What a fecking baller. That is all I'm going to say. I have no qualms about Hojlund and this guy. Just so good.

I’ve held my opinion as I’d not seen him until he got on the first team but I can say with no doubt he is a cut above, he always looks in control, good decision making, can defend, attack, finish .
Been a while since I’ve seen a young talent give me so much confidence, you can tell it’s no purple patch or standing out in a bad crowd as it were, gives me hope for the future which feels good

Garnacho scored a one in a million overhead wonder from further out than Wayne Rooney's. Into the top corner.
I agree, but Mainoo scored a typical Messi style goal, if you would.

On that note though... Hell of a midfield England have long term there. Rice, Mainoo and Bellingham. That's a midfield set to dominate the world stage for years
100%. It’s a sensational midfield. They all compliment each other as well.

Yeah Mainoo's was class but Garnacho's goal will surely go down as one of the goals of the decade.
Best description I read was that it was so good it’ll be on all those PL intro videos for pro games they have world wide

Trying soooo hard to stop myself from buying a Mainoo shirt. My last named youth player shirts have been Januzaj and Cleverley. Nevermind, just talked myself out of it. What a player he can become though

Not Rice, not a chance. They need a Foden or someone in there and completely control the game. You’re wasting those two with playing alongside Rice.

Lads stop it, we don’t want him going to the euros. Want him at home wrapped up in cotton wool for next season
That is the good thing about Southgate, he can’t spot talent and he doesn’t like picking United players

If I were the United manager, I’d love the bloke

Nooooo, we need him, too!

I don't think you have anything to worry about, though. Even if he makes the squad, I doubt Southgate will start him.

Gonna have to name my first born Kobbie after that.

Was surrounded by ABUs in the pub and several of them celebrated Wolves' equaliser like it was their own team. So naturally I went berserk when Mainoo scored. Got so many dirty looks.

Thank you Kobbie for changing my night from a 3/10 to an 8/10.

I'm quickly falling in love with him. He was exceptional on the ball and his overall play tonight. What a fantastic level headed guy speaking after the game. I want to hug him.

When you watch lads in the academy you can see some of them just have “it”, Mainoo was one of them lads, unbelievable player but even I didn’t think he’d be propelled to first team level and excel like he has.

There’s been a few utter bellends in this thread who value their own opinions over that of an 18 year old red. Mainoo is utterly fantastic. A true United academy player. Well done young man.

Forson kept the ball well and importantly made the run to open the space for Mainoo. He plays a huge role in that goal, well done him too.

It's nice to see that he is adding goals to his performances too. There was a thread a few months ago about how poor our academy is ,I call b.s

Southgate doesn't pick AWB because his right back spot is stacked but the rest of the players get picked.

Anyone who thinks our academy is poor is a fecking idiot that doesn't actually pay attention. Carrington is the clear third best academy in the PL behind only City and Chelsea, and our conversion to our first team is quite remarkable.

I would say there's not much between those 3 but you're right those 3 are by far the best academies in England.

They’re embarrassing aren’t they, they held a stupid opinion and refuse to refute it and would rather just pretend a quality player is bad to satiate their ego. Really cringey stuff for presumably grown men.

Away from England though, he has the same gait and running style as Seedorf and Tielemans, very sturdy in terms of his lower half, legs like tree trunks yet still remains graceful when running with the ball.

I think eventually he will have too much in his game to be a 6, a playmaking 8 is the type of profile he'll end up.
I know his goal was absolutely lovely but there was a moment in the second half when facing our goal 25 yards out he did a body swerve, a lovely turn and a very calm pass to dalot while under pressure,I thought 18 and he can do that

Rice is really strong defensively and very secure on the ball, Mainoo is brilliantly press resistant and will grow to dictate games, Bellingham is a world class #10. Foden doesn't play centrally often for City and either way, Bellingham plays where he would be able to play. It'd be way too unbalanced with just Mainoo behind Bellingham and Foden.

His quality, composure, and decision-making are often often already at the level you'd expect from the very best at his position. Hope the new regime buys a young Casemiro-type to partner with him for the next 10 years. What a gem

Mainoo dribbled around 6 players and scored a 98 minute winner…
Ya lovely goal but it's not even a competition dude... Garnacho's goal was out of this world. Even opposition fans were applauding that one.

Such a calm finish! I loved how he knew, as soon as he hit it he starts to wheel away. He’s really intelligent on top of looking like a special athlete at such a young age. Nobody could really tell he’d take to senior football in this way but the stuff he was showing at youth was undeniable world class potential and he’s really making good on that promise currently, you couldn’t ask for more.

We still need to replace Casemiro quality wise (no mean feat) and get a young understudy but I think our midfield is actually fairly set if Mount comes good which I’m still almost certain he will.
