Congratulations to Guardiola for his first Champions League title without Messi/Xavi/Iniesta at their peak

Well done to Pep for finally making it and proving wrong those who mock him for his record in Europe after leaving Barça many years ago.

13/14 Bayern: Out in semi final after arguably the worst double leg European performance of Bayern in decades and aggregate 5-0 loss to Madrid
14/15 Bayern: Out in semi final to Barcelona
15/16 Bayern: Out in semi final to Atletico

No CL final in three years in a team that won the whole thing the year he took over and made two other finals (won one more) in a decade. Unlucky there.

16/17 City: Out in round of 16 to Monaco
17/18 City: Out in quarter final to Liverpool
18/19 City: Out in quarter final to Spurs
19/20 City: Out in quarter final to Lyon

After four full seasons, Guardiola made it past quarter final stages and managed not to go out to one of French powerhouses or Spurs. Tonight is a big achievement for him: to finally lift the trophy in his post-Barça period and show once and for all that he doesn't need few out of the best players of their generation in peak of their careers + the GOAT, but few hundred million pounds and eleven full backs will also do. Well done Pep.

Well done. Only took a few billions, and 66 CB transfers to finally nail a team that is sound defensively and can go this far.

They’re truly changing the game over at City.

Finally shown he can operate on a shoestring and doesn’t need multiple world class options in most positions to make his style work.

Oh wait.

Also Man City are ruthless, if Pep had a season where he didn't win the league he'd be sacked.

We could learn a thing or two from them.

Commiserations to Tuchel, 2 CL finals back to back and lost them both.

Oh wait, it's not one of those threads.

Finally shaking off the shackles of winning big ears without Messi, something Fergie was never able to do without Wes Brown

Stats tell me otherwise. Every team that has debuted in the CL final for the first time has lost.

Don’t you even dare suggesting that, it’s done and dusted.
From 2018: Yaya Toures agent Dimitry Seluk:"Pep turned all Africa against himself for how he treated Yaya. And I’m sure that many African shamans in the future will not allow Guardiola to win the Champions League. This will be for Guardiola an African curse. Life will show whether I am right or not"

It's already over.

I'd rather City win.
Ha, me too.
Would rather they be 2 behind in CLs than us only have one CL more than fecking Chelsea. Besides Chelsea actually have fans, couldn't stand them gloating.

Well done Pep on the financial doping. Congratulations plastic city fans for helping Chelsea destroy the game

And a fa Cup Final loss. That's three final losses in a year

Steve Howey is Pep’s favourite player of all time.

Pep gave Messi videos of Gerry Creaney to watch at Barca.

Much appreciated mate and I already contacted my African friends for confirmation, but please don’t try to counter jinx me here.

It's been clear for years and dead on obvious since January that they'd win it and that whole air of inevitability will sum up the feeling for many football fans and dare i say some city fans too. The natural, boring conclusion of what happens when a corrupt state empties money into a nobody football club for a decade.

Saw noel Gallagher on bbc saying how after they won the league he didn't want to win the CL straight away as it would be too easy and this way they feel like they 'worked for it.'

It's a sad, manufactured, soulless 21st century version of an incredible tournament, that is at its lowest ebb with 2 oil teams who tried to leave it battling it out in front of a few thousand neutrals

I mean this is as fecking stupid as it gets, not that I’d expect anything different from this idiot. Sure I’d wait till my fifth date with a woman of my dreams before I move on and would take joy in watching her have fun with the likes of Monaco, Lyon and Spurs who fecked me over and embarrassed me in front of my small group of fans, sounds good.

It hurts that our rival got top managers and we are stuck with Ole for another season. When should we aim to be the best and not be happy to just be second?

I thought PSG would stop City and they started well. Then Pep coached his team to turn that game around. He is great in finals as well so I think he win it.

You know, I think a bigger crime than City being a good club now is that their spokespeople are just about the worst people in the known world.

I long for a parallel universe where people stopped listening to Oasis after 1999 and the likes of Noel Gallagher faded into obscurity.

At least they’ve stopped with the spoilt “we don’t even care about the Champions League” hissyfits they used to have.

There's footage of these guys celebrating united not winning the league in 95 like lunatics while city were god knows where. They were always so happy to portray themselves as the purists next door to the corporate monster. Both Gallaghers are emblematic of the hollow reality of pretending to support this current manifestation.

I think City will win too, but this Chelsea team's defense is pretty solid. They also have both Kante and Mendy back for this, I hear.

And Tuchel's organisational skills are quite good.

To be fair to Tuchel he has done really well only having half a season. Shame he couldn`t quite do the business but Pep has had a lot more time and money so it was inevitable that he would finally win it. Aguero got his hands on the trophy in his final game too.
