How many more bad performances until people start realising he's not that good?

Can't be bothered bringing up the poster who was arguing that we absolutely had to fork out that massive contract before the season has even started, some people are genuinely clueless and it does seem our club has many of those across the board. One bad decision after another feck off

Our biggest problem, next to pogba ,
Rashford and lingard are delusional, they think they are something they are not , good at football!! Total wank, rashford = welbeck , but welbeck was better.

Another player leeching off the Club. 200k/wk my ass.

And some still believe Barca wanted him for 100m. Laughable.

Wan Bissaka and James have been crossing balls in for him all afternoon and Rashy's nowhere to be seen.

Seemed like lots of dangerous crosses came in today that he got nowhere near. If he wants to be a top striker he needs to anticipate those better.

Edit - what @Manny said

We have made him an untouchable by giving him a huge contract and getting rid off all his competition in the squad now we have to deal with it.

He was a disgrace today, I used to think of him as a quiet humble boy who was delighted to play for Manchester United every week but it looks like the money and fame has got to his head. It's not his shite performances that bothers me the most but he looks and actss like he couldn't give a toss anymore

He was supposed to replace lukaku. But people will always compare him to lukakus worst season to justify rashford. If he is the main striker then its gonna be a long season

Ordinary player along with the rest of the homegrown players today.(Not counting Greenwood as it's too early to say).

They are all squad players at best. Too many of them on the pitch.

He will never be more than a peak Darren Bent, which wouldn't be bad but certainly not anywhere near world class status. We need an RvN.

I’ve said it for a long time ... I like him but he isn’t good enough to spearhead our attack. Not good enough for our wing. He’s just not good enough.

He has talent and has scored some great goals but his decision making and intelligence on the ball is shocking.

James and AWB put the ball into box a number of times and he was flat footed. slow to anticipate a whipped cross coming in.

Rashford "hero-solo mode" is infuriating. 4 times in the game he drew defenders in around him allowing our players to overlap into the box, but he hero-solo's it and fecks it up. He either turns it over, or hits the defenders, not passing to mata on the penalty spot was unbelievably bad.

It's just going to keep happening . You have to be completely brainless to think selling your best goalscorer and expecting Rashford to replace him is going to work

Never in a million years is he going to be capable of scoring enough goals in a season. Never

Just hoping we see some strides from Greenwood this season. I know it's a bad ask, but he does have quality.

If hes not good enough then why do you like him? Never get this.

This, the "Rashy" gold chain comes to mind. And his body language on the pitch.

He is not a striker, at least not in that system. Stated out well with LvG, but he hasnt got the positioning of a striker nowadays. Whats his best position anyway

I like him because I’ve watched him on MUTV coming through the youth ranks and I don’t doubt his Man Utd’ness but he just hasn’t kicked on.

Just because I don’t think he’s good enough currently doesn’t mean I have no hope for him. He just needs to step back and go back to the drawing board a bit. He has all the tools to be awesome.

Someone needs to put him in his place, thats all i think. Seems he taking our current situation for granted and spread his wings a bit to much. First step, remove him from taking free kick for a period.

Fair enough. He's obviously not good enough that we both agree on

I will get slated for this. But I get walcott vibe of him. A player who relies so much on his pace that you think as he gets older and more experience his compusure and decision making will improve. We seen speed merchants before and they stay the same. Rashford will have moments where he will destroy a defender and score because if his pace. But I dont think he will ever have the conscistency or cleverness of top strikers. And yes I know he is better player than walcott

Thats what happens when you hand him a big contract he's never earned, he's getting paid too much and he's not world class, wouldn't want him for free in my team.

Offload him.

He was poor yet again today. Definitely needs a veteran striker to take him under his wing and teach him the finer points and tricks about the position, as he clearly doesn't have much natural instinct in that regard.

Would rather have Tammy fecking Abraham over Gashy. That says it all really

The thing is he has enough basic qualities in his game that you would think with a bit of coaching and a strong word in his ear when needed we would see some improvement.

I don't see a player who has improved in any facet of his game since he emerged, which is really concerning.

My question is: Is it the player or the coaching/handling?

He plays within himself. He makes a mistake and keeps it inside, doubling down on it, hiding behind "mentality" and ego instead of owning up to it. He'll stagnate if he doesn't actually tries to change his formulas some. He'll just be stuck with making the same mistakes, not being free from his own image which holds him back. So yes, burst him bubble.
