. While they're in the mood like.

Really wanted to see him in a United shirt but we’ve moved on to McBurnie. Seemed like we were undecided between both considering they likely would cost similar amounts.
Never got as far as a bid - due to baulking at his agents demands coupled with us not moving on our valuation put the brakes on the Blades signing him is what I hear. If he was going to leave going to the Blades fpr me would have been easier to take personally as my Dad's family are Blades, my Uncle still has a season ticket at BL. Him and my Dad had the pleasure of standing on the terraces watching Tony Currie. I grew up in West London and my dad, god rest his soul, was kind enough to take me along to Griffin Park so I became a Brentford fan. My other Uncle (Mum's side) was a massive Manchester United fan and had a season ticket at OT and would often take me along and as I got older give me his ticket when he couldn't go, hence my soft spot for United and being on here :)

I think we should give him a chance. Look at TAA at pool, last season be was given the role and was ridiculously good.

People wonder why young British talent fails to mature and I find it’s because people don’t trust them and instead sign a player who’s proven himself in that position...in another league.

It just irks me. Give the lad a chance, he’s got a pass on him and will be hungry to prove himself/learn.
Oh no I agree, if thy are good enough they should be given opportunities. Hold my hands up, thought he was nowhere near good enough and didnt deserve one. Not convinced he is the answer but certainly convinced now he deserves a chance

Be great if you kept hold of him! My soft spot for Man United comes from a similar situation, having a lot of my family supporting them and going to matches when I was younger. Going to thoroughly enjoy welcoming them to BL this season. Hopefully Brentford can make the push this season ;)

DYBALA’S WAGE EXPLAINED

https://www.capology.com/club/juventus/salaries

He is currently earning £213,663 per week Gross (£11.1m per year), which equates to £115,378 after Tax.

If he is looking a 30% increase, it means his demands are £277,761.90 per week Gross (£14.4m per year). All wages are detailed in England as Gross.

To give some perspective, Pogba earns £290,000 per week (£15.08m per year) and Lukaku earns £200,000 per week (£10.4m per year).

Therefore, Dybala is requesting £4m more per year than we are currently paying Lukaku.
Isn’t there some thing in Italy whereby you can pay for tax in one big annual lump sum thereby making your earnings from thereon in taxless essentially?

I remember it not being a huge amount either, maybe £150,000 or something?

Would be a proper kick in the teeth if Inter manage to do one over us by blocking us getting rid of Lukaku and getting a decent player in at the same time.
Again, a player who doesn't want to join us can stay wherever he is or move somewhere else. Inter are helping us here.

And we would deserve it for screwing around and not just getting rid of Lukaku when Inter were the only one in town who wanted him. That said I have a hard time believing the switch is what both Managers want in a forward so hard to see that happening.

It wouldn't block us getting rid of Lukaku it would just block a swap deal. But I find it funny they don't have money for Lukaku but all of a sudden have money to buy Dybala

La Stampa briefly mentions this as a possibility as well - last paragraph:

The eternal challenge between Inter and Juventus is inflaming the market. The two clubs do not seem to spare themselves provocations and mischief. Linked to a timeless rivalry, the two clubs only challenge each other for the biggest prizes, and this is exacerbated by the presence on both fronts of Beppe Marotta at Inter and his former pupil Fabio Paratici at Juve.

The two clubs now encircle Romelu Lukaku, Antonio Conte's main transfer objective, valued at 85 million by Manchester United and therefore considered unattainable by Inter, but closer to Juventus that can make a swap with Paulo Dybala. The advantage rests with Juve but twists and turns are not excluded from here until August 8 when the transfer market closes for the Premier League.

Dybala would not want to leave Turin, he had communicated this to the club hierarchy and he was hurt learning that he was on the market. In reality, Juve simply evaluates any bids received for any of its attackers, except Ronaldo who's untouchable. If Dybala had to move, he wouldn't have dreamt of the Premier League, which is too physical for his characteristics, he would definitely prefer La Liga. But there is a glimmer of hope, so much so that his agent Jorge Antun flew to London yesterday to discuss with United's top management of the Red Devils, who are willing to offer 8 million per year (the request is for 10).

[Note: since this Italian source, we are talking ANNUAL, EUROS and NET.]

Inter, which has offered 60 million for Lukaku - with the idea to go up to 70 million, has frozen negotiations - at least temporarily - and has diverted its gaze towards Edinson Cavani of Paris Saint-Germain, whose contract will expire in June 2020. Nasser Al-Khelaifi's club is asking for 50 million EUROS, a more affordable figure, but the Uruguayan earns 14 million per season in France and Inter are willing to go up to 10 million.

So far, so good. However, the issue remains Dybala's signature. The Argentine, expected tomorrow at the Continassa, before saying the last word wants to meet Maurizio Sarri and reaffirm his full willingness to play the "false nine" role. That's why, in this Milan-Turin-Manchester entanglement we must not exclude further surprises. Inter, pressed by Conte, who has no strikers and is aware of how hard it is to fill the gap ("In Italy there is a team called Juventus that has built so much and behind them it's Napoli, we Inter want to join the fray" said Conte a few days ago), is also looking towards Edin Dzeko: however, Roma has not responded to Inter because Roma is waiting to meet the entourage of Gonzalo Higuain, who is seen as first choice in case Dzeko departs.

This, however, is another story, parallel to the mystery novel intrigue in which Lukaku and Dybala are the main actors. Yet another story involves Mauro Icardi, another striker destined to set petroleum to the fire between Inter and Juventus: Icardi is unwanted by Conte, but Juve want him and so does Napoli. The price set is 80 million: no discounts, unless Dybala refuses United and decides to wear Inter's jersey.

Conte wants Lukaku, Dybala doesn’t have qualities that Lukaku has
It's a straight swap between Icardi and Dybala. Conte has no use for Icardi. Inter could come back and offer 70 million to us for Lukaku separately.

This is high stakes poker.

The claim is that they are offering a straight swap, player for player, so there wouldn't be a transfer fee.

It makes inter better off, Juventus has no benefit in this scenario
