Ah I see. Bournemouth more likely to double again in 37. Less transfers to make towards bench boost then.

Neto is a keeper (pun intended).

Edit. Although BC seems to think otherwise..

I have to confess, I pick a squad at the start of the season, and then forget all about it. I never finish bottom. That is my ambition.

P.S. I have no idea where I am (in Fantasy or, indeed, reality)

You need to share your rank first and ask the overlords whether you're allowed to talk in here

FFS Solanke went up. I took him out my team for a bit as I thought there was a different price rise coming.

Oh Schweiny. The classic overtinkering of the wildcard. Mines fairly set now with all of these nailed barring any last minute injury updates...

Neto Areola
Gabriel Kerkez Doughty Reguillon Udogie
Saka Son Bowen
Morris Solanke Watkins

The last 2 mid slots are currently Palmer and Foden. Really stuck on what to do here. I know I'll want Palmer in 30 so feel like it might be sensible just to have him in now and could even play him this week at home against Newcastle. Rival has him as well so it's a sensible pick. Foden should really be a GW29 midfielder that I can bench but it's such a hard transfer to make with the form he's in and the price rises which will make it difficult to get him back unless I sacrifice the likes of Son. Got today and tonight to think about it.

Going one arse defense? Brave considering they're the best defense this year and you'll lose rank every time they keep a shut out. You can always go for their attack but the points are massively spread around.

I've taken Palmer out with the intention of bringing him back in GW30 for a hit. If he doesn't return against Newcastle (or Barkley returns in one of the 3 games, I feel that could be worth it).

Foden is tougher choice. I will probably lose him because I'm happy to swap Son to him as Son's fixtures pile up with the big boys soon. City have Liverpool, blank, Arse & Villa for the time I miss him... Think Madison, who I'm bringing in, can out-point him in that timeframe.

Yeah I've got my eye on Havertz tbh. Wouldn't be happy with my defensive options in 30 either (don't think I fancy an Arsenal defensive double up away at City).

And yeah one or both of Palmer and Foden will go but really not sold on Barkley but can see that makes sense. I think we're looking at the odd hit or two after 29 is out of the way anyway aren't we to restructure the attack so I better start drawing up some drafts and working out prices.

So if I fill those spots with Maddison and Barkley I can do...

Barkley & Bowen > Salah & Palmer in 30 (-4)
Maddison & Toney > Haaland & Havertz in 31 (-4)
with 6 dgw players and 11 in 29.

It's dangerous booking in transfers, never mind hits for transfers though. Midfield and Attack do look pretty sexy though...

Saka Havertz Son Salah Palmer
Haaland Watkins (Morris)

Yeah this is essentially what I'm doing too. Didn't think about Havertz so might look into that.

I feel relaxed because the Son to Foden move free up funds and with Salah/Haaland already in by then, it gives a lot of flex to attack a GW37 BB.

Yeah there is some flexibility there if you get rid of Son instead of Maddison. Foden can certainly come back in with money to spare. Will just have to see how Spurs look around then. Rich comes back in as striker and he's the pick really instead of both. Annoying that he's injured at the moment really.

I can WC into:

Neto
Zabarnyi,
Doughty, Udogie
Madison, Barkley, Son, Bowen
Watkins, Solanke, Morris

Subs: Areola, Saka, Gabriel, Reguilon

That lets me get the full DGW in GW28 plus a full 11 in GW29.

GW29: Solanke to Toney
GW30: Barkley and Bowen to Salah and Palmer
GW31: Son and Madison to Foden and Havertz
GW32: Toney to Haaland

This is easily do-able and the biggest pain points are injuries. Also, it means going without Haaland for Villa at home but Salah has Sheffield United that week so he is the best captain anyway.

I think that's what I may do if I convince myself that Havertz is a better pick over Saliba.

That's worse than him just being out as it's neither her nor there. Doesn't really sound like someone ready to play 180 mins in 5 days though does it.

Solanke vs SHU and Luton at home seems pretty good even if he hauls in one of them. Morris is playing two away games
It screams that at best he's not that fit, and at worst he'll play 20mins game 1, get injured and get you 2 points as captain.

Well, that is true for anyone. As seen with Hwang and Senesi in past 2 weeks, there is a real danger that Solanke, Morris and Doughty end up on the treatment table.

It's a mad week when someone makes a post like that
Even GW29 is like that - is it really worth free hitting for these fixtures? Or just roll with 7-8 players?

As long as you have Spurs / Villa coverage it seems good enough.

A few decisions to make. Currently I only have Solanke and Doughty as DGW players. As it stands, I'd be able to field 8 players in the next GW without taking a hit. I think I still might free hit, but is it worth it for 3 players?! Similarly thinking about the WC for GW 30.

I've made two free transfers (Udogie and Son in for Ake and Foden).

I've had something telling me to take a -4 and take out Haaland for Morris. Morris plays has a good double and a nice fixture in 29. Haaland has Liverpool away, blanks and then Arsenal at home so I could do without him for a few weeks and potentially get 9 starters for 29.

Current side:
Areola
Doughty, Saliba, Dalot
Bowen, Son, Saka, Palmer
Solanke, Watkins, Haaland

Subs: Martinez, Gross, Tosin, Udogie

Any thoughts on strategy? Is a -4 Haaland to Morris crazy and save my FH for a future GW?
