After almost every match I find myself thinking "a few of their players were quite good and could easily improve our squad." Is that just because they look good playing against our dross? That has to be it, right?

Does that young LB, Milos Kerkez, look like a prime attacking Roberto Carlos every week? Or only when he's going up against Dalot?

He just turned 20 and seemed to bomb forward very well and had quality in possession. I am not sure how good he is at defending in 1 on 1s, because I don't remember him having to do very much of that on Saturday.

What you guys think of Ian Maatsen? He kept popping up in the PSV game but yesterday in CL he was just amazing. He is an LB, plays wing, very agressive and can beat anyone 1:1. I would love for him to join Shaw and get some competition going on.

Chelsea are sleeping on the talent of a potentially great player. Kid plays left back, left wing and CAM with equal potency. Was truly baffled whe he was sent on loan after what he did at Burnley and how he killed it this past pre season. Plus with the good performances he had when given a chance before January. Now see him flying at Dortmund! If be ANY chance Chelsea were to think of selling him to raise money over PSR. IMHO we should be front of the queue for his signature.

Him, Reece James (if he can stay fit) and Gallagher would be the CFC players I'd take. and at least two of them seems to be available in the summer.

Has anyone been linked to Goncalo Inacio? He looks absolutely quality.

Portugal's long term defense looks sorted with Inacio and Silva coming through

Heavily linked with Liverpool for a while. Would probably look even more likely with Amorim at the helm.

He would be outstanding, but I think it would be an impossibility to come to us with his strong Leeds connection.
Hasn't he already betrayed Scotland? Maybe he's just the sort to cross the divide..

Pablo Maia seems a reasonable option but I’m a firm believer you don’t sign anyone as a back up

Desiré Doué looks really interesting. Plays mainly off the left wing but has also played right wing and 10. Would not be surprised to see him move this summer as our replacement for Sancho/Greenwood/Antony.

Another interesting prospect is Lille's RB Tiago Santos. 21 years old and plays with so much confidence in and out of possesion. Was everywhere on the pitch yesterday against Villa for 120 minutes.

They should just sell Chilwell, he's been there 4 years so they get most of the money and probably some Prem team would overpay.

Didnt Poch play Maatsen as a right winger during the first half of the season once?

Hopefully Maatsen will be the left back for our national team from now on. Hartman from Feyenoord picked up a bad injury and will miss the Euros. Malacia obviously isnt an option for the Euros so that leaves the way open for Maatsen if Ake will play central. Koeman might just be stupid enough to start with Daley Blind though :(

Yes. Started him left wing and 10 the rest. Can't recall a poor appearance from him before the loan..

IMHO failure to start Maartsen and Frimpong as wingbacks at the Euro is grounds for sacking, if you are operating a back 3 formation

Bradley Locko - A french LB, 22, from Brest. Has got everything: incredible pace, wins a lot of aerial duels (despite his only 1.80 height), aggressive defending, excellent link up play, precise passes and crosses. Can play both inverted and bombing FB. His background and profile kinda reminds me of old Pat but the most similar modern player gotta be Spurs' Destiny Udogie. And most importantly, he would be pretty cheap!

Also their wingers are bad, their best players are basically all CBs and it would probably suit Xavi Simons.

------------------------------Striker-------------
---------------------Gapko---------XaviSimons------------------
Maatsen----De Jong--------Koopmeiners-------Frimpong
-----------------Ake--------DeLigt---------VanDijk---------------

seems like a no-brainer. Maybe Van De Ven for Ake if you need pace there to let Maatsen just attack or against a particularly direct wing forward on that side. Haven't seen enough of Zirkzee to judge the striker position and Memphis is always a wildcard at club level. And the limited but hard-working guys like Malen, Dumfries and one of the CMs (Wieffer?) useful off the bench against tired legs for Gapko, Koopmeiners and Frimpong after 65-70 minutes.

Wharton has been class for Palace since he signed.

18m. Bargain. Why do we never find gems from the Championship?

Crazy to think we are interested in Guehi, Eze, Olise and you could easily add Wharton to the list.

How have we let the squad get to this state where at least 4 Palace players walk into the team?!
Because we have a bunch of jobbers in the squad. We need to be better at moving players on and start gambling on young hungry players with potential.

Essentially what Rangnick said.

Couldn't agree with you or him more. Board kacked themselves when he started spitting facts at press conferences and I must say I think ETH should've kept the agreement with Rangnick to work as a consultant for a transitional period.

Though it's easy to say things in hindsight as last year a lot of us thought it was good that he didn't listen to Ralf

Wharton looks like a perfect complimentary player to Mainoo.

Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough looked good this season, especially against Chelsea in the first leg of the cup semi, and seems to be available for £18m. Worth a punt?

To be fair not many of the top clubs take a chance on Champ/League One players, it would actually be a very good way to build a younger squad with a bit of hunger instilled in it.

Obviously it's risky but £5 to £15 million with plenty of add ons get you pretty much anyone from that level, plenty of them would be misses but for those levels its a drop in the ocean for Prem clubs. Baffling really, they would rather let them go to a lower-mid table side and then pay another £50+ million on top to get them a season later.

Wharton should go to the Euros. Already standing out as a great player and is going to be a better version of Gallagher.

Promote this man.

But in all seriousness, if we can get a good loan for Zach Baumann next year then we should pursue it, he looks like a clone of Wharton in terms of physical make up and the way they play.

Given he is still only 17 it will probably be best to get him a loan on January and have him train with the 1sts until then. Given a lot of the squad will be at the Euro's I would hope to see him on the tour along with Amass and Wheatley.
