Port Vale have sacked their manager. Hope the new guy rates Gore when he's available for selection again.

Seems to happen an awful lot that clubs sack managers not long after we loan them there (happened with Oyedele and Forest Green last month) - but then, I guess the odds are high given how frequently clubs change managers these days!

Anyone got updates on his loan spell?

He looked very promising to me during the preseason and in the one or two appearances he made for us this season. Have high hopes for him.

Any update on this? Is he still injured? Hasn't been on the bench for any recent games as far as I can see.

What a shit loan this has turned into. All for the chance of some games with League 1 strugglers. We should either have secured him something higher level or just kept him.

The low level of the loan was a bit of a surprise - suggesting he was only in and around the first team squad because of the number of injuries and not because it was thought he was very close to breaking through ability wise.

But the fact it's gone the way it has with him picking up an injury so quickly is just bad luck. That could have happened on any loan - we've had more than our fair share of them ourselves this season!

You're right of course. But in terms of morale and visibility, being injured on loan to a L1 side fighting for survival is a lot worse than being injured at your home club.

I'm being captain hindsight, but I have thought for a long time we should be pickier with loans. There is always a high risk of either injury/circumstances meaning you don't end up playing much. That risk should be balanced against the benefits you'll get from a successful loan spell. I'm not sure the benefits at Port Vale were worth the risk.

At least I suppose part of the decision will have been about keeping him relatively close to home.

Gets asked about Gore at around 3:07, sounds like he's probably out for the rest of the season.

That is just bad luck, but not unheard of. A lot of our young players have gotten injured unfortunately.

Frustrating. But in keeping with our injury ravaged season.

Not many of our loans are bearing fruit this season. This one feels more frustrating as he should have got game time, and hopefully done decent at that level, but for an unfortunate injury.

Very disappointing if it's true that he's out for the season.
I was looking forward to watching him, if selected, at Sixfields on Easter Monday, when Northampton Town play Port Vale.
Let's hope he can have a good pre season.

Hannibal is in a bad situation as well. The loan arrangements for the high hopes turn out so badly this season. Maybe just pure unlucky. But I want to see an improvement after the new upper structure is in place.

Don’t get why he is stil out in loan if this is true. Recall him and let him be dealt with by our medical team. As bad as ours seems they must be better than port vales staff.

Are we sure he’s not back at United for treatment? He can go back to his parent club for treatment without the loan being terminated.
