I was about to say Newcastle winning is massive for us.

Then I saw they are ahead of us now!? I thought they were like 10 points behind or something!
Same here. With the focus on Villa and Spurs, I completely ignored the teams creeping up behind us.

At least one of Tottenham or Villa seem to drop points pretty much every week, and we still can't get near them.

Given Spurs have all of the top 3 still to play, 8 points (if we beat Bournemouth) is still just about doable.

The keeper did everything to make it easier for Isak. Why backing off like that?

We bought Antony for £90m instead of Isak in the same summer.

Thursday night was a big blow to England getting a 5th spot so it‘ll be immaterial if we catch Spurs

He's done it again
I still can´t believe Dortmund didn´t exercise their 30M € buyback clause, instead San Sebastian sold him to Newcastle for 70M,. I´m sure Dortmund got a nice additional sum "under the table", but that was so so stupid. Look how much they spent on Haller, Füllkrug, Malen and Adeyemi instead. Such poor management. Yikes.

Isak has been fantastic. Didnt Spurs get a spanking last time they played Newcastle away?

There's always that glimmer of hope, that Spurs will just be Spurs and Spurs up the end of the season.

When you look at our remaining fixtures, and spurs/villa's remaining fixtures then there's really no reason not to be running them close. We won't of course, because we're terrible, but still.

A decent side would win the last 8 games.

Also, wasn't VDV world class?
I never saw anyone call him world class, but he's very good. Had we not let him go to Spurs, we'd need one less centre back this summer.
