Erm how is what Castles said any different to what the Spanish press have said? I thought the problem was the type of deal the two clubs wanted wasn’t the same? Who cares if Dembele has agreed to join? So has Sancho.
If we get him it will be a decent window, could have done with these players weeks ago but better than nothing

I'd be unsure about a permanent deal, based on his injury record, a loan with an option to buy, based on a (largely) injury free season, sounds more sensible.

On a long-term contract? Can't see any scenario where this lad is a permanent signing and low-risk, no matter how much money we pay for him. For sure he'll be on decent money, and if he's a flop or injured during his time here suddenly we have another player on our books who we'll struggle to get rid of.

Mercenary is the wrong word for sure. Apathetic perhaps? My question is why do we want players who we have to kill ourselves over to convince them to join us? That hasn't ended well for us recently and I'm sick of this club being an island full of misfit toys.
