Know that once we win a game against crap opposition the Ole in crown will be full in force, like what they did with Norwich, then blame everyone else for moaning about a single loss or draw while they're doing the opposite with wins.

Anyway this lot is 4th in their own minnow league 10 points away from the top position.
Give it some time mate. We weren't doing this to poor opposition for a while. It's good for the confidence of the team to score 4-5 goals in a game.

Hoping we can do that today. We are short of squad depth, but confidence can take teams quite far...

Its good to see like this against ANYONE, you'd have to be a right idiot to play it down when we've played so much worse against far worse teams this season.

Jesus just enjoy a good performance man. Stop moaning. It's rare we get this opportunity
Who moaned about the game ? I'm replaying on his post as if we're beating the mighty Barca for him to come and post sarcastic comments about earlier people points, but, hey same thing happened after Norwich. The problem is they go on and call people short sighted after taking a win against a crap opposition as a way to post sarcasm on other posts.

Mata is done. Watch Pereira come on the second half and run rings around these farmers
Wut? He's been great. A no. 10 making things happen. I know he's been awful all season but credit where it's due.

Mata was frustrating, but you can see how great he used to be in his performance today. Miles better than Andreas.
If we insist on playing with a number 10 we badly need someone like him. Just younger and more mobile. Pereira and Lingard will never cut it. Both aren't good enough.

They really are. The other Belgrade team made a struggling Spurs team look good.

If we can play well against Brighton or Sheffield United I'll be impressed.
Not likely based on this performance. I see the same old stale build-up even tonight. Are Partizan even pro level?

In games like these, where we are going to spend the majority of the game n opposition half, Mata has to play. The only guy who can play smart 1-2s with our forwards

    Enjoyed that.

The lions share of the insanity surrounding this club for the last 6 years, has come from wilfully ignoring some of the most obvious things imaginable... such as “only playing Juan Mata in a 10 behind 3 quick forwards”.... and then just instantly forgetting it again a few weeks later.

Luckily we’re in one of those middle weeks where we accidentally hit upon something that works... enjoying it while it lasts...

Much as Rashford is playing well apart from his finishing I'd be thinking about giving him a rest he's played a lot of minutes so far this season

Seems like today a player either is an evergreen machine until 36 or pseudo-retired at 28. Wtf.
Have you even watched Mata this past year? He was finished last year, just like how Matic is now.

The fact he's still playing this year is comical stuff. Also, he is struggling to keep up with the pace of the match tonight, against a bunch of farmers i might add.

Fred & McT are actually ok at the minute. The problem is the attack breaks down before it's even started, because there's no movement ahead of them.

It's literally side to side or backwards in the centre of the pitch because there's no options to pass to. It happens 10+times a half.

It's hideous how poor we are at moving the ball around.
McTominay is trying to be positive today to be fair, he's given it a way a couple of times but I like seeing him trying to thread it. Usually we have the chicken and egg of poor indecisive passing in midfield and poor inefficient movement up top, and I'm never sure which is primarily to blame for our struggles.

Tonight we've been good though, trying lots of different things and not letting out heads go down when things don't quite come off.

They are talking too much about us not conceding a goal in this competition so far we know what usually happens when they do that

Agreed. Until January at least when we hopefully get one who can do what he can plus run.

I don't know much about them but on the basis of the two games we've played them they've been awful. Thankfully we're better tonight than we were in Belgrade. It's nice to see us creating chances for a change but it's hard to be optimistic when you know it will be back to the same old disjointed football at the weekend.

Some joyless souls on here. Decent performance means opposition are wank. Astana have just been beaten 5-0 at home by AZ. We scraped a late 1-0 against them at home. Shite oppo doesn't guarantee an easy/ exciting victory. God knows we slate Ole and the players when we're beaten. Can we not just revel in a vibrant attacking display. God knows they're like hens teeth.

Shows how much we miss Pogba.
We need at least one more quality midfielder.
