I'm not anti Scottish, I just wanted Moyes out.
The TNT sport link has Kane scoring 15 goals in 34 games. Hojlund is currently at 13 goals in 32 games. Maybe he wasn't in the Championship but i'd hardly say he was pulling up trees compared to Hojlund at the time
Thats Premier league goals. 15 for Kane, 7 for Rasmus. But that's not the point. I was saying we need to put the myth that Kane was rubbish at 21 to bed.

The current/recent style of play will always create chances for the wide players to showcase their speed/skills.

But it caters for no one else, so your CF will look isolated and limited when barely any chances are created by the non-existent midfield.

But Hojlund was fine, he looked a bit tired like a few others after the international break.
This feels right.

Bit concerning that Bruno never seems able to spot him. He seems to set up more chances for Bruno than vice-versa just by being strong and happy to lay the ball off. But the other way around is so non-existent that you have to doubt the quality of Hojlund's runs off the ball, though he's still quite young obviously.

Kane was on loan to Leicester age 20 and had 2 goals in 13 apps in the 2nd half of 12-13, in 13-14 he had 3 goals in 10 PL apps for Spurs, Hojlund just turned 21 2 months ago. There’s no myth, at the same age as Hojlund is now Kane just started his career at senior level, he wasn’t PFA player of the year yet.

He needs to work on that hold up play. The ball seems to bounce off him easily.
Agreed - get it forward to him and more often than not he loses it. For a big man he doesn't show the strength you would hope he would.

He will be fine if we get proper competition or somebody like a cavani when we did. He wasnt great but we lost something when he went off

Would like to see us sign a forward who could play alongside him personally. Thought Brentford caused us a lot of problems with two forwards.

Talk of the Devils podcast suggested the team is often built around McTominay arriving late in the box and be on the end of things that Hojlund should be.

He was invisible and it happens a lot. Need to get him fit and firing quickly to make anything of this season

He makes the wrong choice of runs and postioning, all the time. There was a moment in the second half that was so frustrating. Bruno I believe was on a break into the box centrally, Antony to his right, instead of Holjund running to the left to create as many scoring options as possible, he decides to run right, crowd out the area, making the defenders' job easy.
Hopefully improves this, or we'll have to get a true starter.

I like Rasmus but he needs a lot of development, United can’t wait we need him learning his craft from a Toney or an Osimhen, it’s really that simple!

Starting some games and coming from the bench will help him develop next season.

Would love Toney but we have too many issues to solve so simply haven't the budget for him

Despite all the 'I told you so's' I got a few weeks ago I'm still not seeing it with him.

We need a new starting striker next season with Martial on his way

Osimhen would flop hard in this team.

He’s playing worse now than when he first came in and things just weren’t falling for him. The whole team is gone weird at this point in time. His injury couldn’t have come at a worse time for him. He was becoming borderline unplayable. Hopefully he can bag another couple of goals before the end of the season.

Seemed like he was taking some weird runs on some counter attacks yesterday. Maybe I’m misremembering but I think there was at least two instances of him making a run to the wrong side.

Off the boil, the boy needs needs a backup rather than being called on so hard while he's still getting used to the intensity of the PL.

It's ridiculous he is our sole credible striking option.
He has shown that he is more than capable, but you’re right that we have no decent alternative. If we could get either Tony or a young backup for Hojlund, a manager with a clear playing style and strategy and a no. 10 who will play our cf, is able to feel the game and not always try the killer pass - then Hojlund will be one of the very best. The only thing he might never be really good at is heading.

There seems to be a reluctance from the midfield and wide players, he's like he is fending for himself out there at times.

Fernandes seems to want to play intricate through balls all the time, which very seldom come off, or shoot on sight. I'm not sure if it's a case they don't trust or rate Hojlund at times but he is feeding off absolute scraps at times.

He's shite.

It's a miracle we even had a chance at finishing in the top 5 this season, with this guy as our main striker.

He is not Premier League standard, he would be playing for our u23s team if he didn't cost as much as he did.

Tony what are your plans for next season? Will you retire or join a mid-table Ligue 1 side?

Not seen him get a decent pass since he came back, we can't string two passes together up front, who would do much better with the service he gets?

Not with Frimpong at right back?
So buying osimhen and frimpong? Can’t see it happening under SJR.
Plus osimhen would want to be first choice (on a huge wage) and he’s not the type that will hold the ball whilst others come into play. So you’re paying huge transfer fee, signing bonus, salary to gain someone who mostly hovers around the box. Completely different profile to Hojlund.
we need to think about the profiles of players to build a side not just chuck money at whatever the latest big names are

I can't say I particularly liked him laughing and joking as he came out for the second half vs Cheslea.

Think it showed in his game as well. Bit sloppy and careless.

I hope we get another striker next season. It's unfair to rely on him all season, he's far too rough and needs support.

I can’t see him being a striker to lead the line unfortunately, doesn’t have what the likes of Toney and Watkins have in their locker. Need a new striker in the summer.
