Sky sports and daily telegraph saying Poch is target no1 and ten hag target no2.
It is about time our board got to their damn sense. I am so positive that Pochettino if he comes to Manchester United, he will return us to glory. I can even be quoted on it. The only problem is that, psg might not want to let him go, if he continues to do well with them. Regardless, even if he doesn't reach the final of the champion league, we can look at tuchel and hope that psg make a irrational decision and let him go.Sky sports and daily telegraph saying Poch is target no1 and ten hag target no2.
Same here! I’m hoping with every fiber of my being that the board thinks same.Agree with the last two but part of me is intrigued to see what he can do given a proper budget. Ten Hag would still be my top choice though without any doubt
Ten Hag would be number one but Poch would be a very close second for me. A lot on here don’t rate him highly enough but the guy knows what he’s doing and our football would be light years ahead of the crap we’ve been served up.Sky sports and daily telegraph saying Poch is target no1 and ten hag target no2.
I always thought his football at Spurs was underwhelming as well.Whenever I watch PSG under him I'm just underwhelmed by the football I see. I know its a tough job, but also people seem to want to underrate their squad to give him an out. I thought he was meant to excel with making good with what he's got, isn't that what he did at Spurs?
Plus the squad really isn't that bad, this weird notion that every position needs a world class player is utter FIFA nonsense.
I'm intrigued to see how it goes in the CL again, because I don't know how much you can learn from league form, unless it's dreadful.
Yeah, it's energetic and organized but it's not great technical football. I don't really know why people have great football as a descriptor of Pochettino.I always thought his football at Spurs was underwhelming as well.

I think people just fall in love with the idea/narrative of a certain manager and get too starry eyed about everything about them.Yeah, it's energetic and organized but it's not great technical football. I don't really know why people have great football as a descriptor of Pochettino.
I think his biggest achievement was taking Spurs to the last week of the title run in.Pochettino would be a very underwhelming choice. He hasn't won ANYTHING, his biggest achievement was a lucky CL final run. Hell he couldn't even win Ligue 1 with PSG. His football is dire and he doesn't develop young players.
So yeah, naturally the Utd board will go for him.
Good postIts a bad appointment by PSG, same as it was with Tuchel.
PSG are caught between two ideas. They can see that in the CL they're out organised and out pressed by teams like City & Bayern, so they go for systems type managers who could implement that style of play. But they can't bring themselves to build a first team that that can actually do it, they're too hooked into star names. So we get the absurd marriage of a manager known for high pressing hard working front lines trying to work with Neymar, Messi and Mbappe, probably the least hard working front line in high level football.
PSG should just continue with the kind of managers they had in the past - Ancelotti/Blanc types - who will get a tune of what they've got and just find a formation and style to suit those players. Zidane would be perfect. They need to forget the systems managers, no matter how trendy they are, PSG just aren't prepared to do what it takes to build a team to match.
As for Poch, you can't blame him going for a job like PSG in way, but in all honesty it was a bad move and the Messi purchase made it harder to play like he wants. I wouldn't personally read too much into his time at PSG, I don't believe for one second that the team is anything like how he wants. I suspect his plan would just be to take the league win for his CV this season, cross his fingers in the CL, then leave in the summer for a club more in tune with how he sees the game.
High line, aggressive pressing, fullbacks higher up the pitch, almost like extra wingers and a workman like midfield. I can see him playing a back three and using Dalot/Shaw or Telles as his preferred fullbacks and Wan Bissaka as a right sided center back. What is his brand of football? I rarely watch anything but United.
It's essentially based on how they play without the ball, his teams are compact, press aggressively and relatively high. They then transition quickly and try to exploit the mistake they forced. If the opposition is in a deep block and well positioned, he has no answer. What is his brand of football? I rarely watch anything but United.

This feels eerily familiar...It's essentially based on how they play without the ball, his teams are compact, press aggressively and relatively high. They then transition quickly and try to exploit the mistake they forced. If the opposition is in a deep block and well positioned, he has no answer.
He came in January to PSG when they were 3rd, he finished 2nd. This year they are 1st and 11 points clear after 14 games. Unbeaten in their CL group, which is a fairly tough group (includes City).Pochettino would be a very underwhelming choice. He hasn't won ANYTHING, his biggest achievement was a lucky CL final run. Do you know what Bottled means?Bottled the league title to Leicester and bottled the CL final. Would hardly be the most exciting hire.
Liverpool played pretty poorly that night. I would argue the occasion got to both teams and they both looked nervous. If Spurs didn’t feck it all up in the first 30 seconds I think there was a decent chance they beat Liverpool.Do you know what Bottled means?
That Liverpool team was one of the best in Europe. How is that bottled? They were clear underdogs going into the final?
He also beat Barca and Bayern last season in the UCL to reach the semi finals. He came in January to PSG when they were 3rd, he finished 2nd. This year they are 1st and 11 points clear after 14 games. Unbeaten in their CL group, which is a fairly tough group (includes City).
He's not quite the disaster you are trying to make out. And that's without mentioning his time in the PL with Spurs, who did nothing of note before or after Poch but did look good under him.
Haha. I love how people post this nonsense without the disclaimer that it was fecking Spurs.Bottled the league title to Leicester and bottled the CL final. Would hardly be the most exciting hire.
It was about as pitiful a performance as I can remember in a CL final.Do you know what Bottled means?

Dunno, but they lost the title to "fecking Leicester".Haha. I love how people post this nonsense without the disclaimer that it was fecking Spurs.
Some people here must be pretty young if they don’t remember the state Spurs have been in for most of the last 30 years. Yeah ‘Arry got them going for a bit but that was on the back of two world class players.
Poch built a title contending team almost from scratch while being outspent by 6 different clubs. He had a higher net spend when he was with Southampton ffs and went into the 18/19 season with a lower net spend through his tenure than Stoke City but yeah that Champions League final was a huge failure.
Jesus Christ.
Yeah but why be rational when you can be sensationalist and type ANYTHING in capital letters despite it being factually incorrect? He came in January to PSG when they were 3rd, he finished 2nd. This year they are 1st and 11 points clear after 14 games. Unbeaten in their CL group, which is a fairly tough group (includes City).

As did every team in the league. Not sure why Leicester wildly overachieving means Spurs underachieved. Nonsensical. They were never once in pole position for the title either so they bottled nothing.Dunno, but they lost the title to "fecking Leicester".

This said, you can’t really attribute the stupid penalty in the first minute to Pochettino. You could only argue that he didn’t adapt well enough to going 1-0 down.
So did Untied, Liverpool, City, Arsenal, Chelsea and the rest. Not sure what your point is.?Dunno, but they lost the title to "fecking Leicester".
Energetic and organisation would be a dream for this team right now though. He’s a vast improvement on what we have/had and the fact the club (SAF in particular) are long term admirers it almost seems inevitable now.Yeah, it's energetic and organized but it's not great technical football. I don't really know why people have great football as a descriptor of Pochettino.
Fixed it for you.We need a manager who has no past affiliation with another PL club that we absolutely and utterly despise e.g., Liverpool, it brings unnecessary media scrutiny etc, we need to wipe the slate clean.
