Isn't she talked about because Democrats and liberals want her to be face of the republican party because she is so unlikable. She gets a lot of clicks.
In her mind it raises her profile and keeps her 'relevant'.
Usually though, people like her will fade away and live the rest of their life in a tornado magnet trailer park.

Unfortunately not, her antics and time in Congress means she's loaded now and let's face it, she'll have a radio talk show or a Fox News slot at some point

i guess pointing out the influence of money in politics is finally out of bounds for the democratic party?
You know, i'm curious what dems will do about citizens united, now that they have gotten the fundraising advantage on republicans.

They can reverse the ruling with legislation, once the filibuster is gone, i'm thinking it won't be so high in the list of priorities anymore.

I'm a bit shocked that Alabama voters were okay with voting in a woman as senator tbh, at least have to give them some credit for that.

At this point (and particularly when Trump gets his second and third and fourth term), America seems like an experiment gone wrong.

I shouldn’t really care as American politics have close to zero impact on my life, and yet I do. Don’t know why. Maybe because America is in a way the capital of the western world. Maybe because I have this horrible feeling that the idiocy will somehow end up on these shores in a not so distant future.

She got Trump, and Shelby’s, endorsements. It was never in doubt.

Will? Ha. What kinda thinking do you think got you BoJo and Brexit?
For what it is worth, people in the US at least changes their minds on their government(after 4 years they were done with Trump), the people of the UK needed about a whole generation to figure out that the Tories are awful, how long has it been now, 15 years of them in charge? Better late than never, i suppose.

I’m not British.

And even though my country has it’s own set of politicians I can’t stand, they don’t come close to a MGT.

It's pretty widely used in this context.

Come on now, do you really think Porter was not aware of the current context of that word??

she was pissed (with some reason I think) and messed up. She was rightly called out on it and then walked back (sort of) her statement.

I hate to tell you this but that is completely wrong. If anything,.US politics have far too much impact over here and have done for a very long time.

I will never understand all these gloom and doom posts about America’s future. Yes things aren’t as good as the glory days, but to think that it’s an experiment gone wrong is just wrong.

That’s fair. Don’t underestimate our ability to keep putting republicans in office though.

Ah, apologies. I saw Supports: Liverpool and made a hasty assumption.
Brexit is orders of magnitude worse vote (by the public) compared to electing Trump (even a second time). It has damaged the UK forever both economically and importance wise.
Give us time. Evangelical Nationalism isn’t quite done with us yet.

In a general sense, American politics have very little impact where I live. Could change when Trump abandons the Ukranians in 9 months, of course.

It was obviously a bit tongue in cheek, but I do think the impact of a second Trump term could be disasterous not only for America but for the world (considering Ukraine’s reliance on American support in the war).

As if the speech itself wasn't bizarre enough, the story emerging out of it is the most MAGA thing ever.

1. A complete misrepresentation of the facts? Check.
2. Easily proven to be false? Check.
3. Happened under GOP leadership? Check.
4. Policy the GOP supports would actually make the situation worse? Check

Remember the quaint old days where something like that would actually have an impact? Where a politican caught lying in such a brazen, disgusting way would have some ramifications? Ah. Miss it.

When I was growing up, my dad would always gather our family together and we would pray for Israel.
I was very proud to sign HB 1076, a very important bill to combat antisemitism. This bill defines antisemitism and makes it easier to prove when discriminatory conduct is motivated by antisemitism.

In reviewing, investigating, or deciding whether an alleged violation of this chapter is antisemitic, the Division of Human Rights must consider the definition of antisemitism. For the purposes of this chapter, the term "antisemitism" has the same meaning as the working definition of antisemitism adopted by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance on May 26, 2016, including the contemporary examples of antisemitism identified therein.
old friend is back.

e - Comments under that post are what you'd expect from fans of Kristi Noem. Im sure that the community leaders who stood with her for that bill (mentioned in the release) have no issues with them :)
