Do we need any of the English clubs to win Europe? Or could we still top it even if they just made the final.

Does your auntie have wheels?
I think it’s fair comment. However, EL is doing Liverpool favours this season. They’re obviously good enough to be in the CL - unlike the two who came last in their groups. Both out of their depth in terms of the preparedness for the season. Didn’t do either any favours. Would be thriving better had they come outside top 4, I suspect.

I would prefer him to stay at Leverkusen because "I'm not done yet", but otherwise I fully agree

Exactly the same applies to Leverkusen.
Yep. Both benefiting from not being in the CL but both good enough

Not necessarily win it… But go far and keep winning games along the way… Brighton’s win last night added 0,25 pts to the cause despite them getting knocked out…

They are expected to go down to 2 (Fiorentina & the winner of Roma v Milan)… but they will get points in the quarters. They are currently up by almost 1,5 points. We need about 6 wins more than them to make up the difference.

if West Ham and/or Arsenal progress, then we will surely be on track to move above Italy, and we will have helped them by eliminating Germany’s threat…
Thanks seems interesting then. Hopefully west ham and arsenal do the business on that case.
Villa too, no? They look like they can go all the way.

I might be being a bit silly here but how are Italy far ahead? We aren't far off in points and have 5 teams still in Europe to their 4? With Liverpool going up against Atalanta, they may well go down to 3. If Arsenal, Liverpool and City progress that's rather massive no? This is before we consider Aston Villa who look red hot in the conference league. West Ham themselves proving to be quite a wildcard on top
I think this whole coefficient thing is done super confusing. Why has he different numbers than the official UEFA website? They have Italy at 17.000 and not 17.7. Going by those numbers, the Serie A is currently 0.93 ahead of the Bundesliga and 1.75 ahead of the EPL.

Anyway, if I understood the points system correctly, the EPL could still gain 18 points in the UCL, 23 in the UEL and 13 in the UECL (54 in total). The Bundesliga could gain 23 from the UCL and 13 rom the UEL (36 in total). However, Germany and England can't both have ideal outcomes since they compete for 13 potential points in the UCL and 13 potential points in the UEL directly. If that is shared evenly, England would be at an average of 41/8 + 15.25 = 20.375 and Germany at 26/7 + 16.071 = 19.78. From this, it seems it seems as if the EPL is almost secure while it is still a somewhat realistic scenario that Serie A misses out on top 2 completely.

I mean, let's assume Leverkusen makes it to the final (beating Milan/Roma), Bayern wins against Arsenal but loses to City/Real and Dortmund wins against Atletico but loses Barca/PSG. For the ease of calculation, let's assume clean sweeps. That would result in 18.92 club average for the Bundesliga. Assuming Fiorentina makes it to the final, Italy would be at 18.43.

Think it will be a clean sweep in Europe for the English sides this season.

And just to be clear its the top 2 who get the 5th Champions League spot?
In other words England only need to displace Italy or Germany (not both) to get top 5 into the Champions League?

Because as you can see:

No italian team did really flop. The worst of them all in terms of coefficient, Fiorentina, are in the UECL QF.
England instead have Manchester United and Newcastle horrible results to carry. Both clubs have, together, made the same points (15) as Italy's worst team.

Every Italian team either achieved their capability in the UCL (maybe Inter fell below expectations) and the rest are still in Europe.

Newcastle and United being utter shite and winning 2 games in 12 games has hampered the EPL a lot.

With the difference that Leverkusen didn't play a team on champions league level yet this season.

The Bayern München they won against was severely out of form. So badly out of form that it even meant the sack for Tuchel.

Dortmund are in the CL. Stop being daft.

@Zehner do you feel Leverkusen might lose their unbeaten streak in this Series?

Leverkusen will win. Leverkusen are unbeten in 41 games. West Ham will do well to keep the scoreline at 2:0.

Nothing stopping Klopp's team from winning the Europa and Premier League titles now.

Pretty sure Atalanta beat us last time they came to Anfield (late 2020).

Is Kelleher really going back to the bench when Alisson comes back?

He's 25 now. It's time he moved on from being a back-up, especially with how good he is.

We have 82% possession anf 11 shots already after 26 minutes. West Ham really negative and could also be down to 10 men

Parqueta just kicked him on purpose to hurt the leverkusen player, can't see how it wasn't a red. Blatant violent conduct.

Yep. The UEFA referees really have been terrible this season
