As talented as it gets. Is Ole the one to unleash his potential? You tell me. Can't help but I am still excited, thrilling player.

Erm how is what Castles said any different to what the Spanish press have said? I thought the problem was the type of deal the two clubs wanted wasn’t the same? Who cares if Dembele has agreed to join? So has Sancho.

If we get him it will be a decent window, could have done with these players weeks ago but better than nothing

He is if it's his history at Barca to go by. I will wait till he gets here. Perhaps he will be more motivated to succeed here and he has his good mate Pogba as well
Remember our medical team is one of the worst in top level football, I'll be very surprised if his injury woes magically disappear.

So we are signing 3 RWs? Dembele, Traore and Pellestri?
Traore not available until January and Pallestri not ready for first team. If someone other than Castles was reporting this then maybe could feel more confident.

Cooper did mention once about us looking into signing both a young and experienced one, however nowhere near enough smoke from other sources.

if true, can see James leaving next summer unless he slots in at LW from time to time.

We could have had Gabriel or Badiashile weeks ago along with DVB, added to the forwards then that would have been a good window

Under a tree.
If someone else jump on this I would move to the 51 -49% its happening side, but as it stands with only Castle saying it, I'm still in the sceptical camp, all he has done is rehash the "agreed personal terms" tweet a few days ago, and will just cover himself in a few hours saying terms couldn't be agreed between the club's if nothing materialises....

We seem happy to join the race for Upamecano next summer, not saying I agree with that approach but just looks that way to me

Going years without a natural right sided attacker in the squad, before signing three in one day is the most Woodward thing I’ve ever heard.

Give peas a chance.
If its 45m permanent then its relatively low risk.
On a long-term contract? Can't see any scenario where this lad is a permanent signing and low-risk, no matter how much money we pay for him. For sure he'll be on decent money, and if he's a flop or injured during his time here suddenly we have another player on our books who we'll struggle to get rid of.

The only way this signing makes any sort of rational sense is a loan with option to buy. Anything other than that and it's a mistake.

Why would we negotiate personal terms if it's a loan? I reckon we'll get him permanently.

Doesn't that make him the opposite of a mercenary? If he were a mercenary, he'd just join the highest bidder, the one that pays him the most.
Mercenary is the wrong word for sure. Apathetic perhaps? My question is why do we want players who we have to kill ourselves over to convince them to join us? That hasn't ended well for us recently and I'm sick of this club being an island full of misfit toys.

If we spend £60m on someone who doesn't even want to be here, with one of the worst injury records of any young player.......

its reminicent of DiMaria, plus this guy it appears cant stay fit. Not the players fault, just goes against the spiel the club churn out about culture reset etc
