How pivotal to city's success was he really?
His roles were significantly involved in sponsorships and footballing operations, both of which are central to a lot of the charges leveled at City. The clubs charged but he isn’t?
Seems to have survived all the Barcelona cheating, maybe he’ll survive the City stuff. Are you not worried of getting someone who should be well aware of City's cheating ? Surely his name is bound to appear around those charges and switching jobs should not be saving him if he knew things.
Remember when WCW got Russo and thought they won the jackpot then folded a year later after they discovered he was a fraud hiding in plain sight and wasn't some intelligent savior they had bet the farm on?
Sorry, bit of a weird comparison but it immediately popped in my mind for whatever reason. I should be excited. And I am. Just won't show it on the outside for some time.
Nothing wrong with the mighty Great Border Citydidnt fancy away trips to carlisle next year id say

I was just coming to post about that. Surely he and many others will be banned personally if the charges come through. His roles were significantly involved in sponsorships and footballing operations, both of which are central to a lot of the charges leveled at City.
If City are found guilty, it’s difficult to see a way that someone of his role and seniority could not be implicated.
He joined City in 2011-2012, or at least their football group, as he left Barcelona in 2011. He's not CEO there he's a COO, he got that role in 2016, he's been at City for 13 years. He was Head of Sponsorship at Barcelona, at City he was appointed CEO in 2016 after originally being hired by City Football Marketing as a Comercial Director.
top scorer in 6 of their 14 seasons of relevancy. How pivotal to city's success was he really?
Yeah but can’t he be in charge of sponsorship and not the reporting, legal side of it?His roles were significantly involved in sponsorships and footballing operations, both of which are central to a lot of the charges leveled at City.

Yeah I miss read it, he was COO as per CFG's descriptionHe joined City in 2011-2012, or at least their football group, as he left Barcelona in 2011. He's not CEO there he's a COO, he got that role in 2016, he's been at City for 13 years.

Haha, the first to post this amazing-ness!Omar coming
Possibly which begs to question did you give United assurances nothing is coming of this, City will wall from these charges or maybe get a slap on the wrist at most?I was just coming to post about that. Surely he and many others will be banned personally if the charges come through.
"Berrada is Paris-born of Moroccan nationality and has worked at Italian internet provider Tiscali as well as at FC Barcelona where he was head of sponsorship from Jan 2004 to August 2011. He joined CFG after Barcelona as head of international business development and held two further senior roles in sales and commercial at CFG before assuming his current role in Sept 2016."
If all the charges are proven, then he’d be looking at jail time I’d imagine.I was just coming to post about that. Surely he and many others will be banned personally if the charges come through.
I don’t think it’s possible to have the level of responsibility he did without having an intimate knowledge of the requirements to meet competition laws. United wouldn’t be hiring him as CEO if he didn’t have significant experience with FFP.Yeah but can’t he be in charge of sponsorship and not the reporting, legal side of it?
I couldn’t give a feck about him really so it’s not a he’s our scumbag now type job. I do think there’s a step from his job to hiding it from UEFA and FFP regulations. But then I literally know nothing about it
Reminds me of Titanic when Ismay, after forcing the captain to press on dangerously to set a new world record, jumped into a lifeboat and watched his ship sink instead of going down with it.

… or he’ll go down with the rest of the cheaters at City, in about 9 years time
Or City fight the charges in perpetuity as they said they would when first charged by UEFA. They certainly have the funds to do it.I was just coming to post about that. Surely he and many others will be banned personally if the charges come through.
Haha! Well there you go. Genuinely hadn't seen that tweet.Tweet

Don’t think he is jumping a sinking ship. Apparently he had offers in summer from Prem and foreign clubs for the same role he is taking at United but turned them down.Let's say he genuinely isn't jumping ship before some shit goes down at City. Why would he leave them to come to us? Could it just be a simply great contract we have offered him, one that City refused to match or better? Money is hardly an issue for them is it?
It's interesting how people move from one organisation to another.
Just one example of how much bigger we are.Let's say he genuinely isn't jumping ship before some shit goes down at City. Why would he leave them to come to us? But United is a big club..
Before being announced
- as CEO he was at 9k followers,

The pull and push of Man United is huge. We are still a very big club. It's the Glazers who have killed this big institution.

I always thought the two City executives who came from Barca and their importance was widely known. Just that not many knew their names or faces. Can't say I'd heard of him before this.
Not going to get carried away until I start seeing some positive signs. The city legal issues may be an issue too.
When you travel, you realise how big United are.But United is a big club..

I've heard of Txiki Begiristain but not this guy.I always thought the two City executives who came from Barca were widely known. Just that not many knew their names or faces.
I agree but there are already positives in that we’re going for someone with a track record as opposed to someone who brokered the take over deal. Can't say I'd heard of him before this.

We'll see, but who knows what could happen to him.I agree but there are already positives in that we’re going for someone with a track record as opposed to someone who brokered the take over deal.
Also how many times has an individual been held accountable for FFP breaches / accounting regularities. The penalties are normally on the club rather than the individual.

Liverpool are next biggest.
I don't think this was ever going to be an issue, I mean could you image the PL explaining why they turned SJR down.Timing is interesting. You've got to think INEOS have got the nod there's no problem with the purchase
he must be an expert in doping and finacial doping then. Get itWorked at City and Barcelona...
Would any business be okay with discovering that their CEO was involved in a massive financial cover up at their previous employer?I agree but there are already positives in that we’re going for someone with a track record as opposed to someone who brokered the take over deal.
