A weird situation with the penalty. Very unfortunate. He has been good all season, though, and that counts for something. And a good cross for the goal.

The issue here is you only see the slip, not the phase before that where he was destroyed.
Tricky wide player can beat a full back on an occasion, especially one more used to playing on the other side. Bigger picture is he's been consistently good all season, playing every game when the rest of the defence are dropping like flies, and he's been error free for months but inevitable once he has a single slip up the knives are out

Was prepared to come in here to praise him for his peach of a cross for Brunos goal. The pen at the end was really unlucky but man, he really got skinned before that. Hopefully, it won't rattle him too badly.

Unfortunate? It was brainless. Palmer ruined him more than once and then he got skinned for the equaliser. Cost us the win.

He should just foul the player and take the yellow outside the box. It wasn’t a pen, but running after a player inside the box like that can and will cause issues.

Really really poor. One or two good moments.

Still has had a very good season, so unfair to judge only by this game.

I'm one of Dalot's biggest fans but last minute you simply must be in front of the winger there so he can't beat you on the outside. He was asking for it the way he was positioned.

Madueke fresh off the bench can do that to many players. Dalot should have known that he was beaten and given up

He tripped over Mudueke's trailing leg. Costly mistake tonight but he's been great this season. Let's put the pitchforks down, eh?
He's been ok this season, people always overate him for some reason though .... very dumb mistake, if it doesn't happen, we most likely win

Yeah Chelsea's best player was playing against him. He had the hardest task of our players defensively and he certainly wasnt great today but he did better than a lot of our defensive players would against Palmer with no help from a winger tracking back, and against Madueke coming off the bench. That has to be taken into consideration. Only a top defensive leftback would have had a good game with the workload he got without any help from Garnacho. I dont think anyone is suggesting he's a top 5 leftback in the world. But he's been versatile and very good this season and put in a great cross for Fernandes' goal.

Thought he at least dealt with Palmer better in the second half, but he's hardly covered himself in glory overall.

In hindsight it might have been better to stick AWB on that side and have Dalot match physicality with Mudryk on the right.

Capable of being quality but always a mistake in him and regularly switches off at vital times just like AWB. Both painfully average.

I don't like it at all, the problem is that Saw is always injured

Was very poor today. Why was he shifted to LB? Palmer had the upper hand all match long. Can’t blame him for the penalty, was never one for me. But overall, very poor todag

As many have long said, he just doesn't really have it all upstairs. Got obvious quality and ability, but yeah, he's just a bit thick.

Yeah you're probably right. But hindsight is always a bit 20/20. Hopefully, he'll learn from it and react to it next time he's in a similar position. I thought, the winger did really well in the situation too, he was fresh, Dalot probably was a bit tired by then.

Stupid boy. After messing up and giving away the pen, became oversmart and overran the ball and then tried a play a cheeky pass inside into Chelsea players. We should have conceded on the counter, They had 4 vs 2 at one point. You can't teach these dumb players anything.

He’s clueless to be fair. Surprised he didn’t high five himself at full time.
Will pull out a decent cross from time to time but not good enough generally.

I think saying he is painfully average is a bit harsh, he is in with a good shout of being our player of the year. At right back he is a very good player, a lot better than I once gave him credit for.

People writing him off as a potential for POTY are just angry at the moment. He's been mostly solid this season and easily in our top 4 or 5 for the season. However we all saw that penalty coming 3 seconds before it did and he still thought he could pretend to fall over and make contact.

Shame he gave away the pen, would have been a great performance from him otherwise. Still on for POTY for me.

Should've fouled before the Chelsea player went in the box. Watching the incident before the penalty, it was obvious the guy was going straight outside towards the box. Dalot didn't read that for some reason.

Maybe ‘painfully average’ was a bit harsh. He’s had half-decent moments but he’s not set the world alight at all. He’s always capable of a feck up.

There’s not many candidates for player of the year but Evans, Mainoo and Garnacho are streets ahead of him. If he’s a contender for player of the year then our problems are bigger than I thought.

Soft pen but incredibly incredibly stupid to put himself in that position to begin with, which was arguably the catalyst for them winning.

Well look at the comments above and you’ll see that many fans would have him as their POTY. Do you listen to Talk of the Devils? They feel the same

Yeah I can see plenty of posters saying it but I’m surprised. Granted, he’s been better this season but not top quality. I guess it just shows how far our standards have fallen that people think Dalot is top level. Maybe I need to set my expectations lower.

Are people seriously blaming him for that penalty? The softest ever
He is allowing the ref to blow his whistle no matter how soft it is. If he is ever going to pass you there, he has to be pressured towards the corner flag at least so he is not entering the only space without a million red shirts towards goal. When he has passed you, you can not with 3 points at this level be so desperate to fix your error that you risk a penalty. If you have 1 point you are risking less and it's atleast debateable. You only sprint into someone outside the box when you lead by one goal.

Beautiful cross for the goal. A shame about The penalty, but he has been good and is vital for us going forward

Bad moment, but shit happens more than anything. Tripped a bit and fell into him. He's better at LB than Wan Bissaka is so I'd hope it continues, need some semblance of consistency.
