Film Dark Phoenix (2019)

Let's be honest, apart from Wolverine, Magneto and Professor X, the rest of the cast are pretty much rubbish and unlikable.

Anytime the movie scenes involves other mutants without those 3, the quality dips.

Finally got round to giving this a watch and I've got to ask, did Sophie Turner give us the worst adaptation of a comic book character since the original Deadpool? Just casting an American actress would've made it 1000 times more bearable, what an awful casting choice.

Not sure how Sophie Turner seemingly got the most work as a result of GoT. Shittiest of all the lead actors imho. Or at least the most annoying outside of it. We get it - you think you re new found fame and famous "friends" are cool. It's borderline Kardashian behavior to see her mug pop everywhere.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Absolute gash.

So finally watched this. It was... weird.

It wasnt as bad as some of the reviews made out. But it was just... meh. It didnt feel epic, it felt like a rush job (which I believe it was). I had no issues with Sophie turner.

Magneto and xavier are great castings btw. But the whole thing about them of course having the same purpose but going in with different methods should have been avoided for this movie. When it was finished, me and my partner both said 'oh thats it?'
Its a shame cos there isnt an issue with the cast. The Alien thing was too funny though. It came straight from the 90s (although that was when it was set so...)

Not sure what was worse, this or X3. This seemed more 'boring' than that one, whereas that one had some memorable scenes but also was bad (but had some great actors). We saw more of Dark Phoenix powers in Apocalypse than in this movie.


Also coming to this thread, I can not remember if the movie showed that hilarious bit from the trailer:

I didn’t think it was that bad but it has nothing on first class & days of future past sadly.
