Romano is a micro reporter. Minor tid bits of news has long been his forte. Again, Romano has not endorsed nor shared any opinion. Hes sharing news.

As a free lance journalist who has a unique business model, this sort of micro update is all part of his game. It has feck all to do with Greenwood. The tweeter knows this too, she's just trying to virtue signal to get her platform out.
How is reposting Greenwood's reveal video sharing news? Again, with zero context around the entire situation.

He's using an alleged abuser to farm for engagement which is pretty shitty when you look at how many followers he has, especially considering a lot of them will be young men. It's just normalising abuse

He does this often for fecksake. It's his twitter profile.
Here is him sharing a historic moment in MLS

Here is him sharing a vid of Maradonna and Pele:

And on that - where is the outrage toward Maradonna? A serial woman abuser? Did the influencer speak out against that? No because no one gives a feck with him. Be consistent or feck off, he didn't give an opinion - he shared a video of a player unveiling. He tends to share news that's already out there on twitter, along with giving news of his own. It's his brand, there's nothing else to it.

Romano posting/retweeting video is him endorsing abuser and normalizing abuse?

Using the same logic, anyone who said a good word about Suarez, John Terry are endorsing Racism?

FFS, he is just a journalist who posted news, just like how other major UK media journalists posted, like Ducker, Simon Stone, Athletic and all.

The sad thing is if you're a journalist you will cover greenwood more now he's a person of controversy, it's a perfect storm for them because you are guaranteed loads of interactions around your tweet. For example, imagine greenwood scores a goal on his debut, you immediately just post something like 'United fans must be seething right now' and you rile up a huge fanbase with internal divides + get all the people invested in this case bombing in with their opinions + the twitter bots.
Yeah, any journalist reporting anything on him will get lot of interactions. Anytime he scores a goal, it will be unbearable on social media.

Genuinely might just start a twitter account called 'Guiri en Getafe' and post a load of Greenwood stories with caps lock on and emojis everywhere, will have my retirement money in a year.

So you're not allowed to criticise an alleged abuser unless you criticise all abusers?

Moving away from the last couple of pages in this thread, I think it really does sum up where society is that someone whose brand is mostly reposting random videos and stealing scoops from smaller journalists is held up as some paragon of journalism with over 15m followers. Let's be real, he's not a journalist, he's an influencer.

You can criticize an alleged abuser all you want.

Romano however has not abused anyone. He shared a fecking video of his unveiling which is not against the norm. Influencers are trying to leverage his platform to better theirs with virtue signalling.

Hes celebrated nothing. Hes reported a big transfer. Any man utd player leaving the club is going to get attention.

She's got no point. If she's angry that a club went in for him that's another point. But event hat is not Romano fault.
Depends on the hat. If it's really ugly and doesn't fit the event at all?

She's not making any point. Romano is posting news about a player unveiled at Getafe.

She can't get annoyed at a journalist doing their job.
Romano posted what he did to retain relationships. He posts what agents and clubs ask him to. That’s literally the majority of his job. If he doesn’t, he loses access.

Do you think I'm a senior member of staff at Arsenal? I've been pretty consistent in my views about male (alleged) abusers

I don't think it is much of a reach though to suggest that he knows Greenwood will get clicks and interactions and I don't think either that it's poor form from someone to have a problem with someone using Greenwood for clicks and interactions.
The Athletic would’ve struggled without their daily story on it.

I've been considering it. I don't really like the direction football in general is heading and our owners are evil billionaire cnuts so even if we win major trophies it'll be tainted

Although those screenshots could be from anywhere, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

Why is this guy popular? I see comments on social media by people who follow him religiously. "I'll only believe if confirmed by Romano". Does he have a track record of knowing accurate inside news?

Always called him Fraudbrizio…
Doesn't that validate him as a source?

Why would it be surprising to anyone, at this point, that he gets the info from the agents?

I don't know why people have this hard-on for trying to discredit the guy. Very weird. Obviously, selling promo in his position is, at best/worst, unethical, but if you're just looking to him for scoops - what exactly is the "gotcha!" moment here?
