Question is....Will be bow out as a PL winner this season??
Making this public puts extra pressure on them to win the league this season but perhaps that's why he's timed it in this fashion to get that extra push to get them over the line. Match against City in Anfield will be a make or break game now.

Brilliant manager. Liverpool had that 13/14 season where they were flying and almost won the title, but other than year that they were basically average side for years until Klopp came in. He transformed their club, won the Champions League, won the league after they couldn't do it for 30 years. If it wasn't for Pep's City, they'd win another few titles as well. Huge impact.

Currently they're 1st in PL, in Carabao Cup final and favourites to win Europa. Hopefully one of City/Arsenal can stop them in the league.

I refuse to celebrate this. When we were a proper club it didn’t matter how good opposing managers were cause we’d always embrace the challenge and find a way to beat them.

They‘re losing their Ferguson essentially and like Ferguson, I think he’s responsible for a number of their players playing above their ability and with him not there, those players will look quite ordinary.

It‘ll be interesting to see how FSG handle it. I don’t think they’re going to get someone as good as him again.

It’s brilliant news. As someone else said, their squad isn’t all that, but Klopp gets absolutely everything out of every one of his players and I think they’ll struggle to get that again.

I think they’ll go for Alonso though.

Should’ve won more if it wasn’t for doping. Done an incredible job.

In the interview he explicitly says that his health is as good as it can be at his age.
Feel like most here haven't bothered to watch so to break it down:

- No health issues
- Doesn't have the energy to keep going but still all in on this season
- Realised when discussing plans/signings for the future
- Right now says he won't manage again but of course could change
- Will never manage another English club
- Told the club in November
- Had to announce it now as would've been impossible to keep it secret as too many people need to know

Putting my neutral hat on for a second, it’s incredibly sad we won’t see him in the premier league. Loved his energy and style of play.

But glad to see Liverpool go back to mid-table mediocrity next season.

That probably increases the chances of Liverpool winning the league this season. The players will play out of their skin so he can end on a high note. Good news in the long-term as Liverpool are definitely going to suffer a SAF-like drop off in the coming years. If Pep could follow suit that would be nice.

Why is absolutely everyone abandoning ship? This is really odd. Can only assume they know who is coming in and who they intend to bring with them, or there's something very strange going on behind the scenes,

Its a funny old game
Don't like his sore loser antics even since his Dortmund days but have a lot of respect for him. Superb manager. Good luck to him in the future

What are you doing here then?

Nobody cares if you refuse to celebrate it or not.

I agree. Klopp did a fine job for them.

If they get their hands on Xabi Alonso, they might not have too much of a dip next year.

I mean it's much more likely to have the opposite effect and derail their season

Players in that team, especially new signings didn't go there to play for Pool, they went for him. They will now be considering their futures at the club. Other players thinking about what will a new manager think of me? Some players could subconsciously not put in as much effort, or care that much about him berating them for lack of effort in training because they know he's going.

That kind of uncertainly is much more likely - rather than a "rawh let's do it for klopp boys".

Like when Fergie left United, I feel like he knows more than he’s letting on

They struggled last season. Their best players are just exiting their peak. They seem financially restricted.

Genuinely feel like he’s leaving before the shit hits the fan
