Klopp to leave Liverpool at the end of the season

When you look at the bare numbers I can see why you'd think that, but I think you need to factor in that they've probably been cheated out of 2 league titles by city financial doping. To come as close as they have is really impressive. (still dislike him obviously)
Have Utd been cheated of two league titles too?

Just look at his arrogance, having 9 players for corner in the last minutes of the match that led to Man Utd goal.

Maybe he is bringing a phrase from German, but probably better would be I have no stomach for, or I can't stand, your questions
He is, and I think your suggestions are better translations of the meaning than to translate it literally like he did.

Yes although the gap to the cheaters is obviously a bit less impressive from both of our title ‘wins’.
Does that matter? If the argument is that City's titles are tainted, then any runners-up (runner-ups?) should feel cheated whatever the point gap was, no? If you move it back a few years, to 2008, wouldn't you also add the one we lost on GD, which is even tighter?

That was 2011/12 where we lost on GD.

While that is true, not sure playing 162-167 minutes in 70 hours is smart. Especially when the EL tie was in the bag.
He obviously thought that this game would be a walk in the park. He didn't expect United to come out the way they did.

It was pure disrespect that he kept bringing off his best attackers (see also: penalty takers) thinking it was a guarantee they would win.

Yep, which is why you probably saw the reaction to the TV journalist from him. I really hope we put a dent on their title hopes too.

I have a feeling they expected a free run at Alonso but that's been complicated by Bayern.

I also have a feeling they are begging Klopp to change his mind.

Let's hope it's Big Sam in the end
I don’t think Alonso will take the job…..just like after SAF, Wenger - the comparisons will be relentless and there will definitely be some player attrition….not sure the likes of Salah and VVD will stay around and all this nonsense about their youngsters is just noise - where were they yesterday? An 18 year old Manc and 19 year old Argentinian ran the show yesterday for the other team!

When they lose the league not only are their complete management team waking out but the start of hthebreakup of that squad will inevitably happen.

The new manager has a big job to stay still and with the spectre of the Klopp loveites in the media comparing everything to Klopp it’s a tough job to take on. If I was Alonso - I’d wait until the replacement goes and then come in.

Cant wait to see it all start falling apart……

Well I hope Arsenal or City can stop them from winning the league. Don't care much about Europa, though they are obviously big favourites there.

Xabi Alonso denying him the trophy would be beautiful

I think a lot of people are underrating Leverkusen here still for the EL, most likely due to their prior reputation.

They're 10 points clear ahead of Bayern on top of the Bundesliga, and haven't lost a single game this season.

And still can set the record for most points in a BL season if they keep winning (they can afford one draw to get that record).

Feeding my bias- I have yet to come across anyone with veneers who isn't a massive cnut.
Are they veneers or crowns?

A lot of these Turkey teeth people say veneers when they've actually had crowns.

And the icing on the cake - he then turns them down for Bayern!
As a Spaniard I doubt he really cares about Liverpool besides it being a former team so he cares in that way.

Its not the same as Real Madrid coming in for him. Bayern I don't know would he take the job? Considering he's taking Leverkusen to the top. I think if he took the Liverpool job it'd be more to not go to a direct rival in Germany

Rumour is that he currently doesn't want to go to Bayern due to the chaotic situation there. That could probably change if Eberl quickly puts a proper structure in place again now.

I can see why, but it also won't be too hard for them to change it around.

Genuinely feel Liverpool fans overstate what Liverpool would mean to him. He went to Madrid as soon as they came calling then onto Bayern.

Certainly a current big prospect in world football though as a manager

Wasn't it rumoured that Benitez wanted to replace him with Gareth Barry?

Yeah in the 2008 summer window apparently. That alienated Alonso if rumours are to be believed. He had a really good 08/09 then asked to leave.

Alonso is still a really young manager. Stepping into Klopp's boots would be a ballsy move and honestly not one I think he needs to take right now.

Bayern is the perfect move. A bigger club, with loftier ambitions in a league he has already cracked. If would piss the Bundesliga and get to have a relatively pressure free crack at Europe - win the big one and he'll have his pick of any job and a huge reputation cast in stone.

Even Madrid would be a surer bet than Liverpool, with a weaker league to compete in and a phenomenal squad of players.

Moving from Bayern Leverkusen to an underfunded Liverpool side, to replace their Messiah in the worlds hardest league, just feels like too early a move for him to make this summer.

And then you bought Aquilani to keep the treatment table warm, right?

Correct. One of our worst ever signings for 20 million which was a decent amount in 2009. 12 months later Benitez was sacked, Hyypia retired & Mascherano went to Barcelona.

Roy took over...

Didn’t he move to Leverkusen in 2009?
