Simple. We just don't want to sign him, that's it.

I imagine we must operate under very strict guidlines: ie: we must sell Telles before buying a new LB or we must sell Wan Bissaka before we buy a new RB.

Hence why we are no rush to complete our deals. Squad wise we look set. The only players we are after are the ones who will pluck the whole left by our departures.

That's why we are not rushing the De Jong signing.
He was near the top of the list from the moment Ten Hag took charge. We were definitely interested, but maybe not enough to outbid Lyon.

For me its pretty simple, Feyenoord had to sell before 1st of July. United still didn't sell Telles so the leftback isn't a priority.

Credibly journalists were reporting it so I don't buy that
Says who? No tier 1 journalist(Ornstein, Whitwell, Stone) have confirmed our concrete interest in Malacia. The links are there due to the fact he is Dutch and ETH wanted to sign him at Ajax. That's it.

The notion that we couldn't pony up 15 mil when we are about to sign De Jong, Eriksen and were negotiating for Nunez, Antony and Martinez is just laughable.

Why is that stretch of imagination that we won't sign any new LBs as long as we have both Telles and Williams on the books?

Lyon feels like a move sideways.

For Christ sake - if a player is going to Lyon for €15m then we simply were not that interested. That link to Lyon has been there all summer with our name thrown in - sound familiar?
Spot on.

The De Telegraaf article from a few days ago alluded to Peter Bosz at Lyon dangling the carrot of regular game time at Lyon as being important to the player. And there was no guarantee he would get that at United with Luke Shaw still at the club.

Is he a starter in NT ? is he even in the squad ?
He's been in every squad post Euros under LVG and has been getting chances. Blind is the first man. I can see Malacia starting under Koeman after the world cup, but things can change rather quickly in football. March last year, Wijndal was the up and coming prospect, but he's fallen out of favour and Malacia has had a very good development ever since he was MotM against France in the u21 euros last summer.

"English club were also in the race but Malacia wants to work under Dutch coach Bosz."
That doesn't make sense, Bosz has never stayed anywhere longer than 2-3 years, he's probably on his way out right now

Shaw is ok but never fit. You are being generous on Telles. Either way we won't buy until we shift them, we are predictable.
How so?
I recall us buying VDB when we had numerous players for his position. Sancho and Varane likewise.

Shame, kinda liked what I saw in the conference final.
I watch the dutch league every week and this guy is not the signing Manchester United needs. He is a big questionmark in my book. Ofcourse he has great potential but it is still potential. United needs a more arrived and experienced played who is sure can match the level that is required in the Premier League.

IF this deal does not go through. Which I think it will not. Then it's a blessing in disguise.

VDB was just odd. Sancho and Varane were competing for more than one spot and were clear first teamers. This would be a back up to Shaw.

Fair enough, you definitely have a bigger pool of performance to gauge your opinion of him than I do.
Still found him to be an exciting prospect based on the very littile of what I saw from him, wouldn't have hurt to have him if we offloaded telles.

Doubt we'd have gotten a 'here we go!' from Fab if there was still a race for him going on

This makes no sense. You buy based on priorities and key problems that need to be fixed or improved. Our LB situation is a much lower priority than most other positions.

So are you saying our RW, CM or even striker positions are lower priority than the LW? If you are then I am not sure if you have been watching United the past year.

Don´t understand me wrong. He is an exciting prospect with great potential. But he lacks the experience of playing on the level of the premier league week in week out. The guy never even has played in the Champions League. Ofcourse his run in the conference league was great. But the teams in the conference league weren´t that great.
United could take the chance and sign him. But it is a big gamble.

Players that go from the top dutch league (eredivisie) to a top four premier league team mostly fail. Examples are: Memphis Depay, Hakim Ziyech, Steven Bergwijn. I think Malacia won't be an exception. He should go to a mid table team first. Like Virgil Van Dijk and Giorgino Wijnaldum did.

There's still no official announcement. Think Romano jumped the gun with this one.
Think he should of probably just left the here we go out. Deal probably agreed but wouldn’t mean it’s over I suppose.

I've always liked Fab but this year he's had a touch of the di Marzio's about him. Definitely dropped down as a Tier 1 for me and if he's now stamping his "Here We Go"'s on deals that ultimately aren't done its not a good look. I know some just flat out dont buy into him and I'm starting to have doubts myself.

Think it could be Tagliafico as understudy to Shaw. Sell Telles and bring in Tagliafico for 5million.
Ten Hag can depend on him and he can score and assist from LB.
