Neither team can play through the other's press
Pogba, Fabinho, and Keita are players that can pass or dribble out of a press but they're all out injured

That goal reminded me of the one Ngog scored all those years ago.

Got to 2-0 eventually.

Man. United gave it a decent go second half but the absences really hurt them today.

That was a great game for neutrals. United were better second half of second half than I expected.

Should have been 4-1 or something, but I'll take 2 goals and another clean sheet.

Battered them at times, and could have had 5-6 really, they fought back well after our 10-15 min spell after half time. Lovely goal to kick it.

I’m not sure what I would make of that assessing it as a United fan, few things to take praise from but many worrying things also.

This match was similar to the match at Old Trafford but this time United failed to take their chances and we managed to get one like we did at OT. United played well in second half after initial assault by us and unlucky to take nothing from this game. Not that I am complaining. Just waiting for another 10 wins.

Should’ve killed the game off between 45 & 60 minutes. Because we didn’t we ended up inviting United back into the game. Martial should’ve scored.

United managed Robertson & TAA well again. Thought both were largely poor due to United’s set up. Mane & Salah missed some sitters.

Wijnaldum was brilliant.

Away against the best team in the world missing two key starters with a paper thin squad. Result went against them early on off a corner kick. They were competitive outside the first 10 minutes of the second half. Which is more than can be said about the vast majority of (good)teams at anfield

Very true, we really should have had 2-3 in that period.

My only complaint with Wijnaldum is he keeps the ball too long otherwise he has been brilliant.

And again Sky trying to create some sort of controversy out of that disallowed goal. Van Dijk having none of it. Shocking broadcasting.

wouldn't be controversial had this game been Crystal Palace against Southampton.

But hey we need stories and narrative

He does everything so well, up until the time he has to create the chance or take the shot. Then he turns into a dithering puff ball. It's annoying. Would be world class if he had keita's composure in the final third.

Bit awkward for carra to be talking about what makes a great team, when the three others in the studio have have respectively won 5/3, 5/1 and 7/1 English league titles and European cups

Not every Newcastle fan enjoyed their winner yesterday...

@Marching is this you?

I personally think a player launching a missile into the crowd like that could've killed someone and is grounds to void the result and award a 0-3 to Chelsea.
 I happened to be at the Etihad watching the best Manchester side slip up v Palace.

Seeing Fat Fwank looking glum on MOTD was Wonderful.

Laporte is back for City. Seems like ages since they kept a clean sheet. Wonder if he'll make a difference?
