Something I really don’t understand is how noone are talking about the fact that Southampton should’ve had three red cards. After the game when I saw no discussion of it I thought I had got it wrong, but I don’t think I have.
1. The Romeu foul.
2. Stephens elbow straight in Martials head, he was already on a yellow and should’ve had another.
3. When Bruno was kicked and the ball wasn’t anywhere near, it was clearly just out of pure frustration because the Southampton player had just lost the ball. Can’t remember who it was, but if Soyuncu got a red for kicking a player out of anger then this should be red as well.
This sums it up. The match pundit on the TV channel I'm watching were Andy Townsend and one other guy. They kept on harping about the VAR offside (when we had Rashford's goal taken away in the same fashion few weeks back) and Lindelof non-penalty decision.
As another poster said above, the American pundits, commentary is much better. On the few occasions I've watched NBCSN sports, the commentary and half time comments are quite good and fair.
These pundits have some semblance of legitimacy in Non-European, Non-American countries only because the Scottish, Irish, and English accents is associated with Football when the Premier League took off on TV worldwide. (Even commentary with American accents sounds off to me on 1st listen
. )
Even then, I would prefer they don't show UK pundits and commentary in my country's sport's channel. They are so annoyingly biased (especially former Pool and Spurs players).
