I think it's a positional issue as much as anything - otherwise Millie Turner would probably not have made the squad either. Wiegman sees MLT primarily as a fullback not a centre back. Plus, Wiegman must feel like she knows enough about Maya to know when and how she'd want to use her. Millie's more of an unknown quantity for her.

You could be right, and probably are. Personally I do not see Le Tissier as a full-back, although she can play there. Anyway, I'm pleased that Turner is in the squad.

I'm not really surprised about Maya not being in the squad. Defensively we have not been great recently, and the England defenders are a strong group.
I am, a bit, probably because I see her as someone to build around long term and suited to Wiegman’s style. But she’s still very young.

It still hurts to see Greenwood and Russio leaving us while being central players for England, it shouldn’t be normal. Good that we have four players there with Millie Turner and Grace Clinton accompanying Ella Toone and Mary Earps.
